Student given question to ask Clinton: I wasn't only one

Watch Student Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff's interview with CNN.

GRINNELL, Iowa (CNN) - The college student who says she was told what question to ask at one of Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign events told CNN Monday that she wasn't the only one at the event who was a plant and said "voters have the right to know what really happened."

In an exclusive interview with CNN, Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff, a 19-year-old sophomore at Grinnell College in Iowa - whose story in her campus newspaper has now been widely circulated - said that giving anyone specific questions to ask is "dishonest," and the whole incident has given her a negative outlook on politics.

Gallo-Chasanoff, an undecided voter, said what happened was really pretty simple: she says a senior Clinton staffer asked if she'd like to ask the senator a question after an energy speech she gave in Newton, Iowa, on November 6. (Watch Gallo-Chasanoff ask Clinton the question)

"I sort of thought about it, and I said 'Yeah, can I ask how her energy plan compares to the other candidates' energy plans?'" Gallo-Chasanoff said.

"'I don't think that's a good idea," the staffer said, according to Gallo-Chasanoff, "because I don't know how familiar she is with their plans."

He then opened a binder to a page that, according to Gallo-Chasanoff, had about eight questions on it.

"The top one was planned specifically for a college student," she added. " It said 'college student' in brackets and then the question."

Wow — and we thought that Fred Thompson was the BEST ACTOR in the race for the White House!

    Hmmm...

It makes me wonder whether or not Hillary was ACTING when she make her bold "great right-wing conspiracy" comments, as she claimed that she was "unaware" of her husbands sexual exploits.

    Hmmm…

This girl needs to be honest with herself and join a gym, lose some weight, improve her sense of well-being. Instead being a hog, craving the limelight the second you are offered a scripted question, then once those 3 seconds of fame are over, rolling it over into another 10 minutes of fame, acting like she was somehow forced to ask the question.

Right on Nate — Boston, Mass!

Why are people even shocked by this? This has been happening for YEARS on both sides of the political aisle for offices at all levels. Good job to her staff for doing their job.

Okay, this is wrong what Clinton's campaign is doing, but why was Bush able to hand-pick entire audiences and questions as our PRESIDENT – not a candidate – and the "liberal" media remained quiet about it?

When will people wake up and see Clinton for what she really is: a dishonest, calculating politician who only has her own ambition in mind. If she can't answer real questions from everyday Americans, how can we expect her to ever be honest with us if elected president?

It's scary that the strongest argument HRC supporters have in defense of their candidate is "other people do it too". When you were a child didn't you learn two wrongs don't make a right. I agree with you though, Hillary is perfectly willing to subscribe to politics as usual. She and her administration would not do anything to try to make real change. Obama has declared that he has not and would not plant questions. I believe him and you would be wrong to accuse any candidate of such tactics without proof. So for now all we know for a fact is that Hillary does use planted questions, she's afraid to be spontaneous and start a real "conversation" with the voters. Why doesn't she just send out flyers with what she wants to say (or not say) instead of pretending like she wants to answer unique unscripted questions. I'm sick and tired of secretive, manipulative, dishonest presidency's. I want a real change, I want honesty, judgement and integrity. I want Barack Obama. Listen and read about what he says, it's REAL.

Check out STEPHANIE BEKENDAM's long incoherent rant. It is easy to find because it is in ALL CAPS!

Attempted to read it twice but still can't find a single salient point; very humorous though. Stephanie, do yourself a favor and learn how to write.

Talk about a show of truth. Look at all the liberal post. They are so stupid they are all still campaigning against President Bush. Is that a failure of the parents or the non-educational, liberal dominated school systems? No knowledge of history or government. One more time BDS twits, George W. Bush cannot run for president again. Of course you lie and say he lied but we can prove you lie and you can't make one case of him lying. Nuff said, BDS is in full force.

"...My hunch is though that any overweight college student won't dare to come forward for fear of being trashed by Hillary's subservient, unthinking, and callous supporters."

Well put. The irony is they expect civility, but don't practice it. Just like the Clintons, they're hipocrits.

I am an Obama supporter but even though this practice by the Clinton campaign is utterly manipulative how can it be compared to the deceit, cover ups and open disrespect of the Constitution perpetrated on the american public by the current administration?

American politics are pathetic and shameful - its time for a revolution, but of course they've taken that option away from us, haven't they? Your vote doesn't count, and never has, don't think your questions or opinions are any different.

Not one of these Clinton respondents has acknowledged that it was wrong of Hillary to lie. They have attacked the girl, attacked George Bush (why do they do that? he's not a candidate), made wildly inaccurate claims that every other candidate is doing it, but not one of them has said that it was wrong for Hillary to lie. Guess that says it all for American morality and ethics in another Clinton administration. Just don't say anything about restoring America's standing in the world.

    Please people wake up...
The Clinton dirty trick machine is building speed again. Haven't we had enough of them already? Two of the most dishonest people on the planet...
Educate yourselves! Research and learn all you can before choosing a candidate. I am tired of the cookie cutter opinions I hear from the American people shamelessly supplied by the media.
