Obama: GOP doesn't own faith and values

Obama told an evangelical church in South Carolina: "I am confident we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth."

GREENVILLE, South Carolina (CNN) - After speaking to an evangelical church on Sunday in this traditionally conservative South Carolina city, Sen. Barack Obama said that Republicans no longer have a firm grip on religion in political discourse.

"I think its important particularly for those of us in the Democratic Party to not cede values and faith to any one party," Obama told reporters outside the Redemption World Outreach Center where he attended services.

"I think that what you're seeing is a breaking down of the sharp divisions that existed maybe during the nineties, when at least in politics the perception was that the Democrats were fearful of talking about faith, and on the other hand you had the Republicans who had a particular brand of faith that often times seemed intolerant or pushed people away," he said.

This guy is not fooling me. His religious background is Muslim, not Christian. What kind of Kingdom is "he" talking about? Scary, dude, really scary.

Senator Obama is an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. It is the largest congregation in the United Church of Christ. One of the founding denominations included in the United Church of Christ are the Congregationalists who were the PILGRIMS. Senator Obama gave a keynote address for their national synod this summer. Other keynote speakers were Marion Wright Edelmann & Bill Moyers. This is a mainline Protestant denomination. Web site http://www.ucc.org

WAKE UP PEOPLE. This is a man that clearly says what people want to hear.
Does a Godly man promote the partial birth of a baby, sticking scissors in it's head and vacuuming the brains out?
    This one did and does.

I think it would be great if Black Obama were elected President. If he fools enough people into thinking he is a Christian, when he gets into office, perhaps he will be true to his Islamic roots and do what could in retrospect be the most impartant act in US History, which would be to throw the Israel lobby the hell out of America.

"He finished his brief remarks by saying, 'We're going to keep on praising together. I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth.'"

Hahaha. He must not have read the Bible. That is exactly what we are not supposed to do.

Obama has written articles for the council on foreign relations, which is nothing more than a conglomerate of weapons, oil, media, drugs, and financial corporations. He is controlled by the same multinational corporations that run the bush administration. This is why he says wants to attack Pakistan. Wake up America.

I, too, question his commitment to God rather than to the liberal Democrat wing. His upbringing is Muslim, radical from his daddy and step-daddy. His mother was an Athesist! His current minister is a radical black seperatist! So regardless what he professes at the time and audience, can he be trusted to lead America. NOT!

Babylon also said they would build their own Heaven on earth. Look at how God judged them.
Jesus said in Revelation that He set up His kingdom on earth.
So sorry Obama, you wont be setting up God's kingdom anytime soon. If you dont understand these simple concepts of Christianity then I wouldnt consider you one. I feel sorry for the people that believed you at that church.
(It's so easy to see straight through these politicans when they fake having faith).

Perfect example of liberal "Christianity". For liberals, a good Christian is the same as a Marxist Socialist. Got news for you democrats. Karl Marx and Jesus Christ are two different people.

Is Obama running for AntiChrist? Sounds like it.

I'll pass. This guy is not wound too tightly.

It's his parties 'projects' that have his constituents in the hole they are. No passing the buck here. They need to own up to that.

Barak Obama may THINK we can create a kingdom here on earth but God says we cannt. HE says that it can only come through Christ AFTER His second coming. I wonder who is right? Obama or the Sovereign god.

Oh brother. Just have a conservative Republican speak on Sunday at a church service and all hell would break loose. This "kingdom on earth" crap is nothing new. Pat Robertson wants and preaches the same thing. He's trying to play the American public "like a fiddle" and it may be working. If he ever gets into office you will find him to be nothing but an incompetent nitwit.

Another lying democrat with stupid words for "on fire" Christians... don't expect the MSM to denounce this democrat "faith"... only Bush is the evil fake Christian according to the demo owned and card carrying dem media.
The ONE media that isn't demoloon is FOX, so of course all the democrats should now shriek FoxNews out loud and wrent their hippy clothing, and tell us Bush has destroyed the world, all our allies, and will soon bring us into global geothermal uncontrollable warming where the human species will go extinct unless we elect a democrat, then they'ell whine Bush is using fear mongering as an election and control tool, and never know what LYING ABSOLUTE hypocrits they are.
Just sing and scream "the politics of hope !!!!!!" and pretend all the demo lies are real, then your inner lib child will feel good and you can call for the death of republicans like "every good person does", along with the MSM alphabet and crazy Ted's land owning megaliath media.

Barack is a lightweight that you Dems who are so desparate for a savior are pushing forward. Do the country a favor and vote for Hilary or Bill Richardson or some serious minded person on your side who has relevant experience. This guy was worrying about his constituents parking tickets just two years ago & you want to make him leader of the free world??? God have mercy!

We need to be clear here. It's not the liberals who won't see the kingdom of God it's those, regardless of political bent, who don't believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

I just love the republicans on here showing their fascist colors.
On another discussion one was making fun of his name.
Here I see a few suggesting he is muslim (as if muslims are evil people) when he is a christian.

Of course these same republicans may label themselves as christians but their behavior and hatred, racial and religious hatred, is quite unchristlike.

This smearing of Obama came from Fox News and Rush Limpbaugh, who perhaps got some suggestions from Karl Rove's office.

The true face of modern republican ideology comes out here on this board with these comments.

This is the legacy of Karl Rove style politics based on racial hate, division, and demonization.

In the end what you see is that the "demons" are in right wing thought.
    It comes out here.

Here is a line from a Classic religious move.

"From the eternal sea he rises, creating armies on either shore. Turning man against his brother, until man exists no more"

Sounds like a Democrat to me.

That is as rich as it gets.
So one of the tolerant left is telling us they are religious.
I take it that is as long as we agree with all the debauchery that has defined the left to date?
This too funny to be real.

barack must not know what a Christian is, its someone who believes that Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins so you wont go to hell! He just wants to raise your taxes take God out of America, and make us a 2nd or 3rd world country. Also make our military smaller sell our technology to people who want to kill us. Democrats are no longer politicains who care about American people. They would sell there moms soul for a vote. (DONT SUPPORT ILLEAGALS OR THE BUSINESS'S THAT HIRE THEM)
