Pelosi gets indecent proposal from Whoopi Goldberg

Watch CNN's John Roberts recap Pelosi's peculiar interview on The View.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - As Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has no doubt faced some hard interviews in the past. But her appearance on ABC's the View Tuesday took it to a new level.

This is such a non-event. I'm confused as to why anyone would remotely get upset about it – very touchy, we Americans are these days. If Ms. Pelosi had an issue with it, let her take it up with Whoopi and Barbara. If not, let's all move on...and remember that this is The View. They gab, they fight, they talk over each other, they aren't politically correct, and Ms. Pelosi obviously had to know that before going on the show.

Tom, it has not thing to do with republican/democrat politics, just male/female. If Olbermann and the rest of the NBC Sunday Night Football anchors mentioned wanting to "do" Peyton Manning's wife while interviewing him, there would be an uproar.

Women will always get away with this sort of thing because men don't whine about being objectified. It's one of those areas of double standards that they'll gladly keep.

The problem with congress is that there are too many Republicans in it and they stop the Democrats from keeping the Bush administration in line. - Pa

Yeah! Lets get rid of all the Republicans!!
My eyes are brown, are yours?

Sorry, if this was a group of Conservative MEN degrading a female and Democratic house speaker and their spouse, there would be calls to the network to apologize, fire them, dumb ass resolutions to abolish all talk radio, Fox news etc, etc.

    Simple truth, apologists.

    Tom from Dedham,

you are 100% right and I'd like to add: If women want to be treated with respect, they need to show it to each other as well. Otherwise they have no right to screem and complain if they get it back from someone else.

If Walters and Goldberg enjoy trash talk they should reserve it for their private moments, instead of poluting the National TV and pushing it on Pelosi, who, after all, was their guest.

For those who think its funny, yeah, welcome to "Dumbing Down America" movement.

How disgusting to treat the 3rd highest ranking political figure in the United States with such disrespect. Barbara Walters ought to be slapped for allowing it to be said to Mrs. Pelosi. As for congress what is the matter with the people of the USA do they not understand that no matter what congress puts through Bush can veto it? The Republicans are the problem NOT the Democrats. Boy there are a lot of dumb people out there. Hannity is not alone!

Whoopi had her chance to ask the Speaker " What happen to your spine"?
Nah she had to talk about sex! Oh well so what people are dying in our names!
However looking at this video feed
only maybe Whoopi did ask before airing. I guess Barbara told Whoopi that this line of questioning is " Off the Table"! Pathetic

Let’s face it; Barbara Walters has never had class, tact or manners. She is a dried-up, old snakeskin of a woman. And as for Whoopi, well, she is grotesque, fat and obnoxious. So is it any surprise that both of them are obsessed with the idea of sex? Those who can do, those who can’t dream.
“The View” and its’ ever changing crew of hags should be abandoned by America.

It's The View, not a political news show. The ladies sit around like housewives of yesteryear over coffee and gossip. That is the premise of the show as I used to see it, I gave it up when Rosie arrived. My point is, its a chatfest, nothing more. When I heard about what Whoopi said I laughed, it was my first reaction. It was humor, thats what Whoopi does. If Pelosi is/was offended she needs to address that. People need to just lighten up a bit, sometimes things are just meant to be funny and sometimes they miss their mark.

Maybe you need to stop working and watch more TV. It's not like you do anything of importance or relevance. You are living a dull and fruitless existence. Start having fun.

Therealist. 18% doesn't amount to much so that means that the majority thinks Pelosi is doing a great job considering the Repubicans are the ones that are blocking any progress on anything. How can they move ahead to do anything with the perverted, child molesting, sexually frustrated, hypocritical Republicans taking all the money for the WAR? Hope you enjoy that nice 9 trillion dollar deficit these dolts are leaving behind.
