While uninsured motorists is a good idea to counter the lack of insurance for illegal aliens look at the number of drivers that would be driving illegally without insurance and the normal limits on policies for uninsured motorist coverage. Underinsured moptorist coverage would be the same program. All you would be doing is forcing coverage for uninsured motorist coverage and underinsured coverage to higher limits and the price to higher rates. Once Coverage is secured for illegal aliens initially if you can force them to secure coverage for insurance they can always cancell the coverage the next day. Then where is the normal legal driver except with higher rates for uninsured and underinsured coverage.

Hillary has only been committed to one thing HERSELF. I for one can't wait for her to be President. Ever since the Bushes got in the White House is no longer a Bed and Breakfast and the gossip I can't wait for all the scandals! will she get an intern also? or does she have more self control? my only hope is that I can get in on the fleecing of America while she is there.

Sorry dude but I'm totally against illegal immigrants obtaining legal drivers licenses. Though I a pro making legal immigration more streamlined and attempting to bring the many illegals already here into our legal fold, I still have to say no to the license deal.

"Juan, you don't need a legal license to drive your F150 with 20" rims while blasting "Coridas" on your stareo, just to mow my lawn. My last name is Gutierrez, I rode the bus and so can you."

Tom Tancredo is the ONLY candidate that can stop us from being overran by illegals. He is the only candidate with the will to do so. He recognizes that fact that the numbers of illegals can not and will not assimilate into our society; hence dividing our nation becasue of sheer numbers. Not to mention the cost to us due to all resources used by illegals. Not to mention that our very security and safety is threatened. This must be stopped and Tancredo is the only one who WILL do it.
Every candidate has issues which they expound upon and change their minds about. Tancredo is our last chance to save America. All the other issues don't mean much if we have lost our culture and our American way of life!!

I agree with Flagship in Hartford: licensing is a safety issue and a financial issue, not a rights issue. When an illegal immigrant runs into someone, I want them to have insurance, bec.ause the pay they get here, while better than in Mexico, isn't enough to cover vehicle damage and medical bills.

The 75% of America who advocates keeping people uninsured are short-sighted. Keeping people uninsured helps nobody.

It's not like giving an illegal immigrant a license protects them from deportation.

Questioning the issue of driver's licenses is minor compared to the most important issue of a federal law regarding illegal immigrants. If these immigrants ARE living in the US, they need to be somehow identified, they likely have cars and drive without a license and insurance. Asking them to leave the country because they broke the law has nothing to do with them having some identification.
Hillary just pointed out that the answer is not yes or no as the smart boys implied. She recognized the problem faced in NY but she said very clear she does not think it should be solved this way. Why don't you listen and try to follow all words, not just the ones you want?

The reaction to the driver's license thing is not well thought out. The illegal immigrants are here, building our houses, mopping our restaurants, picking our crops, etc. They work for my employer and your employer. There are 12 million or more of them here. I would prefer for them to have a license AND INSURANCE.

If you give an addict a clean needle to shoot up with, it doesn't mean you approve of heroin. If you give your daughter a shot to prevent cervical cancer it doesn't mean you approve of premarital sex. If you give an illegal alien a driver's license, it doesn't mean you approve of illegal immigration. If you buy a bottle of pine sol to mop your floors with it doesn't mean you approve of germs. If you buy your neighbor a cheeseburger, it doesn't mean you approve of obesity.

People, this country deserves no less than congressman Tom Tancredo. Geraldo even admitted Tom was the first and certainly the loudest voice against illegal immigration. Illegal imigration is just one problem but it is tied to so many more and people need to address the issue once and for all. Tancredo '08. Thanks

The only person, candidate, who is going to do anything about illegals in this country, and that includes the driver's license fiasco, is Congressman Tancredo. You can boo-hoo him 'til the cows come home, but he is the only true, law and order candidate willing to tell the truth about the downward spiral our country is taking and what needs to be done to get us out of this mess.

Hillary Clinton doesn't give a darn about this country, and if she did, she certainly wouldn't be sanctioning driver's licenses for illegal aliens. She needs to stand up for the laws of the state she represents in the Senate as well as this country. We need a positive president, one who is willing to follow the laws of the land. She is anti-American, CFR, globalist, open borders, and willing to take your money to finance a health care system. If you want wide open borders, a North American Union (NAU) and a welfare class of cheap illegal labor, you can continue to support her.

Just think about those second tier men, the ones who really care about this country. Wake up while you've got the time to think it through.

    Barbara Doyle,

I have to agree with Walt from Texas. * of the 9/11 hijackers were registered to vote. If they are driving now why would they go get a license? Thye are already here ILLEGALLY. Do youreally think they'll follow up and get a license so they can incur the extra expense of insurance?
And, sure, if I were here illegally I'd be breaking down the door to be put into a computer system and give my real address so that when deportation day comes, the government could drive right up to my door and take me away.

Besides, other states have done this and found that it was a nightmare and REPEALED those programs...(Tennessee comes to mind) but we can't expect a UNITED STATES Senator from New York that wants to be PRESIDENT to be aware of policies in other parts of the country.

This has got to be a virus of some sort. Is she saying BushJr. is wrong on the war, but right in endorsing illegal immigrants as on the same ground as U.S. citizens? How can one prosecute illegality and on the same page, give them what U.S.Citizens cherish as a earned right.

Of course the democrat politicians want illegals to have drivers licenses... that makes it easier for them to vote illegally! But even Hillary should be smart enough to know that a lot of average democrat voters don't like the idea.

And I'm going to puke if I hear one more politician say it's a "choice between deporting 20 million people or a path to citizenship." Why can't we simply do nothing? That is, don't kick the illegals out (unless they commit a crime), but don't give them any taxpayer-subsidized benefits either. Why is that such a difficult concept to grasp?

Do Clinton supports actually believe a HRC presidency will accomplish anything? Besides her already unfavorable approval rating from half the electorate, her often over-the-top personal attacks against Republicans these last 7 years will come home to haunt her. Her government will be deadlocked. If liberals want anything accomplished, they had better nominate someone other than Hillary.
