O'Reilly gets in confrontation with Obama staffer

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

(CNN) - Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly had a confrontation with a staffer for Barack Obama’s campaign that the aide and several eyewitnesses claim became physical.

The incident began when O’Reilly tried to get Obama’s attention after a Nashua campaign event. He allegedly began yelling at Obama’s National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson to get out of the way. O’Reilly then, according to eyewitness accounts, shoved the staffer.

Nicholson told CNN O'Reilly grabbed him by the arm and started "pushing" him. Nicholson also said that when he asked O'Reilly to stop pushing him, the talk-show host responded that he was "low class."

O’Reilly soon got Obama’s attention, and the two men spoke briefly.

"They shook hands and Mr. O'Reilly said that he thought Sen. Obama was great and that he loved him, and he'd love to have him on the show," Nicholson said. "And then the senator said that he would think about coming on the show after the primaries."

Then the Secret Service intervened to ask O’Reilly to step back behind the barricade that marked the press area.

Speaking later on Fox News, O'Reilly said he tried to "gently remove" the Obama staffer so his camera could get a shot of the Illinois senator.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

Wow, bill takes his own photos for the show? Funny that he thinks his photos are worth shoving (or gently moving) other people out of the way for. Class act.

Another Republican telling those of us who are not members of the bourgeis that we are not allowed to exist between what they want and what they deserve... I hope Obama stiffs O'Reilly and doesn't even take him up on the offer... let that fear and war mongering conservative stumpster talk about Obama third hand while Obama continues to seek out "the least of these" as his campaign continues to not only say, but do. Thanks again Obama for giving those of us "low class" people a voice in Washington... keep the faith and keep the Obama train rollin'.

Typical radical right-wing smoke screen attempt to steal the thunder from Senator Obama's campaign event. It's interesting how FOX news was the ONLY network running with this story thusly spewing more FAKE outrage. It's time America rids itself of these radicals who have no legitimate agenda except to spread their hate.

It's time these radical right-wingers (O'Reilly, Sean Hannidy, Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh) to close their hot wind bag mouths.

They have nothing of importance to say except attempt to bring down others.

Ronald Regan would be ashamed of the direction his party has gone.

    Sad, Sad, Sad.....

    What a moron.

Like so many conservatives, O'Reilly is a mean-spirited, arrogant, self-entitled hypocrite. Time for that type of influence to fade into history.

    "Gently remove" huh?

More spin from the spin master O"Reilly, he is nothing more than a loud and obnoxious chicken hawk. I dont like Obama, but I hope he doesnt go on the O'Reilly factor. Its hard to imagine that there are people out there who actualy believe all the crap that comes out of O'Reillys mouth.

    PS. Hannity sucks too.

Regardless of political affiliation, this guy is too full of himself.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

I can only assume he feels himself to be above the law and everyone should accomidate hid wishes.

If the Fox network had any integrity it would at least sanction O'Reilly, take him off the air for a while and send him to humility classes.

'Nobody will block my shot' – never mind that he and his crew apparently missed the press set up period and because of that did not get a prime camera position. Nobody was trying to block his shot, just the way the line was moving. Grow up Bill, you act like a spoiled child way too often for my taste.

O'Reilly needs to get off his little hobby horse and realize that he is not special. Yes he has an accomplished job. I definitely give him props for that. But by no means is one, a media icon like himself to act like a 3 yr old in a grocery store, not getting the candy he wanted. Even if Mr. O'Reilly did "gently remove" the staffer, what does that show the youth of today? It shows that with force and hostility it is possible to obtain what is wanted. Great role model is Bill O'Reilly? Not so much.

O'Reilly is still relevant? I would have had him kicked out the event on the spot. Being a member of the press (albeit an embarrassment to the profession) does not give you the right to accost a member of Obama's staff. I may be no fan of Barack Obama, but he and his campaign earned my respect by handling what could have easily turned into an ugly situation with grace and dignity. O'Reilly is a smug, self-absorbed piece of garbage who should have been put out to pasture a long time ago. The man is a hypocrit and a conservative hack to say the least.

The usual pretentious arrogance that always radiates from Bill O'Reilly. Well, what else do you expect by someone who used to host Inside Edition?

Why wasn't O'Reilly arrested? Isn't what he did considered assault? How unprofessional. And then to say, but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on his show. "It is not going to happen." He sounds like a 2-year-old.
