Wrestler Ric Flair supporting Mike Huckabee

Huckabee has picked up another endorsement from a celebrity strong man.

COLUMBIA, South Carolina (CNN) - In the race for presidential endorsements, Mike Huckabee has the kitschy pop culture celebrity vote on lockdown.

First it was martial arts hero and "Walker, Texas Ranger" star Chuck Norris, who appears with Huckabee in his first TV ad.

Then hard-rocking hunting enthusiast Ted Nugent jumped on the Huckabee bandwagon, citing the Republican's support for second amendment rights.

Now, Huckabee is getting ready to rumble: wrestler Ric Flair, a.k.a. The Nature Boy, is supporting the former Arkansas governor in his bid for the White House.

CNN has learned the WWE wrestler is on board with Huckabee, and will co-host a campaign tailgate with the candidate at the South Carolina vs. Clemson football game on Saturday afternoon in Columbia, South Carolina. More details are forthcoming.

I certainly wouldn't want Ted Nugent backing me if I were a candidate. Alot of people don't care for that man. What a turn off.

The fans of "rasslin", Chuck Norris type garbage on TV and gun-nut Rick Nugent are natural constituents to an anti-science, anti-modern backwoods Arkansas minister/ republican candidate.
In contrast to most celebrity endorsements, I think these are meaningful and will translate into votes. Republican voters tend to be "followers" anyway. Like zombies, they do what they are told.

Dont trust the support or judgment of a wrestler, as his brain is generally mushed by steroids and repeated bangings.

I thought Mike Huckabee was a nice guy. The more I see about his views on guns, the scarier he seems.

We don't need more guns on the streets of America.

When I need help in deciding something as important as picking a primary candidate, I always look for Ric Flair's guidance. He is the champion of not only the WWF & WCW, but of independent & critical thought. Whooooo! CNN, congrats on this crap you continue to poo out your news orfice.

Are you folks kidding me? When does a wrestler have any idea about intellectual political pursuits. What is CNN thinking? Talk about pandering to the lowest common denominator.

Big deal. Ron Paul has Kane (WWE). I know what you're saying, "but Huckabee has CHUCK NORRIS". well, I answer that with Ron Paul has Donna D'Errico. Enjoy your Texas Ranger, Huckabee. Ron Paul has the Baywatch vote.

Wow, Walker Texas Ranger, Ted Nugget head, and howlin Ric Flair. I knew Huckbee was popular with deranged nutcase crowd, but this is spectacular. Wait, is this really a reality show?

The new Great Evangelical Hope is now Huckaby. How sad. The southern conservative Protestants are groping for anybody but a Mormon. They are taking the bait. The Clinton camp is going to be laughing their way back into the White House. God help us all.

What's really under Chuck Norris's rug ? Rick Flair's head butt ! Huckabee, while not perfect, is one of the honest men (there is not an honest woman running) in this race, along with Obama, McCain, Paul, Biden, and a couple others. May two of them face off in the general election.

Please no! We had to endure Huckabee/Gomer for 10 years in Arkansas. If you want higher taxes...he's your man. If you want a right-winged Christian Fundamentalist....he's your man. If you want someone who supports/friends with corrupt televangelists...he's your man.

Before the "he's just a roided up freak show, who cares?" comments start rolling in, allow me to say this. When your job involves traveling the world, performing for and meeting thousands and thousands of people, you may eventually get a perspective on mankind and the world that the average person doesn't. Don't assume that your job on the assembly line gives you some God-given insight and wisdom into what really matters in the world over the man you dismiss as "just a redneck wrestler" or "some Hollywood limousine liberal." You may have some fierce opinions on the Mideast or Japan or Brazil, but those "know-nothings" have actually been there, met people, and seen things with their own eyes.

Keep that in mind as you rush to dismiss any "celebrity" who expresses a political opinion.
