Student given question to ask Clinton: I wasn't only one

Watch Student Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff's interview with CNN.

GRINNELL, Iowa (CNN) - The college student who says she was told what question to ask at one of Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign events told CNN Monday that she wasn't the only one at the event who was a plant and said "voters have the right to know what really happened."

In an exclusive interview with CNN, Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff, a 19-year-old sophomore at Grinnell College in Iowa - whose story in her campus newspaper has now been widely circulated - said that giving anyone specific questions to ask is "dishonest," and the whole incident has given her a negative outlook on politics.

Gallo-Chasanoff, an undecided voter, said what happened was really pretty simple: she says a senior Clinton staffer asked if she'd like to ask the senator a question after an energy speech she gave in Newton, Iowa, on November 6. (Watch Gallo-Chasanoff ask Clinton the question)

"I sort of thought about it, and I said 'Yeah, can I ask how her energy plan compares to the other candidates' energy plans?'" Gallo-Chasanoff said.

"'I don't think that's a good idea," the staffer said, according to Gallo-Chasanoff, "because I don't know how familiar she is with their plans."

He then opened a binder to a page that, according to Gallo-Chasanoff, had about eight questions on it.

"The top one was planned specifically for a college student," she added. " It said 'college student' in brackets and then the question."

Hillary proves herself to be more and more like GWB as the days go by...I wonder if she considers him to be her "mentor"

Hillary KNEW they were planting questions. Otherwise, how did she know exactly who to call on? I used to support her but I will never vote for someone who thinks she can get away with such an obvious lie.

YOU KNOW what Hillary's campaign done was stupid and she is suffering from it, rightly so...I do not understand why Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff did not have enought sense to tell them NO that she could ask her own questions.. yet she has enough sense to talk to the news media...sounds fishy to me...

I hope that it didn't take this event to show her that the entire "democratic" political process is a joke.

    They're all crooks.

Hillary won't even let that wonderful integrity she has stand in the way of the White House. And to the college student: Welcome to the Republican party, Democrats hate you now. And if you want to graduate college, go into the witness protection program because you don't stand a chance after slandering conrade Clinton.

Hillary has shown she can't "perform" as well as her husband. That was obvious last debate. She will win the Democrat nomination, but won't be able to avoid hard questions for the remaining time before next election. She will be exposed for her lack of substance. She is not the smartest woman in the world, as democrats want to believe. She is definitely showing true colors, whining about being put on the spot. What a joke. If she were to win the presidency, we will be back to the Clinton's putting a finger in the air to see how to make a decision. She has no substance, like her husband. She will tell people anything to get elected, or get a campaign donation. Even give China top national secrets. Remember those days?

Would you people take just a few moments and read through the comments that are being posted? If the best explanations we can come up with are "everybody is doing it" and "who believes in honest politicians?" then no wonder our government is such a freaking disaster. By continuing to allow unacceptable behavior to become the norm – we have to take responsibility for this mess we are in. Seriously, think about it! Hold yourselves and ANY potential future leader to a higher standard.

These comments against Hillary are based on naive, idealistic outlooks that discount the talents this woman will bring to the office. Hillary is smart, tough, and yes, she's crafty (when she needs to be)...but she's also benevolent about it. The GOP has had their way with the Democrats for at least 8 years. Along comes someone cunning enough to destroy them at their own game...and all you can do is accuse her of Bush politics "all over again"...give this woman the credit she has due. She's brilliant.

    GO HILLARY!

Hillary will say and do anything to become Pres. It has been her life long goal. She has sold her sole. She is the smartest person she has ever met. I, for one don't need to be taken care of and don't want the government even trying. They don't even take care of the borders correctly, why would I want them taking care of me. With every responsibility you give up, you give up a freedom.

It's amazing just how many people have to be lying in order for the Clinton's to be telling the truth. Who killed Vince Foster? oop that just slipped out...oops that's Bill line. "You might want to put some ice on that".

The staffer has a book with suggested questions and the Hillary camp tries to pretend that Hillary did not know that questions were being planted. Anyone naive enough to believe that deserves Clinton as a candidate. I think most Americans are smarter than that. And to all of those Clinton apologists who keep saying it is not a big deal...Honesty is a big deal.

Oh, and Hillary didn't know anything about any questions being planted. Oh, and she just HAPPENED to call on the college student who was a plant. Well, the fun is already beginning. Welcome to "The Clintons" Season 2.

To those of you who say things like "Don't you understand politics" and "This is what they do" – I say that may be the way "it is" but that is NOT the way that it should be. We should not justify someones actions if they are wrong just because it is the way it is. This is why our country is in the mess it is in because people are too willing to go with the status quo and not willing enough to stand up and say "Enough".

This is why I will be voting for our next President, Barack Obama. He is change, he is the way, he knows how to unite people and he does what is right – not necessarily what is popular or "the way".

It's clear Hillary is hiding behind planted questions. I think this comes from her wanting to be manically in control. "Let's not be honest about what I really believe." She even sent Charlie Rangel out to announce the trillion dollar tax increase because she can't let people know who she really is.

    Anyone but Hillary

Hillary says she had no idea what questions were going to be asked...hmmmm, that's funny! Has anyone here watched the video of this question & answer moment? She is clearly looking at her notes!! She knew all along that this question was going to be asked! Why else would she have the answer in her notes???

I lived in Central NY for 6 years and had moved there right when Hillary became Senator. I was very excited because she promised to help Central NY with jobs and education. I voted for her because of this. SHE DID NOTHING FOR CENTRAL NY! Why? Because there was nothing for HER to gain in it. Six years was enough for me to know that NY is not where I wanted to live for the rest of my life especially with the horrid administration we have!

There is NO WAY I'd vote for this woman. She is a liar and all she cares about is what big corporation her next 100 dollar bill is coming from!

Have to love it – another Clinton gets caught with their pants down. Now we have her liberal followers and boot licks saying it is another right-wing conspiracy against the Clinton's. What amazes me is that if there were that many conspiracies against her – how come she is still standing. Listen to her speak she isn't that sharp...all she preaches is Marxist Theorem with no solutions just ways to spend my money with non efficient government programs, with track records that have already failed in all the socialist countries of the world, yet it is a conspiracy. Got love when her posse stiffs a waitress, and stumbles to the answer questions unless they are specifically designed and prepared for her.

Can it get any more pathetic than this? She won't make it as president if she can't even answer questions on her own.

OK, let's put this into perspective:

    1. The student was not paid by the campaign
    2. The student was not forced to ask a certain question

This was not a plant, it was merely a suggestion. When the student was called on she could have asked a different question.

As mentioned there have been several staged speeches by Edwards and Obama where no questions were allowed at all or questions were screened.

"Man, why are you democrats such PHONIES? If that happened with a Republican, you'd be all over it spewing your nasty "neocon" venom."

What do you mean, IF? Bush does this all the time. Bush has FAKE REPORTERS at his news conferences. Bush never even speaks unless it's before a crowd of white, corporate or military people. Period.

If she wanted JUST HONESTY, why did she agree to ask the question, or if when she was called on to ask a question, why didn't she ask HER question instead of the one she was given to ask.
I have no sympathy for anyone who plays both sides of the fence and that is what she did.
She wanted to be called on, but she did not want to be as honest before hand as she is after the fact.
She is no different than someone who breaks the law, they are mostly repentant after the fact, but that is because they got caught.
