Clinton gets emotional

The Clinton campaign is aiming to show a softer side of the New York senator.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Democrat Hillary Clinton got visibly emotional at an Iowa campaign event Monday morning designed to showcase a softer side of the New York senator.

Flanked by childhood friends and constituents who each offered testimonials on the Democratic presidential candidate, a glassy-eyed Clinton spoke noticeably softer than most past appearances on the stump.

"It is very exciting for me to have so many of my friends from my entire life who have come out here, to talk with Iowans, to answer questions, to give you some insight and information about our relationships, about what I've been trying to do my entire life, and particularly as an adult," Clinton said at a campaign event in Johnston, Iowa Monday.

"What I try to do every day is figure out how to help somebody,” she said later in the event. “You can try to help somebody every single day, and I’ve tried to do that as a public servant, as an activist, and now as a senator."

The event coincides with a new campaign Web site - www.TheHillaryIKnow.com - that includes videos for several friends, colleagues, and constituents of Clinton's speaking on her behalf.

The event and Web site are all part of an effort to convey a softer image of Clinton, as polls continue to indicate Democratic primary voters view her as less likeable and more like a "typical politician" than her chief rival, Barack Obama.

A spokesperson told CNN the site will help round out what caucus-goers don’t know about Clinton. “You want voters to have the fullest portrait of your candidate possible when Election Day comes around and that’s what you’re seeing us doing right now.”

The surrogates from the Web site will be fanning out across Iowa and telling their stories over the next three days on Clinton's "Every Caucus Counts Tour."

A Power-Driven Actress.....well, Hillary, there's another twist to your crooked campaign! What a crock! You should be ASHAMED! You are full of petty drivel and certainly NOT fit to be President! Cry about these facts!!!
Obviously, your campaign PAID FOR THIS story...too bad.

Follow the money trail of Clinton and you will see where her loyalty lies, definatly not with the people. The voters need to wake up and learn about Mike Gravel, he is unparalleled as a politician.

I bet those fake tears are so convenient for her. She planned those fake tears, because she knew that news networks like CNN love to focus more about her tears than her policies and records.

Wow! She is really THAT desperate now, isn't she? A "spontaneous" tearing up of the eye, the exact details of which I am sure, were planned days in advance.

Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic! How shameless can you be Hillary? You just lost my vote.

"Give the woman a break…She IS the one to hit the ground running from Day 1…She can fight off Republican attahces better than anyone out there now…Remember she was "Ken-Starred" to death and came out intact at the end. To me, a candidate who talks about Two Americas and then splurges on a $400 hair cut just isn't that viable; and a candidate who comes accross as a speechifying, polkitical-version-American Idol is just dreaming a little too much and needs to be pulled back down into reality.

Sorry. I don't want a weepy president who cries when she doesn't get her way. I doubt our enemies would be sympathetic – why should we. If you want to be president, be prepared to fight for it – it won't be handed to you. She needs to heed the words of another democratic president: Truman.

'If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen'.

Just like 'There's no crying in Baseball", there's no crying in running for president'.

So you want a cold, calculating, stone hearted Hillary more? Well, Hillary haters paint her as that anyway. You mean you dont believe Hillary haters when they say it?

Talking about double standards! Whatever Hillary does is wrong (only for hatred filled individuals).

Why is anyone surprised by this?

She and her intern chasing husband decided while enjoying Bubba's fraudulanty obtained draft deferment that they were better than the rest of us. Once bubba's days were numbered it was decided that Hillary would be next, following crazy Al's term in office. Crazy Al's loss only strengthened her resolve.

Now, poor Hil is losing her shot at what she has "worked" for all these years. How pathetic. She is the most ruthless, cowardly, shameless person running. Only her husband is has less shame. The disbarred, lying, adultering, "I feel your pain" has come out with both guns a blazin' to help her now that the truth is out.

Anyone criticizing Edwards $400 haircut needs to remember bubba shutting down a runway at LAX for a stylish, Hollywood do while President.

Why isn't anyone talking about the travel office, or the stock schemes, or the fact that she refuses to release her "files" from the Whitehouse.

In Bubba's heart of hearts he wants to see Hil lose. he can't stand the fact that if elected, she would get more press than him. That would interfere with his $100K speaches allowing him to re-write history. And we can't have that....

I believe her tears were real. A good actor can produce tears because they're very talented at pretending. Ms Clinton produced real tears because she's come to realize that there are not as many people in America who think much of her as she thought. Someone, some place, talked her into running and she jumped into the race and how doesn't have the guts to say to hell with you all, and go home. No, I don't everybody hates her, their are just alot of people that don't like her, or her hubby. It's just like when someone says they don't think queers are normal, the Clintonites call you hateful. Nobody hates someone they don't know, they just don't like them. It's the Clinton culture that has created the divisiveness in the country.

THIS is the Hillary I know:
    http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSN1742856620071218?pageNumber=3&virtualBrandChannel=0

After Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney got teary-eyed while talking about when his Mormon church opened its doors to black Americans, an MSNBC interviewer asked Clinton if she ever teared up. Clinton laughed off the question.
"Well, you know, when I had to get up at 4 o'clock in the morning in Des Moines I teared up," she said.

Enough said...THIS is the Hillary I Know.

Any candidate who stoops to dirty politics can't be in the running because they care about people. This woman only cares about herself and not only is she phony, but she is very insulting as well.

This was a staged event so she could cry. All scripted and well planned. I know, I work for one of these idiots running for president, every word, every thought, every emotion is thought out and rehearsed and ran through legal. It was an act. Just like her and bills marriage. Although, I believe you will see the real tears when she gets sent back to the senate .

Is Hillary as phoney about her emotions as her husband who was caught laughing and joking coming out of the funeral for US Embassy personel who were killed in the terorist bombins of the US Embassys in Africa during their administration. As soon as he realized the camera was on him, he turned somber again. She has learned well form him to play the camera and the crowd.

I would just like to say that anybody who votes for Hillary is obviously disillusioned, most likely racist, and DEFINITELY voted for Geroge "Dubya" Bush.

You are disillusioned because she is full of untruthful, inconsistent rhetoric. For her supporters, you can't see through that because you are so shallow minded and naive.

You are racist because Barack Obama is clearly the RIGHT choice for America and he is what we need to restore what we have lost due to the past 20 years of the same reign in our government. If you have forgotten I'll show you... Reagan & Bush, Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Bush, Bush...Clinton? How about someone new, someone that's NOT WHITE? This is coming from a caucasian male just so you know.

Third, yes, you, YOU VOTED FOR DUBYA DIDNT YOU? DON'T LIE TO THE PEOPLE AND ACT LIKE YOU DIDN'T.

Have you morons who support Hillary not seen Bush's endorsement? Have you not clearly seen the family ties that the Bushs and Clintons now have? At my alma-mater, they performed the commencement speeh at graduation together. They attend eventstogether, they work together. I'm 24 years old and I see this. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? It is people like you, the Hillary Clinton supporters, that make the life of my generation and generations to come unthinkable. But I guess that it doesn't matter because you won't be around to see it. WE WILL.
