Coulter: We want 'Jews to be perfected'

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Conservative commentator and best-selling author Ann Coulter may find herself in the midst of a controversy for comments Monday suggesting America would be better if everyone was Christian.

Asked by CNBC host Donny Deutsch what the U.S. looks like in her dreams, Coulter said it would look like the Republican National Convention in 2004

"People were happy,” she said, according to a transcript provided to CNN by CNBC. “They're Christian. They're tolerant. They defend America." (Video: Watch Coulter's comments on CNBC)

When Deutsch responded, "It would be better if we were all Christian?" Coulter said "Yeah."

Deutsch, himself Jewish, continued to press Coulter on her remarks, asking, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians then?"

"Yeah," Coulter responded, adding "Well, it's a lot easier. It's kind of a fast track."

"You can't possibly believe that," Deutsch responded. “You can’t possibly. You’re too educated.”

"Do you know what Christianity is?" Coulter replied. "See, we believe your religion, but you have to obey. We have the fast track program."

Later in the interview Deutsch asked Coulter if she doesn't want any Jews in the world, Coulter responded, "No, we think - we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say."

"Wow, you didn't really say that, did you," Deutsch said.

"Yeah, no,” Coulter replied. “That’s what Christianity is. We believe the Old Testament, but ours is more like Federal Express. You have to obey laws. We know we're all sinners."

Deutsch said he was personally offended.

"No. I'm sorry. It is not intended to be," she said. "I don't think you should take it that way, but that is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews. We believe the Old Testament. As you know from the Old Testament, God was constantly getting fed up with humans for not being able to live up to all the laws. What Christians believe - this is just a statement of what the New Testament is - is that that's why Christ came and died for our sins. Christians believe the Old Testament. You don't believe our testament."

Deutsch continued to call Coulter's comments anti-semetic.

"No, no, - I don't want you being offended by this," she responded. "This is what Christians consider themselves, because our testament is the continuation of your testament. You know that. So we think Jews go to heaven. I mean, [the late Rev. Jerry] Falwell himself said that, but you have to follow laws. Ours is "Christ died for our sins." We consider ourselves perfected Christians. For me to say that for you to become a Christian is to become a perfected Christian is not offensive at all."

I agree, that's a pretty big Adam's Apple she's got going on there.

I think its real name used to Ian Coulter.

Just by reading the response on CNN, I’d say for Ann Coulter and CNBC it’s “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED”. Who would have thought!!! Whether she herself believes all what she spews out is a topic for a different day. The interesting element however, is the fact that a flop talk show on a third graded TV channel with pathetic ratings invites this delusional character, knowing full well that she will at least start a national controversy over either religion or race. Yet the so called Jew welcomes this shemale Christian on his show and pretends to be shocked by the whole discussion. Oh she berated the Jews, run! run! The end result: The ratings beyond his wildest imagination. From lifelong KKK sympathizers to full blown Nazis (Yes we have them in America too) will watch his show with “religious” zeal and fervor.
For any wannabe shock jocks reading this post, if you would like to make a name in this country for yourself, just pretend to be a larger than life bigot and anyone that has a talk show from Chris Mathew of Hardball to Dr. Phil (the divine Psychologist) will invite you on their program and everyone will watch it with uncanny devotion like they are in the Zoo and observing the rare Panda mating rituals! (When they smell each others behinds, it’s quite a sight). In no time CNN will blog you in the Ticker and no matter how hateful you are, some people will find a way to support you. From there on sky will be the only limit. You would be able to write books, articles in the Wall Street Journal and maybe able to get your own slot on FOX news Channel!

What continues to bother me is how these conservative pundints like Coulter, Limbaugh, Hannity and O' Reilly get away with this stuff. When ever they say something like this they are passed off as "entertainers" trying to sell a book or get attention. It must be because the "Liberal Media" is picking on them. The fact that these folks remain on the air is proof that the "liberal media" no longer exists and has been replaced by state run news corporations like Fox.
Now,please expain to me how the Jews control the media. Last I looked Rupert Murdoch wasn't wearing a Star of David".

The rantings of this woman – beloved by so many misguided people – are the reason I gave up on Christianity as a teenager. The bigotry and intolerance she displays is beyond belief. I support free speech, but when a nut case like this spouts off, I have my moments of doubt.

WOW, it takes a religious article to get you Americans so fired up! That's scary. Come on people, you don't have that many in your country who reeealy believe in an invisible entity do you?
My mom and dad sent me to Sunday school when I was little so they could have some "alone" time. After a few of these classes I had it figured out. There were those out there who were trying very hard to make me believe in a fairy tale.
People, believe in yourself, your country, your values, believe in a lot of things, but not in a silly story which has been passed down in the years to make you feel better about your life. You nor anyone else has a shred of evidence to support the existence of a god. Just because you say it is, doesn't make it so.

in the last 5 years I have seen this country turn into the movie Demolitian man with Sly Stallone, cops putting up camera's everywhere which will do nothing at all but film the crime, kids being handcuffed and taking at of school for drawing stick figures of someone holding a knife in their hand, constant talk of people changing Freedom of speech, talk of banning people from smoking in their own homes, in bars which has been going on for decades, the one or two whining christians caused all of this, if they didn't like the smell of smoke then get the hell out because must people do and I'm not one of them, I believe Bush and his regime are trying to forse a holy war right here in this country, every job you go for now you must be drug tested like your on parole from jail, the religious freaks in this country better get back in their closets and their churches on sundays were they belong because the mainstream in not like this and everywhere I people are raving angry and now I got to go on this page which is my favorite page to read news and I have to see what this wack job female writes about everyone being christians, does anyone remember what america is about, enough is enough there is to much human control coming from the government like a little country we all know back in the 40's, germany, hitler, facists, this is whats going on in america right now all because some planes that must people believe our government allowed to happen so they can sell this new holy way of life in this country, what happened to Howard Stern, government going apter the porn industry, the Janet jackson superbowl thing, now cheerleaders in the NFL can't strech a certain way, where am I, not america, whats next beer being illegal, drinking pepsi or coke, having sex before getting married, while we get raped for more money to fill the insurance VAULT, all this GPS stuff, RFID CHIPS, I'm starting to think the Government wrote the bible just so they could prepare people later on down the line for what they want to do and what to get ready for, there is constant violation's on our civil right's and liberties, coming from our own Government, totalitarian dictatership is what is see and many others also, there is no terrorist here except the usa. fed. gov, they don't care about what america stands for, freedom of speech, religion, civil right and you do not have the right to film me without my permission, why am I saying this don't we all already know this, filming someone without their consent is a million dollar lawsuit isn't it, tell this women to go back into her CHUCH CLOSET, AND STAY THEIR, because the beer drinker, the pot smokers, the people who like to let their wild side out on the weekends after a hard week of work, including all the prostitute buying senetors, drunk driving and probably cocain snorting mayors, and governors which as far as must people are concerned is normal way of life, not speaking and bowing to god ever damm day of their livee, go away jesus freaks, I believe in god, I'll never commit murder, so i have nothing to worry about when its comes to god, I or anyone else who has done any sins other then Murder such as stealing something sometime in your life, cheating on your wife or husband, crap like that is not gods main concern, killing people is gods main concern, you will be forgivin by god and you will make it in to heaven, there are freaks out there that think if you use th F work you might go to hell, OMG get a real life please.

    Mike in Chicago,
"I do agree , if the whole world is Christian, there will never be any problem, thank you Jesus. "
    ??????????????
Okay, imagine that all other religions are gone. But wait, there's Roman Catholic, Baptist, Episcopalian, Methodist, Unitarian....and who knows how many others. They are all Christian. Who decides which one of the Christian faiths is the right one? There will still be fighting, name calling, and possible an all out war....over a sub-sect of general Christianity.

Ann Coulter's 15 minutes of fame are officially up. To claim on one hand tolerance and on the other suggest we should all "look like Christians" is hypocrisy in the extreme. If the Republicans were smart they would distance themselves from Coulter and others like her who actually do harm to the party.
Her "fast track" comment combined with her "perfected" comment about Jews puts her in the Nazi party, not the Republican Party.
And one other idea, how about the news outlets simply stop inviting this woman on any of their shows. That might be a quick way to end her career.

Ann Coulter should not be given a pedestal. America stands for tolerance, not labeling people by religious beliefs; so I think we might as well consider her anti-American and stop paying attention to her.

Poor Ann Coulter, too many drugs without a helmet have scrambled her brains. If she's a Christian then I'm not a retired catholic.

If everyone in this country were Christian I'll wager it would take little time before the various denominations within that confused faith would be at each other's throats fighting to decide if whose sect can beat up whose sect. How entertaining that would be.

The trouble with organized religion is not so much the amusing competition, but the all too many clowns who claim to follow one or the other and don't have a clue what they are talking about. It is all too silly to me. Perhaps God is just as amused.

I do not believe that people should be forced to convert to Christianity, but I do believe that Christianity should not be forced out of our American principles.

The founding fathers of this country were Christian period. We should not take down Christian based themes, statues, symbols or verbage from our government because other faiths find it offensive. This is America and on American soil, Christianity is the original and predominant faith. When in another country, I would not presume to change that country's history.

    Conservative commentator Ann Coulter.
WASHINGTON (CNN) – Conservative commentator and best-selling author Ann Coulter may find herself in the midst of a controversy for comments Monday suggesting America would be better if everyone was Christian.

When Deutsch responded, "It would be better if we were all Christian?" Coulter said "Yeah."

Deutsch is simply asking for a return to that value system and for those that disagree, that is your right. But if you do not like it please do not try to change this country's history. A suggestion would be to live in a location that shares in your same religious ideals.

Donny should know by now that the level of education has little to do with one being a bigot. Ann Coulter, once again by opening her racist mouth, has proved that she is a not only an educated idiot but a racist bigot. It amazes me to see the Donny's of the world give her opportunity after opportunity to plug her books.... or is it a smart ploy to give her enough air time to keep making such stupid commments that at some point she will force the media to totally ignore her.... lol all expect Hannity who I think is in love with her. Wonder what that says about him!

Regarding Ann Coulter's Remarks, I found this dated from 2003 on chuckcurrie.blogs.com

"You won’t be surprised. But The Heritage Foundation has an essay posted on their web site by Ann Coulter that is about as anti-Semitic as you can get.

"In addition to having a number of family deaths among them, the Democrats' other big idea – too nuanced for a bumper sticker – is that many of them have Jewish ancestry. There's Joe Lieberman: Always Jewish. Wesley Clark: Found Out His Father Was Jewish in College. John Kerry: Jewish Since He Began Presidential Fund-Raising. Howard Dean: Married to a Jew. Al Sharpton: Circumcised. Even Hillary Clinton claimed to have unearthed some evidence that she was a Jew – along with the long lost evidence that she was a Yankees fan. And that, boys and girls, is how the Jews survived thousands of years of persecution: by being susceptible to pandering."

I am a jew, and I am MORE than offended by all of this.

    Suzie in Indianapolis,
Okay, you say that Christianity is infact monothiestic. The last paragraph, however, you claim to follow Jesus. Not God. You also say the Holy Spirit is an inseperable part of Father and Son. Notice what I said here...Father AND Son. That's two. (Three with the Holy Spirit) One thing I don't understand is hardcore Christians claming to me monothiestic, but then a few minutes later praying to Mary to forgive someone. Mary makes 4. Monothiestic??

    Hey LA Jon,

"When a republican hears something they don't like, they turn the channel or walk away."

    You're blind (probably wilfully).
See Moveon.org ad – waste of Congress' time + taxpayer $. 2) Disgusting backlash against the 12-yr old fr. Maryland + his brain-damaged sister for having the "audacity" to speak out on behalf of legislation that saved the well-being of their family. That's just the last month.
You want hypocrisy? look in the mirror – (see Mark Foley, T. Haggard, Vitters, "wide-stance Larry," etc...) hiding behind their moral rhetoric to consolidate their power while living contradictory lives. That's the essences of hypocrisy. To that can be added anyone who uses Christianity as self-serving proof of their moral superiority, while at the same time being strictly intolerant of anyone different from them – in obvious contradiction to the teachings of Jesus (see Coulter, O'Reilly, etc...).

Jon, Keep drinking the kool-aid and
using "spooky" words like Communism. Like all the far right, your self-righteous, illogical opinions reek of intolerance and ignorance.
