O'Reilly gets in confrontation with Obama staffer

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

(CNN) - Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly had a confrontation with a staffer for Barack Obama’s campaign that the aide and several eyewitnesses claim became physical.

The incident began when O’Reilly tried to get Obama’s attention after a Nashua campaign event. He allegedly began yelling at Obama’s National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson to get out of the way. O’Reilly then, according to eyewitness accounts, shoved the staffer.

Nicholson told CNN O'Reilly grabbed him by the arm and started "pushing" him. Nicholson also said that when he asked O'Reilly to stop pushing him, the talk-show host responded that he was "low class."

O’Reilly soon got Obama’s attention, and the two men spoke briefly.

"They shook hands and Mr. O'Reilly said that he thought Sen. Obama was great and that he loved him, and he'd love to have him on the show," Nicholson said. "And then the senator said that he would think about coming on the show after the primaries."

Then the Secret Service intervened to ask O’Reilly to step back behind the barricade that marked the press area.

Speaking later on Fox News, O'Reilly said he tried to "gently remove" the Obama staffer so his camera could get a shot of the Illinois senator.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

Too bad the Secret Service didn't taser that jerk, then put him under arrest for assault. What an ass.

His actions help to confirm what he has become, and that is a self-grandizing, pathetic, jerk. This will be fodder for Keith Oldermann.

Through this incident it is clear who really is "low class". If O Reilly doesnt get his way, he starts to call people names, its true here and its true everyday on his show, where people who dont agree with him are usually called names like "coolaid drinkers".

"No one's going to block a shot on the O'Reilly Factor! It's not going to happen!" Well, it did happen, you arrogant slime. Here's hoping it happens a lot more.

Ah, in some cases these types of actions result in the aggressor getting shot or at least charged with a felony. Isn't this assault brother?

O'Reilly is completely out of control. Whether it's interviewing someone with opposing views, or trying to get a staffer to go to bed with him, he feels he has this "entitlement" because he's famous. As far as I'm concerned, he's just another right wing POS talking head that needs to be smacked down.

There's two sides to every story. Why didn't you mention that this man might have intentionally blocked their shot several times?

O'reilly should have been arrested like any other citizen would have without a big (even if hideous) reputation.

What a loser! Resorting to violence and insults to get a camera shot is just perfect for right-wingers.

Bill O'Reilly is a schmuck. FOX needs to understand that, and pull that idiot off the airwaves.

it is impossible to stop Fox News and Bill O'Reilly. They are too good. Determined to bring the news to the viewers. However I doubt that Bill O'Reilly said Obama was great and loved him.. That was no doubt a miss-quote.

So who does Bill O'Reilly think is in his 'class'? What a piece of garbage he is. It is a good think he thinks so highly of himself and has fooled some people, because on himself and his fools think about him at all. He is so low on the chain of humanity, it would take the world's lowest lifeform to reach DOWN to him.

And I bet Cheney caught the whole thing and just thanked god for such wonderful people on the Fox network. Is there another word besides ignorant?

Where was O'Reilly's special "Fox security" that he often-times mentions (on air ) usually when he's trying to puff himself up or intimidate someone who diaagrees with him. He's been frothing at the mouth over Hillary for years and now he's chasing Barack to come in for an "interview?" He couldn't phone Obama headquarters? I'll bet Ann Coulter would come on if Barack declines, Bill.

O'Reilly is a hate mongering right wing hack. His statement on his show later shows that he would get his way no matter what. People who watch him are the ones giving him that power. Neither he nor his buddy Rush deserve the attention they get. They are nothing but partisan, venom spewing jerks who have no place in a civilized society.

this story has as much to do with politics as John Huckabee's fender bender, yet people who dislike bill oreilly because he doesn't hold the same beliefs as they , will find this to be an "important" story and ample opportunity to just bash bill oreilly. and again, cnn's political editors find this to be a pressing issue for america , so much so that it will dominate the "news" for a few days until hillary 's daughter snipes at a townhall attendee or until john edwards gets another trim.
