I am embarrased to even engage in any online blog discussions of political candidates. Unfortunately it has only become a forum for personal attacks, out right disrespect towards others and their opinions, and inane claims and accusations from all sides from people who are just repeating other generalized opinions that they hear on the television or radio. It goes back to that saying from elementary shcool "You don't have to blow someone else's candle out to make yours burn brighter". Come on people, we aren't locked in a glass jar together with little air to breathe. Contribute something worthwile to the discussions, refrain from personal insults, or stay off these forums. Some of us would like to debate the issues respectfully.

    P.S.-Hillary for President 2008 and 2012!

Will Bill in a supporting or major role, Hillary is a formidable and credible President to lead the country. It's like having two Presidents at one time.

Bill Clinton will go down in history as one of our better presidents. So he lied about a sexual encounter outside of marriage. Those who led the impeachment trial were doing the same thing at the same time or had already done it prior to the impeachment hearings.
Let us look at the FACTS, Newt Gringrich was doing the same thing at the same time, so was Livingston. Barr, Hyde had extramarital affairs prior to Clinton and had children out of wedlock. Hutchinson was having an affair. Those not in the federal government like Giuliani was having an affair at the same time he was criticizing Clinton and eventually divorced his wife number two and was trying to hide his assets to cheat her out of what was rightfully hers.
I say the pot cannot call the kettle black.
Let us go back to other presidents, FDR, Dwight Eisenhower, and JFK, and it has been reported that LBJ also had an affair. How many of them have taken the vile criticizism that the Clintons have endured?
They have raised a daughter that has been the epitome of good behavior. She was never picked for drinking or abusing drugs.
When Chelsea enrolled in Oxford, on good morning American, it was said, now is she fair game.
Did they think she was to hunted? Did they think she must have hid something?
That was an unfortunate statement and I emailed the person that said it and said she should apologies on good morning America, but no she would not recount the statement

Lets see.... "pervert and adulterer" those sound like PERSONAL short comings to me (except for lying to congress).

Lets contrast that to the 700 plus direct violation to the Constitution Of The United States by King George; or how about starting a "war" without figuring out what to do AFTER it was started. Lets not talk about a place called Sudan; or would you rather talk about the huge loss of our young people and their ruined lives that they have offered to give to this Nation and to have it WASTED, on what? A nation of people that can't stand us and would like us to do nothing better than leave (oh yeah! and thanks for the mess).

If Hilary can take it so can I. Bill is no longer in office so those issues are truly between he and "Hil".

You wouldn't want "folks" looking into your bedroom telling you how to run your life, so trying doing the same for others.

I probably won't vote for her either, however this is America (despite King George & Darth) lets elect Hilary (or not) based on her own merit, just like the others.

LET THE PROCESS WORK! It has so far.

Bill Clinton left 5 trillion dollars in the USA bank account WHEN HE LEFT office. The only president to do so!
We need these kinds of people in office, not the over-spending debt producing Republicans.
I am a strong fiscal conservative.

Under the Competant leadership of Bill Clinton the SPEND and BORROW Republicans were held in check and the deficit was eliminated.
Under the incompetant leadership of Bush, the BORROW and SPEND Republican controlled house, like a buunh of drunken bums, gave TAX CUTS to the richest who interests they serve, looted the Social Security fund and ran up another $2,000,000,000,000 DEBT.

Chris, you keep harping on Alinsky. Hillary wrote a thesis in college about him, so what? I wrote one once on Napoleon, does that mean that I now plan to invade most of Europe? Also, you have previously stated that he was her teacher and that is not true.

Wow! The kool-aid is strong in CT.
But seariously, the actual total US debt was about 6T in 2000 compared to 8T now, our total GDT has grown from 7T to 12T. Those are better financial numbers than most European countries and American households.

I'm not a Hillary supporter at this point, frankly I'm voting for Obama. However, Chris from Middletown has been spreading political spin about alleged ties between Hillary and Saul Alinsky. For the record, Hillary was neither a student nor a mentor of Alinsky. I've researched for weeks and I can't find credible (non-partisan) evidence stating that she espouses Alinsky’s views. Hell, I even read all 92 pages of her thesis (which is posted on the internet). Yes she did a thesis on Alinsky and she met him three times. Let’s not forget, she wrote this thesis nearly 40 years ago in college.

Chris, if you are reading this, I'm not being critical of you or your belief that something is amiss. I simply request that you cite your sources so that I can judge for myself.

Again, pointing out problems with this country currently, doesn't change the fact that Bill Clinton is a sexual predator.

If you knew of 3 women who claimed one of your friends sexually assaulted them, wouldn't you begin to believe the women.

This isn't about adultery, its about a sexual predator. There is a big difference.

Bill Clinton was a pretty good President. Certainly better than George Bush. But as fas as I am aware, being better than George is not the criteria needed. I would hope we would want someone in office that was good, and not a sexual predator. At least I hope we can find someone.

Now, why would a women stick with a guy she knew to be a sexual predator? I am sure it's because she knew something was in it for her. Maybe, possibly the Presidency.

Facts, facts, and more facts... Please get them before you blast an entry full of mis information spoon fed to you by some partisan Group. Does Bill have a character flaw. YES. Was it EXPLOITED as no politician has ever had to deal with. YES. Did his personal failures make him a failure as president NO. His presidency was a success IN SPITE of being dogged and persecuted. AND... his presidency was successful (and this will 'kill' the righties to admit) IN SPITE of the republican Congress he had to deal with. The surplus: Clintons policy was to pay down the debt "as we go". That policy was stopped IMMEDIATELY upon Bush II entering the White House, because it was popular to hate ANYTHING Clinton did (even if it was good for the country... now how stupid is that?!) Gas was $20 a barrel. It is now $94 a barrel! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, right?!?) Terrorism.. BIN LADEN ATTACKED THE WORLD TRADE CENTER IN '93 BECAUSE WE HAD A BASE IN SAUDI ARABIA FROM THE '91 WAR!!! (look it up!) Clinton KEPT the base there. After the 2001 attack, BUSH II "CLOSED IT" and CUT AND RAN!! (again... look it up and see if we still have a base in Saudi Arabia). AND, Clinton thwarted the VERY REAL millinium bomb plot! He didn't need to tout it, and he didn't need to MAKE UP threats to claim he thwarted... FACTS FACTS FACTS. GET THEM!!!!! THEY ARE FREE!!

I agree with your critisism of Hillary 110% and you don't have to sell me to Obama, I'm already supporting him.

Though Bill Clinton had ONE proven marital infidelity, I do think that he did an excellent job running the country. Notice, I'm not using character attacks. Too many people attack candidates on character on not on the issues. That is why our politicians are not respected enough. Everyone knows that most politicians from both parties are corrupt in some way.

Facts facts facts eh? I see nothing to refute the "fact" that The Clinton Administration did anything to stop a growing threat. Not even in the post about "facts". Here's a fact just so we don't obscure the problem with gas prices and wars that were demanded by senate intelligence. " Clinton's failures to act against bin Laden directly facilitated a decade of terrorist attacks against the U.S. leading up to 9/11. "[W]e could have prevented the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole, we could have prevented 9/11 and we could have prevented the bombings of the embassies in Africa if President Clinton had taken one of these opportunities." Patterson continued, "We had eight chances at least to either nab bin Laden or to kill him." from Col. Robert "Buzz" Patterson, who carried the "nuclear football" during the Clinton years. Enjoy, NO CHARGE!!!

Bill Clinton was a good president ONLY because the Gingrich republicans controlled congress at the time and forced the government to get spending under control. When the Gingrich republicans lost their leader, all DC went back into its normal mode of self-centered policy without regard to the nation.

Posted By Mike, Houston, TX : October 31, 2007 12:09 pm

Actually, Mike, spending had gone out of control under 12 years of Reagan-Bush. Never forget that they quadrupled the federal deficit, putting us into debt for years to come.

Bill Clinton started reining in the deficit BEFORE the '94 elections; it was cooperation between Clinton and Gingrich's forces that gave us the surplus that George W. Bush was able to squander as he put us deeply into debt to the Red Chinese in order to fund his illegal war in Iraq.

    Bob New York

Your source, Buzz Patterson, is a conservative author of two books, "War Crimes: The Left's Campaign to Destroy Our Military and Lose the War on Terror" and "Dereliction of Duty"

So of course he is going to skew the facts and politically spin to further his agenda. Frankly, Bob, those quotes that you mention aren't facts but more political spin and lies from a right wing conservative. Furthermore, Patterson has been known to lie before. He was caught lying to the American public on national TV, when he stated the already debunked claim that Hillary wanted to ban military uniforms in the White House.

Perhaps you forget that Clinton did fire missiles at OBL in the aftermath of the embassy bombings. Maybe you forgot that in the 6 years since 9/11, Bush has still failed to succeed in detaining or capturing OBL. And of course, what about the CIA warning two months before 9/11, while Bush was in office?

Bottom line Bob, you haven't refuted Vince's facts, but instead you've tried to change the dialogue of this ticker into something else. I would try to refute Patterson's 'facts' but it is hard to refute someone who doesn't tell the truth. So rather than point the finger at Clinton or Bush, lets both agree that policies from both administrations have failed to find OBL.

Mike, Cleveland, OH – I'm not looking for an argument, I'm just saying it's politics as usual with the Clinton's. Nothing will get better, it will just be more of the same if not worse since she is so hated, Congress and the Senate won't be able to do anything while she is in office.

The missiles fired at OBL by Clinton would have been good and maybe even killed him, If Clinton's Administration hadn't contacted the target area in advance to tell everyone the missiles were coming and to get out of harms way. No I didn't forget that.

I also know from the 9/11 hearings that Bush didn't have many documents from the previous administration because they were taken by someone from the archives and stuffed down his pants. Again another Clinton supporter who is already back on the parole and destine to head right back to the white house.

As far as someone spinning to further his own agenda, man Clinton is the king bar none. And lying to the public on Television, please let me refresh your memory to the most famous lie in American history on television, "I did not have sex with that woman" not only on television but under oath. For which Bill lost his license to practice law for his perjury conviction.
Lastly, I wasn't the one who changed the dialog. Vince did when he spun this from facts about Clinton and politics as usual to attacking Bush. Which appears to be the favorite way that democrats answer for themselves, point a finger at someone else and say "but see what he did" This piece wasn't about Bush it was about Bill's 3 roles.

And I will definitely agree that no one has found UBL to this point, but Clinton had a much better chance. Clinton actually refused to take him when he was being delivered on a silver platter stating we didn't want him in 1994 after the first WTC bombing.

We need better than this now in America. We need to secure our Country against terrorists and find a new direction. So lets agree that we need a new direction not the ones that have proved incapable of doing the job.

Bush is done after the next election, he is not in the picture here. So again, the question is should the Clinton's be given a 3rd chance when they failed so miserably to handle this challenge during their last reign? I think no.

I think that still yet there is another point being missed here. Yes we can hate the Clinton's, yes we can hate Bush, but have any of you stopped to think of what this bickering about the war we are undeniably in is doing to the troops that are fighting for it? Have any of you stopped to think that maybe, just maybe, all this ridiculous arguing is just serving to hurt and confuse the men and women who volunteered to keep us all safe? Be an American and stop complaining about things that are done and over with and instead show some support for those who really need it. Not Clinton, not Bush. The troops.
