O'Reilly gets in confrontation with Obama staffer

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

(CNN) - Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly had a confrontation with a staffer for Barack Obama’s campaign that the aide and several eyewitnesses claim became physical.

The incident began when O’Reilly tried to get Obama’s attention after a Nashua campaign event. He allegedly began yelling at Obama’s National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson to get out of the way. O’Reilly then, according to eyewitness accounts, shoved the staffer.

Nicholson told CNN O'Reilly grabbed him by the arm and started "pushing" him. Nicholson also said that when he asked O'Reilly to stop pushing him, the talk-show host responded that he was "low class."

O’Reilly soon got Obama’s attention, and the two men spoke briefly.

"They shook hands and Mr. O'Reilly said that he thought Sen. Obama was great and that he loved him, and he'd love to have him on the show," Nicholson said. "And then the senator said that he would think about coming on the show after the primaries."

Then the Secret Service intervened to ask O’Reilly to step back behind the barricade that marked the press area.

Speaking later on Fox News, O'Reilly said he tried to "gently remove" the Obama staffer so his camera could get a shot of the Illinois senator.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

O'Reilly is a jerk. He claims to be fair and balanced...that is a joke. Fox News has better visuals on the channel, but is annoyingly skewed to the right

Every time I see O'Reily or hear about him I'm so amazed at how full of himself he is.

Besides being still another right-wing "family values" sexual-morality hypocrite, O'Reilly's arrogance and vanity are incredible. Calling someone else "low class" is a perfect example of what a hypocrite he is.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

Translation:"I am going to do whatever I want and nothing will get in my way, not even a little assault."

What an egotistical nightmare. Some journalistic integrity, please? He "loves" Obama? Who the heck does he think he is fooling?

Bill O'Reilly might be fooling some of the people, but MANY are catching on to him. That woman he sexually harassed (Falafel, anyone?) The people he has lied to, and the people who he said 'deserved what the got' (Shawn Hornbeck, a little boy deserved being kidnapped and raped because he didn't 'run away' like Bill thought he should have? WTH??!!) .

This man is a danger to the United States. His views help shape a nation, and it is terrifying.

That's assault, Bill should have been arrested. He thinks he is more important than the other reporters and deserves special privileges, and he apparently believes he is above the law. Perhaps he was trying to manufacture news.

I'm not at all surprised by OReilly's actions, as he has always presented himself as a rude, obnoxious, and unsophisticated dimwit. My real astonishment about this story is how OReilly managed to get a press pass! Calling him a member of the press is like calling a mule a motor vehicle!

I am glad that you showed you have RIGHTS TOO! Now just think that if Obama gets to be President how his group will be . OH my !!! He would maybe make a good Vice President and work the ranks like others have untill he is dry behind the ears. He needs more practice and may he can go places. Right now he has the taste if honey and all that goes with it. Plus no time to really think out the Big task that President is. So I am praying that all the people that love him take and Think it over. We need some one like you in his place!

Yah. Typical. Obama is scared to do programs like Oreilly's and doesnt particularly like him. Im sure the guy purposely got in front of Oreillys camera to stick it to him. And as usual Oreilly doesnt let you mess around in the No Spin Zone.

I think O'Reilly should take a chill pill. He feels his show is one of a kind but it is truly not that. He does not tell the truth in regards to Republicans and how this party looks out for certain Americans and not all Americans. He does not tell the truth in regards to the war in which young men are dying and moms are taking care of their wounded sons because they too young to get married before they left or the young wife is trying to take care of small children plus a wounded husband. So I guess he wants to pick on Obama since Obama and his wife are very intelligent and talk about the true issues. They understand what the average American is going through. Thank you Obama for carrying yourself in a respectable manner when you are approached by such bullies as Bill O'Reilly who is only thinking about his ratings not the average person.

Obviously, if the Secret Service ordered him to get back, then he was the "low class" person in the wrong here. He was calling the kettle black again.

How long is it going to take people to realize that O'Reilley is dangerous. He has somehow forgotten that he is a press/media person and NOTHING else. He wants to believe that he is a rock star and he is not. Look at his last statement; " but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen." TRANSLATION: I'll do it again and again, as there seem to be no repricussions. He is nothing but a misogynist thug with a television show!!

Is it a necessity to deflate the super inflated and pompous attitude of Mr.O'Reilly. Remember we do have phones, e-mail.....enabling to us to arrange meetings. Only one reason for this action....PRESS!

You love the man, send a card!

Once more example of his inablility to accept the fact that he too must follow the rules. He's never wrong, and how dare anyone try to tell him what he can or cannot do – this guy is an idiot, I don't care what you say, and I'd be suprised to see Obama on his show anytime soon~
