Race to '08 audio podcast: Oprah to stump for Obama

Listen to Candy Crowley discuss the political impact of Oprah Winfrey.

(CNN) - The original 18,000-seat arena turned out not to be big enough. So, Sen. Barack Obama's campaign is now holding a South Carolina campaign event featuring media superstar Oprah Winfrey in an 80,000-seat football stadium. But, with all the interest in Oprah, could she overshadow the Democratic presidential hopeful she is trying to help?

In today's Race to '08 audio podcast, CNN Senior Political Correspondent Candy Crowley talks with CNN Radio's John Lisk about Obama's upcoming campaign events featuring Winfrey.

Oprah is not running for president.

The theory is that if people find out who Barack Hussein Obama is and what he stands for, they are going to like what they see. They may indeed find that this is a man of character and conviction who will fight to keep America the best the world has ever known.

If Oprah can bring more people into the tent to listen, this may indeed allow people to see this remarkable man – and they may decide to vote for him.

Hey Oprah, it looks like you have lot of time and money to go after Obama. You think that you can bring in votes for him and make him our President. Does he have the experience to lead us. No. Nothing. Do not waste your time.

I like Oprah. This is not Paris Hilton. I would vote for him. I think no one is complaining of hillary Clinton of her hubby Bill.

If Obama would (or could) articulate his agenda and come out with anything specific, he might be a contender. Right now, he's an empty suit, calling on his buddy, Oprah, hoping she can give him a boost. Oprah can do many things, but she can not pick the next president of our country. While a lot of women mindlessly follow her lead, many trust their own ability to listen, learn, and decide which candidate they feel would serve our country best. Many believe Oprah is backing Obama based on race. That is a mine-field for him. He's going to lose a lot of votes, not only in the south, but all over our country. Her splashy appearances with Obama in the early primary states is way over the top. Trying to steam-roll Clinton, Edwards, and others with her high profile is unappetizing and a HUGE turn-off for many.
Obama should stand up, say something of substance, stop gulping and stuttering when he's caught being disingenuous, and at least act as if he's ready for prime time. He looks like a skinny, weak little man trying to play in a grown-up game. Too much is at stake to let an inexperienced trainee into the oval office.

Lots of people care! I am thrilled Obama will get this kind of exposure. If you hear him speak you will vote for him. He is so different from status quo (HRC).
He is light where she is total darkness.

Iowa will make the smart choice and choose anyone other than Oprah's boy!

WAKE UP, look past obamas & oprahas smoke screen and mirror show this weekend and see, as do most everyone in the country, that there’s no leader in obama, why else run around behind Oprah letting her lead him by the nose. We need a strong person, some one who can lead, he certainly isn’t it! The world will be watching IOWANS, do you want to known as the first state that looked foolish and voted for a TV talk show host instead of a true candidate that could be President like Clinton or Edwards.

IOWANS! Go watch Oprah and enjoy, but don’t waste your vote on Obama who cannot win a general election. A vote for him is a wasted thrown away vote…

Media Won’t Say: Obama’s Hypocrisy and Lust for Personal Wealth

    By KB Forbes 1/24/07

The bias media won’t tell you. U.S. Senator Barack Obama is under fire today as a new, investigative video hit the internet. The video explores how Barack and Michelle Obama-the Senator’s wife-are cashing in on the Senator’s fame, reaping in hundreds of thousands of dollars while cashing in on a million-dollar mansion with the help of a now-indicted political hack.

But the bias media won’t tell you.

Ask Joe Novak, a veteran Chicago political operative and former Chief of Staff of a Democratic Congressman. "Ten years ago, you could call any reporter in Chicago and give them a legitimate story and they’d run with it," Novak says. "Now, today, the candy-coated ’reporters’ have turned Barack Obama into the infallible and patron saint of Illinois politics and won’t say a word about his hypocrisy and lust for personal wealth. I felt it was time to expose the truth."

So Novak put together a high quality video and posted it on his website and the video download site of

After viewing the video, some will think OBAMA is an acronym for Overly Bothersome Aggressive Money Appetite. The video includes information on

" How the Senator’s wife received an unusual and extremely generous salary increase from a hospital that seeks to protect its not-for-profit status, shortly after her husband was sworn in as a U.S. Senator.

" How the abuses of the not-for-profit hospital where Michelle Obama works directly contradict the Senator’s oft stated promise of making health care more affordable.

" How by working with a political fixer who at the time was the public target of a U.S. Justice Department investigation (the political fixer was later indicted), Senator Obama was able to save money when buying his new mansion.

" How Senator Obama, who had addressed a union group that is outspoken in their opposition to Wal-Mart (especially the compensation of the CEO of Wal-Mart), failed to tell the group about the compensation of the CEO of the company where his wife sits as a member of the Board of Directors-an amount more than double the compensation for the Wal-Mart executive, for a company whose revenues are 400 times less.

" How the company his wife sits on the board of directors closed a plant staffed mainly by low-paid Hispanics in Colorado.

The bias media won’t tell you so visit the website where more information on these and other issues concerning Obama’s lust for wealth can be found, including interviews with people affected by the plant closing in Colorado.
