O'Reilly gets in confrontation with Obama staffer

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

(CNN) - Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly had a confrontation with a staffer for Barack Obama’s campaign that the aide and several eyewitnesses claim became physical.

The incident began when O’Reilly tried to get Obama’s attention after a Nashua campaign event. He allegedly began yelling at Obama’s National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson to get out of the way. O’Reilly then, according to eyewitness accounts, shoved the staffer.

Nicholson told CNN O'Reilly grabbed him by the arm and started "pushing" him. Nicholson also said that when he asked O'Reilly to stop pushing him, the talk-show host responded that he was "low class."

O’Reilly soon got Obama’s attention, and the two men spoke briefly.

"They shook hands and Mr. O'Reilly said that he thought Sen. Obama was great and that he loved him, and he'd love to have him on the show," Nicholson said. "And then the senator said that he would think about coming on the show after the primaries."

Then the Secret Service intervened to ask O’Reilly to step back behind the barricade that marked the press area.

Speaking later on Fox News, O'Reilly said he tried to "gently remove" the Obama staffer so his camera could get a shot of the Illinois senator.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

Because, apparently, his show is the most important thing on Earth, and far more important than, say, good manners and dignity.

I would of loved to read that Obama dashed to his staffers' rescue, and forced OReilly to the ground in a humiliating fashion by a perfectly executed judo throw!Bill.... you are nothing but a self absorbed blowhard who's days are numbered on Faux News.

Can anyone tell me how one "gently removes" a grown person? The thing is you don't and Bill O'Reilly has just admitted that he assaulted someone. It would be interesting to see where this goes.

Just finished watching O'reilly's version on" FOXNOISE" of what happened at candidate Obama's event. Bill is either "cruising for a brusing" (this man is so stupid that he thinks he's gonna get past the Secret Service) OR he's a well-placed "plant" of "FOXNOISE" there to create some type of altercation in order to hype some negativity on Obama's cmapaign. Bill, you're out of your element...you're dealing with people now, who have intellect and yes class...unlike yourself. Why don't you go back to what you do best...harrassing your female counterparts!!!

Wow, this guy shows over and over again that he is an unstable, crazy, and irresponsible guy. What does that mean? No one will block the shot of his show? Wow. They should create some kind of special mental institution for people like him...they are just going to keep getting crazier, as they can feel their time in politics is coming to an end.

All in the true spirit of "fair and balanced" journalism, of course...

O'Reilly calls someone else "low class"??? GOOD ONE! He's always bragging about his own low-class origins. He 'decorates' every sentence he speaks with "OK?" and "All right?"–standard signs to linguists of low-class language skills. He's a bully and the most belligerent personality I have ever seen on television. So am I 'Daily Kos' fan? Nope. II'm a liberal Republican of the John McCain or Olympia Snowe variety; I'm not an evangelical, and I believe in evolution. So don't typecast us all as troglodytes, "OK?" "All right?" I'm a Republican because I don't believe in Big Brother Government paid for by punitive taxes, and I don't believe in class warfare, where you steal money from the rich and give it to the poor. I think the Daily Kos are idiots; but I also think Bill O'Reilly is a disgusting egomaniac, and a major embarrassment to Conservatives.

Aren't Secret Service supposed to protect Presidential candidates from whack jobs screaming and pushing their way through a line? O'Reilly should be in surgery right now if they were doing their job. Heck, hire me for security and O'Reilly wouldn't be a "factor".

No one on this earth is going to block a shot...

    ROTFL.

Billo's ego is incredible – even for a Bobblehead.

I wonder what would have happened had it been Keith Olbermann trying to video of a Republican candidate. Yoo probably would have written a memo justifying Keith's indefinite detention at an off shore facility.

Mr. O'Reilly apparently greatly overestimates his importance. A journalists function is to report events, not participate. Maybe he should be catorgorized with Paris and Britteny instead of a serious journalist.
