Coulter: We want 'Jews to be perfected'
Conservative commentator Ann Coulter.
WASHINGTON (CNN) - Conservative commentator and best-selling author Ann Coulter may find herself in the midst of a controversy for comments Monday suggesting America would be better if everyone was Christian.
Asked by CNBC host Donny Deutsch what the U.S. looks like in her dreams, Coulter said it would look like the Republican National Convention in 2004
"People were happy,” she said, according to a transcript provided to CNN by CNBC. “They're Christian. They're tolerant. They defend America." (Video: Watch Coulter's comments on CNBC)
When Deutsch responded, "It would be better if we were all Christian?" Coulter said "Yeah."
Deutsch, himself Jewish, continued to press Coulter on her remarks, asking, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians then?"
"Yeah," Coulter responded, adding "Well, it's a lot easier. It's kind of a fast track."
"You can't possibly believe that," Deutsch responded. “You can’t possibly. You’re too educated.”
"Do you know what Christianity is?" Coulter replied. "See, we believe your religion, but you have to obey. We have the fast track program."
Later in the interview Deutsch asked Coulter if she doesn't want any Jews in the world, Coulter responded, "No, we think - we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say."
"Wow, you didn't really say that, did you," Deutsch said.

"Yeah, no,” Coulter replied. “That’s what Christianity is. We believe the Old Testament, but ours is more like Federal Express. You have to obey laws. We know we're all sinners."
Deutsch said he was personally offended.
"No. I'm sorry. It is not intended to be," she said. "I don't think you should take it that way, but that is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews. We believe the Old Testament. As you know from the Old Testament, God was constantly getting fed up with humans for not being able to live up to all the laws. What Christians believe - this is just a statement of what the New Testament is - is that that's why Christ came and died for our sins. Christians believe the Old Testament. You don't believe our testament."
Deutsch continued to call Coulter's comments anti-semetic.
"No, no, - I don't want you being offended by this," she responded. "This is what Christians consider themselves, because our testament is the continuation of your testament. You know that. So we think Jews go to heaven. I mean, [the late Rev. Jerry] Falwell himself said that, but you have to follow laws. Ours is "Christ died for our sins." We consider ourselves perfected Christians. For me to say that for you to become a Christian is to become a perfected Christian is not offensive at all."

Someone said this Thing has an "edgy sense of humor"?!?! This Thing is a disgrace to EVERYONE and is the classic example of how someone wasted a good education. Her alma mater ought to rescind her diploma/degree. As for her height of intolerance, it only reflects how low her own self-esteem must be. Christians...brings to mind that thought-provoking bumper sticker, "Who would Jesus bomb?"

This is in response to Matt Dooley. Please, find the transcripts of all Ahmadinajad's speeches. NONE of them says he wants all dead. He said Israel should be wiped off the map. He is refering to the state of Israel. He didnt say he wanted Israelis wiped off the map or jews wiped off the map. People creating "facts" cause too much of the worlds problems. Ahamdinajad is a loonybin but dont put words in his mouth.
Wait – so Ann is supposed to one of these 'tolerant' Christians? Wow! Her platform for her hate speech should have been taken away a long time ago. Now that she is attacking the Jewish faith, maybe it will.
Again the Liberal media runs off with something, exploits and twists it to turn someone into something they are not. Ann Coulter is not anti-semetic. She is also not a trained Christiand pastor, therefore her point was not well explained.. but being a conservative christian I do understand what she is coming from. Jewish people still live under the law. Christians believe that Christ came and died for our sins, therefore, we do NOT live under the law, in fact, for those who do live under the law, I don't see how it is even possible to make it to heaven–even the bible says that not one person can live up to the glory of God. We are humans, therefore sinners, and if not for Christ, none of us would make it. But Praise God for Jesus Christ, who paid the price for our sins. Right on Ann–don't let the liberal media get you down!

Benji and Muhammed Ali Baba have it right. According to this beautiful woman's "fast track" logic, Islam is the Perfected Belief, since Muslims believe everything in Judaism and Christianity, respecting Abraham, David, Jesus etc as totally VIP prophets, and the Quran is really the lastest edition of everything else that preceeded it!
This poor lady is either ignorant, bigoted, or both. She respects neither her own belief nor anyone else's. I feel sorry for her.
Ever since she showed up on the Today Show in a short, black cocktail dress (Hello, it was 7:00am EST!) and appeared to be high on meth while attacking 9/11 widows, it is hard to understand why anyone listens to anything she says. She is clearly mentally ill. Hate tends to do that.

Coulter is a nut job, in that I honestly think she has some mental health issues. What else would explain some of the absolutely bizarre comments she has made? But hey, comments like this get her in the lime light, which consequently leads to increased public appearances and book sales. Nut job does not always equal dummy!
That she could be called a "Best Selling Author" scares me. That alot of people find her type of rhetoric worth reading about. Makes you wonder what the world is coming to.

At the root of the worlds most serious problems are fundamental disagreements over religion that will never be reconciled. if there is a god, he would make us all stop believing in him so we could consider living in peace with each other!!!
I just want to know what the Ann Coulter thinks if I told her that Islam could be taken as the perfected word of God as well. I am an athiest and really don't care what people believe, but Islam does believe in the god of Abraham. So, who knows what to believe, I just know that the bible does say that man can only be perfected through god, not through the Christian Right.

Listen, I am a recovering Christian. Brainwashed as a child, but fortunate to see the truth. You Christians believed in Santa Claus until you were told he wasn't real. While Christ was a real human, he could very well be no different than any other man. ITs just that you, your parents that brainwashed your young mind, and all of your insecurities about your meager existence have to be answered in order to give your lives meaning. If the religious were secure about their existence in this world and quit worrying about a pretend afterlife, perhaps we could focus more on fixing the real problems of this world. I think its a sham, and the brainwashed lemmings buy it , and the evil, self righteous profit from it. Have faith in yourself and spread goodness to be a truly good human being. God might just be an unnecessary, fear based, fictional middleman. But hey, whatever it takes your weak selves to feel safe. I don't care what religion our nations' founders were. It doesnt have relevance. Religious nuts have hijacked the founders' faith to pass judgment and try to make people think like they do.
Thats my opinion but I am humble enough, unlike many of the religious, to understand that I really don't know, and won't , until I die. The arrogance to think you know, absolutely, without doubt, the meaning of life is incredible to me.

I'm glad someone is finally saying "Adam's apple." I live for the day when someone proves what I have suspected for some time now...that AC is a transgendered "female." Not that THAT would make her a bad person. She's a bad person no matter what sex she is.
I'm a liberal and a Jew, but my reaction has nothing to do with either of those things: She has a right to her opinion, Deutch asked for it in his interview, and t.v. execs even make money by putting her on the air. It's the distasteful side of our freedoms in America. But, I shudder to think what it must be like living inside her skin... She's the poster child for the notion that you can have fame, money, brains and looks and STILL be nothing more than a miserable wretch. She's laughing all the way to the bank, but she's got about as much peace of mind as a snake oil salesman. As much grace and credibility as well. I'm just sorry this event reminded me that she exists.
If I am following her tortured logic correctly, Jews get to Heaven by obeying God's laws,Christians get a free pass because Jesus died on the cross, the "fast track" if you will, no wonder she behaves the way she does. I wonder how many Christians Ann Coulter speaks for.
Well, here she goes again! Coulter does her best work peddling smut and insults to anyone who doesn't walk with her in lock step! And guess what punishment she gets for comments like this and about the 9/11 widows, more spots on television "news" programs and more books on the best sellers lists. It is time to shut her up. Stop using her as an opinion "expert." Seems like the only opinion she honestly has is how short her skirt is going to be on network television. Why not interview Rosie O'Donnell as well. She is just as credible!
Let's see...Al Gore just won a Nobel Peace Prize for his amazing work on Global Warming. Ann Coulter couldn't win an argument even if she had the facts to back up her ridiculous, gin soaked statements. Since she's always dressed for a party give her another cocktail and send her on her way, and focus on intelligent people.
