Obama: Cheney is 'a crazy uncle in the attic'

Obama is sworn into the Senate by his eighth cousin, Vice President Cheney.

SPARTANBURG, South Carolina (CNN) - At a campaign event Saturday, Sen. Barack Obama called his distant cousin, Vice President Dick Cheney, "a crazy uncle in the attic."

Obama was referencing the recent revelation by the Vice President's wife, Lynne Cheney, that he and the Vice President are distantly related.

"For the first time in a long time, the name George Bush will not appear on the ballot," he told the crowd of about 500 people at Converse College in Spartanburg.

"The name Dick Cheney, my cousin, will not appear on the ballot," Obama said. "We had been trying to hide that cousin thing for a long time. Everybody's got a black sheep in the family. A crazy uncle in the attic."

The only thing that is a joke is that Obama actually thinks he can become our next president

I love to see all the petty people on here find it so easy to assassinate the character of a man. Probably the same people that stood by & supported Bill Clinton as he ignored fanatical Islamists as they repeatedly bombed & harassed us worldwide.
ps -there WERE weapons of mass destruction in Iraq...WE SOLD THEM TO THEM!...question is where was the evidence as required by the United Nations that they were destroyed? Nobody wants to talk about THAT now!

Barack HUSSEIN Obama. How could anyone vote for a man who is afraid of his middle name. As for being Hillarys Vice Pres, no chance. She already has that vote and she's not interested in there being any other FIRST'S in her administration. This is ALL about Hillary.

For all you people that HATE Dick Cheney and just think he's straight from the Nazi era, please tell me EXACTLY what he has done to rate such vitriole. And don't give me hyperbole. I want actual EXAMPLES! Trampled the Constitution? Show me! Invaded privacy? Show me! Getting kickbacks from Halliburton? PLEASE! You won't be able to because you have become party robots. Dick Cheney has served his country, whether you like the WAY he has, for 30 years.

SOME sense of decorum is called for here...

Just what civil discourse in this country needs, another article referring to Dick Cheney, allowing all the haters out there to spew their venom one more time. Who they gonna pick on after Jan. 2009? President Giuliani?

Anyone with a brain should realize that if you think Mr. (won't wear the flag or hold his hand over his heart during or even say the pledge of allegiance) Obama is smarter or has more character than V.P. Cheney, you are in big time denial about who is and isn't qualified to hold office in this great land. God bless America.

There are only two reasons to be a Republican:
    (1) You are rich and want a tax break.
    (2) You are stupid.

In the first democrat debate, Barack Hussein Obama was asked to name the top three allies of the U.S. He stammered and then said the European Union, which is neither a country nor an ally.

I prefer the crazy uncle. Obama is a fool and a stalking horse for HRC.

At least Cheney serves his country proudly. Obama Osama doesn't even hold his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, which is respect for the US and who wants a president that attended a Madrasa? Not I

Dick Cheney told us that “We will in fact, be greeted as liberators…I think it will go relatively quickly.. (in) weeks rather than months” when we went into Iraq. He said "There is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction.".

Two years ago Cheney said “I think they're in the last throes, if you will, of the insurgency.". Another false statement from him was "(Saddam Hussein) had an established relationship with al Qaeda".

Getting major points like that consistently wrong is the reason that a poll a while ago gave Cheney a 17% approval rating, which is even worse than Bush who constantly has some of the lowest approval ratings ever. Supporters can only "brag" about it by claiming it is higher than Congress's rating, but then they need to admit that Democrats there still rate higher than Republicans. With both sides doing very badly, it is still the Republicans that lower the overall average.

Cheney is part of an administration that has INCREASED OUR NATIONAL DEBT BY 50%. The Republicans love the myth that Democrats generate debt, but anyone can look at the statistics and see that almost every one of the 20 highest deficits in our history came from Bush, his father, and Ronald Reagan. The LARGEST DEBT-GENERATING PRESIDENTS have been "CONSERVATIVES". The largest SURPLUS in history came from Bill Clinton.

If you are refering to the Arabic wars, you can thank your own Jimmy Carter for this mess. It was HIM and HIS ADMINISTRATION that has been giving us the ills for Reagan, Bush41, Clinton, and Bush43. For what has been happening with the Arab terrorist groups, I blame not one president since Carter. Now, there are fools in the Senate that still protect this lil peen-nut and his 'legacy'.
Hillary, actually innocent from this part. Edwards, too much of a bumbling fool. Barack however, too much of an Arab sympathizer. And supports killing children. In the US that I know, its called collaraboration to murder. Idiot Dems call it unfortunate circumstances. War is war. Yes God frowns upon it. But in the war, its governed by choices-a God given right. Tell me if those babies have choices? Ooops, forgot, they aren't listed as life. Wonder if God will say the say thing when the Maker is met.

Speaking of demeanor and class, wasn't it Cheney who's twice been censored for swearing at Congressmen on the floor and has been caught several times on tape swearing at other politicians, the press, ordinary citizens? As it seems, don't let facts or decency get in the way of a good conservative attack.

As I read the other comments–I'm not surprised at how Cheney has been so well demonized by the left. This man has done NOTHING but promote democracy around the world. Extolled the virtues of the USA. Helped removed some of the most brutal people in the world–YET he is the "BAD GUY" in the eyes of the ignorant and misinformed.

In almost eight years of political attacks and dirty tricks by the dems Cheney has never been "EXPOSED" as something less than an HONEST person of integrity and passionate believer in his country's virtues. But the dems have managed to persuade the IGNORANT that he is the devil encarnate! by offering accusations and conspiracy theories while twisting the facts to fit into them.

The "WITCHES" at Salem had a more "evidence" to convict them than you have of CHENEY and BUSH!

    You should be ashamed!

There is NOT ONE FACT ANYWHERE to support irresponsible claims that Barack Obama hates America NOR THAT HE IS A MUSLIM. Obama attended the Muslim school in the Philipines when he was 8 to 10 years old. He also attended a CATHOLIC school. No one seems to have the integrity to mention that. It is mindless to think that Obama has been plotting against this country since he was less than 10 years old. It is a reflection on people themselves when they make claims that Obama has been faking allegiance to this country for 36 years just waiting to somehow subvert it.

"People here in Chicago this koran deal swearing in on it,peaved so many people off,we need a canidate who swears on the bible, and takes the Oath of Office, A United States Citzen.not someone who lived in idonesia, kenya.someone who has resided In The US there entire life.
they dont beleive him at all,he hasn't accompolished anything because of these missed votes and for the people of Chicago,I myself haven't followed him that much it's what people are saying around me here."

Spoken like a true conservative erudite – nothing but lies, propaganda, and spelling mistakes. You probably believe that Al Gore said he invented the Internet, too? Obama was NOT sworn in on the Koran, that was a conservative media misprint that you dopes believed. And if we dismiss presidents who have spent time in foreign lands, then I guess you'd consider Eisenhower some kind of traitor as well? Get out of the nuthouse in Elk Grove, Itasca, or whatever forgotten burb you live in because I'm from Chicago (not a burb) and the people here support Obama because we're sick of incompetent, lying, hypocrite conservatives (notice I didn't say Republicans – hey guys, please reclaim your party before it completely erodes into the Retardican Party)
