O'Reilly gets in confrontation with Obama staffer

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

(CNN) - Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly had a confrontation with a staffer for Barack Obama’s campaign that the aide and several eyewitnesses claim became physical.

The incident began when O’Reilly tried to get Obama’s attention after a Nashua campaign event. He allegedly began yelling at Obama’s National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson to get out of the way. O’Reilly then, according to eyewitness accounts, shoved the staffer.

Nicholson told CNN O'Reilly grabbed him by the arm and started "pushing" him. Nicholson also said that when he asked O'Reilly to stop pushing him, the talk-show host responded that he was "low class."

O’Reilly soon got Obama’s attention, and the two men spoke briefly.

"They shook hands and Mr. O'Reilly said that he thought Sen. Obama was great and that he loved him, and he'd love to have him on the show," Nicholson said. "And then the senator said that he would think about coming on the show after the primaries."

Then the Secret Service intervened to ask O’Reilly to step back behind the barricade that marked the press area.

Speaking later on Fox News, O'Reilly said he tried to "gently remove" the Obama staffer so his camera could get a shot of the Illinois senator.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

Quit with all the venom guys. I watch O'Reilly nightly, he's fair, but certainly full of himself. The quote about "nobody blocks a shot on the factor" is exactly the kind of thing that has nearly made me stop watching. I don't appreciate his ever growing ego.

He holds everyone to task however, and that's what the haters won't admit.

I bet the secret service put him in his place, would have paid money to see that on tape 🙂

Why would Obama , not salute the flag or sing the National Anthem ? This was sent to me in an e-mail by a friend so I would know.

Would like an answer ,and why it is not mentioned by an TV station?

Yep – That's right Bernard - BHO has REAL class and character
He won't put his hand on his heart and participate in the Pledge of Allegiance,
won't wear the US flag pin on his lapel, and won't take the oath of office on the Bible - He's definitely the kind of man you socialists want in the White House.

Another case of O'Reilly acting like a pompous elitist...
Imagine if someone like Jon Stewart or Al Franken did this at a Republican rally; I'd bet all hell would break loose!

Bill O'Reilly is the low class fool – but then – who dosen't know that by now. Why FOX keeps him on is beyond understanding. He is a true waste of time.

O'Reilly is just another one of those cheap Fox-a-razzi hacks bent on soiling other people'slaundry for the sole enjoyment of massaging their bloated egos and furthering their right wing extreme jihadist agenda.

I've watched Bill on Fox from time to time and it does not surprise me that he took the approach that he did against the staffer. I don't know how the law reads in New Hampshire but here in Florida Bill had better be careful because with witnesses and putting your hands on someone forcefully as he did could land him and his camera in the "big house."

Wow, I noticed that when hilary gets boo'd you guys agree, but if obama gets boo'd, you go off the deep end. What a pile of hypocracy. True, she isn't my first choice either, but I think its a little bit off the wall.

Like Obama would ever go on his hack of a show. Like Bill really likes Obama, if Obama was on his show he'd just attack him. What a jerk.

linda in Ok, how is this negative toward Obama. It makes O'Reilly look like an ass, but it doesn't show Obama in a bad light at all. I don't see how CNN looks bad int this either. They just reported a story about Bill O'Reilly being Bill O'Reilly

This man is a disgrace and should have his pathetic show cancelled. He thinks he is so powerful, but to me, he is one of the most arrogant, self-centered, baffoon on any network. He is a real egomaniac.

O'Reilly and cameras should "get out of the way" themselves, because they are blocking the average American's attempt to hear a person's views whom they might vote into the Presidency (and I mean this literally, as well as figuratively). O'Reilly is all about negative-bashing, so why would anybody want to hear and see what he is catching on camera to re-hashand use in his spin-cycle on his show, anyway? Down in the front, O'Reilly.......wait--just get completely out of Americans' way.

Apparently no body else realized that the baracade was there to give Mr. O'Reilly exclusive access to Mr. Obama. Appaently, Mr. O'Reilly feels he need not play by the same rules that govern everyone but him. Its easy to understand his frustration as the GOP sinks however, its just the childish thing youd'e expect from a Republican when they're losing.

    GO OBAMA!!!
