Coulter: We want 'Jews to be perfected'

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Conservative commentator and best-selling author Ann Coulter may find herself in the midst of a controversy for comments Monday suggesting America would be better if everyone was Christian.

Asked by CNBC host Donny Deutsch what the U.S. looks like in her dreams, Coulter said it would look like the Republican National Convention in 2004

"People were happy,” she said, according to a transcript provided to CNN by CNBC. “They're Christian. They're tolerant. They defend America." (Video: Watch Coulter's comments on CNBC)

When Deutsch responded, "It would be better if we were all Christian?" Coulter said "Yeah."

Deutsch, himself Jewish, continued to press Coulter on her remarks, asking, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians then?"

"Yeah," Coulter responded, adding "Well, it's a lot easier. It's kind of a fast track."

"You can't possibly believe that," Deutsch responded. “You can’t possibly. You’re too educated.”

"Do you know what Christianity is?" Coulter replied. "See, we believe your religion, but you have to obey. We have the fast track program."

Later in the interview Deutsch asked Coulter if she doesn't want any Jews in the world, Coulter responded, "No, we think - we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say."

"Wow, you didn't really say that, did you," Deutsch said.

"Yeah, no,” Coulter replied. “That’s what Christianity is. We believe the Old Testament, but ours is more like Federal Express. You have to obey laws. We know we're all sinners."

Deutsch said he was personally offended.

"No. I'm sorry. It is not intended to be," she said. "I don't think you should take it that way, but that is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews. We believe the Old Testament. As you know from the Old Testament, God was constantly getting fed up with humans for not being able to live up to all the laws. What Christians believe - this is just a statement of what the New Testament is - is that that's why Christ came and died for our sins. Christians believe the Old Testament. You don't believe our testament."

Deutsch continued to call Coulter's comments anti-semetic.

"No, no, - I don't want you being offended by this," she responded. "This is what Christians consider themselves, because our testament is the continuation of your testament. You know that. So we think Jews go to heaven. I mean, [the late Rev. Jerry] Falwell himself said that, but you have to follow laws. Ours is "Christ died for our sins." We consider ourselves perfected Christians. For me to say that for you to become a Christian is to become a perfected Christian is not offensive at all."

Ah yes, I think I see the agenda liberals are pushing... freedom of speech, but only for things you agree with, right?

Gotta love that good ol' fashioned liberal garrotte of Political Correctness... anything you don't like or don't agree with, or can't compete against in the arena of ideas, then simply label it "hate speech" and then take legal action to shut down the messenger.

I am surprised that the mainstream media still gives airtime to such shallow talking head. Ms. Coulter is the brash and bitter version of Paris Hilton.

Most religions believe that theirs is the most beneficial and want to spread the word. What's wrong w/ that? Muslim extremists do it by lopping off your head. Ann is saying that Christians do it through love and naturally they think Christianity is better than Judaism. Why is this a news flash?

Why should it be hard to believe Ann is making this up? Christians throughout history have conquered in the name of perfecting other cultures and religions. Why should their own roots be less a victim?

I HAVE A SOLUTION TO OUR PROBLEM!!!

AC is 45 years old, and has never married. And as we all know, life has its price, to be paid in sacrifices. What I mean is, is that I would love to see to it that someone courts her and takes her down the wedding aisle to his bed.

In other words, AC is an aging woman who needs to loosen up and get laid.

Coulter is really Hitler & Genghis Khan combined. She wants to convert everbody to her brand of religion. Its the crusades all over again. She hates Jews, Muslims, Catholics and almost everybody else that has a different belief.

what's the problem here. i am a secular but proud jew, and i'm no more offended by what she said than by christianity itself. at the core, most christian denominations say that a jew can find salvation either by following all the 613 mitvot of torah or by taking the "fast-track" of accepting JC as saviour. she's just espousing real christianity. which is also to recognize that the gospels are the source of almost all jew-hatred that has existed for the last 2,000 years.

If there were an iconic way of explaining why the left thinks the right is completely nuts Ann Coulter would be it. As a true conservative I am ashamed and insulted that she is referred to as a member of the same group of idealogues as me. She's no conservative. She's an intolerant harpie.

Thank God Ann Coulter is not a Christian, can one imagine anyone who holds her views being associated with Christianity. She should read about the teachings of Jesus Christ and the true teachings of all the other religions. God willing she may see the error of her ways and find peace, who knows she may end up a decent person. God bless you Ann Coulter and keep you free from sin.

Posted By Lakinsey Charlotte, NC: "...WHY TREAT MRS. COULTER LIKE THIS? SHE IS SO RIGHT AND WE ALL KNOW THIS..."

While I respect your convictions Lakinsey I question your conclusions. I do not agree that Ann Coulter is right. I don't care if Ann Coulter is a Christian. She is still a poor spokesperson for any group, whether it be politics, gender, or special interest. There is very little Ann Coulter has to offer in a civilized discussion on anything, especially religion.

Ann cannot discuss an issue without resorting to name calling and insults. A perfect example of this is when Ann referred to John Edwards as a derogatory reference for gay people. She cannot bring herself to discuss an issue with intelegence. She invariably falls back to the lowest denominator of her persona. Her idea of debate is name calling and insults.

Ann Coulter is not the type of person I would use as an indicator of my religion, my politics, or my nationality.

Don't worry Ms. Coulter, there are hundreds of millions pure Christians in America that will support you. America will be remain as the greatest nation in the world only if there are more Christians than all combined non-Christians (including atheist, gay, lesbians, muslim, etc). I know gay and lesbians are not religion, but even though they might be "Christians" but they are not really Christians. Only those who are really following Jesus can be called Christians.

Most of the liberals just want to get their rights in America without ever thinking about their obligation (if they say that they also pay taxes, that's because they are forced to do so not because of willingness to pay). Much further they will never think about sacrifice, all in their mind are only their rights, period.

Something becomes big only if there is sacrifice.

Sadly, many people on the right, such as Ann, think they are Christians. Being of the faith does not mean you are faithful to the faith, and she is definitely not. God help her. This is why so many people hate Americans, because of idiots like her claiming to be Christians when all they do is spew hate.

I loved her comments. That's just another reason I like her so much.Once again, the liberals want everyone to be tolerant but them! What we need to realize is just as the bible states: we are not wrestling against each other, but against spirits and principalites. There is a spiritual war going on in this world and until we realize that, we always be at each other's throats. As for the Jews, they denied Jesus when He was on this earth and they will continue to deny Him, until the day He returns.Any Jews that follow and believe upon Jesus, are no longer Jews-they are Christians-which means followers of Christ. She hit the nail right on the head. Jesus was our perfect example, and we are to be like Him. We cannot do this in our power, but, that's why God gives us the precious gift of His Holy Spirit. In His power we can be made perfect. God's word says, we must "be Ye holy for I am holy", and we must "live free and seperated from sin". If it was not possible for us to do that, He never would've said it. Christ came so that we may do this. Not so we can say "yes Jesus died for my sins, so I am going to continue to sin". The truth is just the truth. And, God's word is the truth. If you choose not to believe it, it does not make it an untruth. This is why He gives us freewill.

Ann Coulter does not know what she is talking about and from what I have read on this website neither do most other people who profess to be either Christians or Jews. Jehovah or Jesus Christ and Elohim or God stopped communicating with the Jewish religion
around 500 BC which is when the Old Testement ended and Jesus Christ or Jehovah and Elohim or God stopped communicating with what was left of the Church Jesus Christ or Jehovah established aroud 100 AD or before. See Acts 3 19,20,and 21 where God is saying in the days of the refreshing he will send Jesus Christ again to preach onto you. Earlier in Issiah God or Jehovah says in the days of the refreshing few people will listen.
Jesus Christ came to the Jews as promised in the Old Testement to update or and give them more than strict laws to obey that they had to follow because of the stiffneckness of the Isreali people and they would not listen. He was trying to give them the same religion
he gave the early Christians before he gave it to them to follow.
The people who call themselves Christians today bear no resemblence to the earlier Chistians of the New Testement and the Jewish people did not recognize their ownj God Jehovah when He came to then as Jesus Christ.
The only difference between the religion that God and Jehovah gave Adam
down to the Jewish people and the early Christians is the degree of knowledge he gave him to practice the religion which He thought they could handle. The so called Christians who believe that all they have to do to get into Heaven is believe in Jesus Christ are in for a rude awakening.

Wow. How can Ann Coulter be representing pure Christians when she represents everything Christians are against: she has an insatiable greed for money and power, she boasts about being promiscuous and sleeping with random men, and she encourages intolerance toward the sick and the weak: all the people Jesus vowed to protect.

Any Christian who follows the gospell of Ann Coulter will undoubtedly be joining her in Hell.

    This is news???
This is not anti-semetic. It's simply yet another installment of baloney from someone who claims to be a Christian and is totally unaware of what the Christian faith means? Fast track? FedEx? God have mercy.

so she claims that Christians are tolerant, but then wants a world where only Christians exist? what in the world does tolerance mean, then? I think it means to be accepting and respectful of different religions, races, ethnicities, & cultures. honestly, ann coulter is just constantly trying to be more and more out there w/her commentary just to get the attention and money.
ps christianity is a fast track to what exactly? to god? how is it swifter
than any other religion? i'm once again just missing nothing, aren't i?

Pretty sad day in America/The World when we regress back to the schoolyard mentally:

"Our religion is better than your Religion!!!!!!! Na-Na Na-Na-Na!!!!"

Since "some" of the people commenting on here act sound like children...Maybe they'd like to go the whole 10 yards and debate about "Cooties" too? 😉
