Coulter: We want 'Jews to be perfected'
Conservative commentator Ann Coulter.
WASHINGTON (CNN) - Conservative commentator and best-selling author Ann Coulter may find herself in the midst of a controversy for comments Monday suggesting America would be better if everyone was Christian.
Asked by CNBC host Donny Deutsch what the U.S. looks like in her dreams, Coulter said it would look like the Republican National Convention in 2004
"People were happy,” she said, according to a transcript provided to CNN by CNBC. “They're Christian. They're tolerant. They defend America." (Video: Watch Coulter's comments on CNBC)
When Deutsch responded, "It would be better if we were all Christian?" Coulter said "Yeah."
Deutsch, himself Jewish, continued to press Coulter on her remarks, asking, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians then?"
"Yeah," Coulter responded, adding "Well, it's a lot easier. It's kind of a fast track."
"You can't possibly believe that," Deutsch responded. “You can’t possibly. You’re too educated.”
"Do you know what Christianity is?" Coulter replied. "See, we believe your religion, but you have to obey. We have the fast track program."
Later in the interview Deutsch asked Coulter if she doesn't want any Jews in the world, Coulter responded, "No, we think - we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say."
"Wow, you didn't really say that, did you," Deutsch said.

"Yeah, no,” Coulter replied. “That’s what Christianity is. We believe the Old Testament, but ours is more like Federal Express. You have to obey laws. We know we're all sinners."
Deutsch said he was personally offended.
"No. I'm sorry. It is not intended to be," she said. "I don't think you should take it that way, but that is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews. We believe the Old Testament. As you know from the Old Testament, God was constantly getting fed up with humans for not being able to live up to all the laws. What Christians believe - this is just a statement of what the New Testament is - is that that's why Christ came and died for our sins. Christians believe the Old Testament. You don't believe our testament."
Deutsch continued to call Coulter's comments anti-semetic.
"No, no, - I don't want you being offended by this," she responded. "This is what Christians consider themselves, because our testament is the continuation of your testament. You know that. So we think Jews go to heaven. I mean, [the late Rev. Jerry] Falwell himself said that, but you have to follow laws. Ours is "Christ died for our sins." We consider ourselves perfected Christians. For me to say that for you to become a Christian is to become a perfected Christian is not offensive at all."

Ann is the "classic dumb blonde."
For those of you saying, "Ann Coulter is a talk-show host...a conservative shock-jock known to have an edgy sense of humor," "Nobody treat this like it's a big deal" and giving us lessons in Christian theology regarding the "revealed" nature of the Old vs. the New Testament, need I remind you that you these are the comments and attitudes that allowed Hitler to rise to power and kill 10-13 million people, including Jews, homosexuals and the handicapped, among others?

A NEW FORM OF JEW IS NECESARY TO LIVE IN THIS WORLD AND BE TOLERANT OF OTHERS. THIS APPLY MOSTLY TO AMERICAN AND SOME WESTERN EUROPE JEWS . AS ANN COULTER REMARKS THEY NEED TO BE PERFECTED (IN THE GOOD SENSE OF THE WORD) OTHERWISE THEIR ARROGANCE WILL PASS FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION AND MANY WARS WILL HAUNT ALL OF HUMANITY UNTIL THE END OF MANKIND.

What an oxymoron – "They're Christian. They're tolerant." Tolerant of what – everyone who looks, thinks, acts, and believes just as they do?
Reminds us why Jefferson and the other founding fathers greatness is in part due to pressing for separation of church and state. More havic in history has happened as a result of instatutionalizing the prejedices of religion into law. Coulter needs tomove to the middle east where she (or her male counterpart) can take part in executing (sic) these policies.

Didn't she say in regards to her view of the ideal America "People were happy...They're tolerant...." Wow. Contradicting herself within two interview questions. Thats absurd...even for Ann.
Don't let this woman fool you. She knows exactly what she is doing and saying. Yes, she is far too educated and worldly to be such a bigot. However, her ridiculous statements are what keep her in the news, and she knows it. This is nothing more than someone screaming, "Look at me! Look at me!"

Anne Coulter has gone too far with her extremely biased and myopic views. It's one thing to have these views, which are pathetic and narrow-minded, but to be given a stage to broadcast them is inexcusable. I feel she has earned herself an early retirement from public exposure. I am deeply offended by her anti-Jewish rant.
I'm disgusted by this woman and her stupid comments. If she was truly a "good Christian" then she wouldn't spew such hatred and bigotry....she's a hypocrite.

Several comments regarding Ann's high intelligence. Too bad she doesn't use it for serious discourse. Instead she cynically panders to a segment of the population unable to think for themselves.

I heard the full interview this morning on my local talk radio station. I have to say that this is probably the most bigoted view of religion I've ever heard. I find that her willingness to use a Seinfeld episode to back up her "fact" suggests that she has no knowledge of what she was speaking.
I was very glad to hear Deutsch stand up to her and call her out for what she is. I also loved that she set herself up and he simply allowed her to do so.
Hell for Ann Coulter would be heaven for most people.

It is to laugh - all Ann Coulter has to do is open her mouth and anyone with working braincells knows that she is anything BUT intelligent.
WHY is Ann Coulter still being shown on the news and in papers? To repeat: she's an offensive, ignorant, intolerant *insert noun of choice*.
Given the way certain members of her conservative group behave and believe and try to portray themselves as "mainstream America," I would just like the rest of the world to know that the rest of the USA are not goose-stepping brownshirts. We do NOT adhere to Coulter and her group's warped views.

I understand that brainless people often times want attention and publicity but this has got to stop. Ann Coulter is an embarrassment to this country and she must learn to keep her mouth closed. She has NOTHING positive to say and each and every time she opens her mouth, she hurts people and divides humans. It is incredible that she is STILL on television.
Please stop reporting about her. Please stop replaying her hateful rhetoric about people who have different beliefs than her. She is unbelievable!!!!! Why must she always take entire groups of people and put them down? Can't she articulate her views without being a racist, ethnocentric bigot?
