O'Reilly gets in confrontation with Obama staffer

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

(CNN) - Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly had a confrontation with a staffer for Barack Obama’s campaign that the aide and several eyewitnesses claim became physical.

The incident began when O’Reilly tried to get Obama’s attention after a Nashua campaign event. He allegedly began yelling at Obama’s National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson to get out of the way. O’Reilly then, according to eyewitness accounts, shoved the staffer.

Nicholson told CNN O'Reilly grabbed him by the arm and started "pushing" him. Nicholson also said that when he asked O'Reilly to stop pushing him, the talk-show host responded that he was "low class."

O’Reilly soon got Obama’s attention, and the two men spoke briefly.

"They shook hands and Mr. O'Reilly said that he thought Sen. Obama was great and that he loved him, and he'd love to have him on the show," Nicholson said. "And then the senator said that he would think about coming on the show after the primaries."

Then the Secret Service intervened to ask O’Reilly to step back behind the barricade that marked the press area.

Speaking later on Fox News, O'Reilly said he tried to "gently remove" the Obama staffer so his camera could get a shot of the Illinois senator.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

I would like to know why the media has not picked up on the fact if it is true that you showed on your station why he turned his back on the flag and would not salute our flag. Why the media has not went after him like the did Romney because he is a mormon Thank you

Yea the only difference between Bill O'Reily shoving the staffer to get closer to Obama than me a ordinary citizen is that my butt would be sitting in jail right now with charges of assault levied against me. The arrogance of O'Reily saying nobody is going to block a photo shot for him. Why can I not say nobody is going to block a photo opt for me and me physically move the stafferr??????????????????/

Bill O'Reilly needs a reality check. He is the one who is low class! Sounds like someone could use charm school. Though, being that old and still a jerk, Bill O'Reilly might not ever change. Mr. Nicholson: You keep doing a wonderful job for the future President, and don't sweat the Fox News scum. O'Reilly: get some decency.

He knows that Obama would do wonders for his ratings. Obama isn't going to go on this guys show. Bill will get as much as he can out of this confrontation, but it will end there. He's part of what Obama wants to change about this country.

Reading all the low class comments, I have to wonder if those writers are typical of the ilk that are deluded in envisioning Obama as the next president.??

This man has no class, no scruples. It's too bad Senator Obama proabably didn't witness the whole thing. It would have been great if the senator dismissed O'Reilly for being rude.

His come-uppance will come sometime, sooner rather than would be nice. I'd love to see his hubris overtake him and disgrace him...and then to watch him slither back under the rock where he came from.

Waaaah... Wahhhhhhh!!! Im Billy O'Reilly and I want a better seat at the party.

What a fool, he needs to understand directions. I wish the Secret Service had taken him in for questioning. You know, the fair and balanced kind.

Bill O'Reilly is small town cheap, small town amateur and is classless. Why would any prominant leadership candidate be interested in appearing on the equivalent of Jerry Springer meets "news" interviews?

By the way, what happened to Dennis Kucinich and what is the Democratic Party afraid of?

He's actually one of the fairer of the talkshow hosts. The fact that he wanted Obama on the show is testament to that fact.
We weren't there and there are two sides to the story.
Maybe he should have apologized though. This sort of reminds me of the incident with Montel except he was very blatant and exclaimed I can have you blown up.
He needs a drug test for sure.
By the way, I want to vote Democrat but I would like to know what has Obama ever done that's note worthy? What bill has he cosponsored etc. He didn't do that well in the debates tonight from my perspective.

Oh Bill... you, Rush, Sean, and Glenn must realize your days of dividing this country are over and it is apparently driving you mad. I hope you grow up someday, but in the meantime the rest of this country will work together to rebuild after 8 devastating years of poor leadership and division. Here's to Obama for the next President of the UNITED States of America!!!

billo, and it seems that Fox too will soon follow, is socially irrelevant; this latest antic demonstrating his need to be seen with sensible people thereby attempting to validate his relavency to those few, sorrry, sad souls that he represents. He is not famous, he is notorious; his popularity rates right up there with briteny.

This behavior is not at all out of the ordinary for Bill O'Reilly. He is a crude, lying distortionist who is vulgar, shallow, narrow-minded, intolerant, ill informed and highly (and wrongly) opinionated. This man is a self-centered and paranoid pig, and to call him a journalist is an insult to genuine journalists worldwide.

Bill O'Lielly is a "water carrier" for the Republican Party just as Fox News is the propaganda arm of that party. (Rush Limbaugh, after the last congressional elections coined the term, admitting that he was sick of "carrying the water" for the Republican Party after they lost so miserably).

They are a propaganda organ, not a news organization, and should not be patronized. The sooner they are put of business, the better it is for our country. Candidates, guests, viewers, everyone should boycott this propaganda organ masquerading as a news organization.
