O'Reilly gets in confrontation with Obama staffer

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

(CNN) - Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly had a confrontation with a staffer for Barack Obama’s campaign that the aide and several eyewitnesses claim became physical.

The incident began when O’Reilly tried to get Obama’s attention after a Nashua campaign event. He allegedly began yelling at Obama’s National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson to get out of the way. O’Reilly then, according to eyewitness accounts, shoved the staffer.

Nicholson told CNN O'Reilly grabbed him by the arm and started "pushing" him. Nicholson also said that when he asked O'Reilly to stop pushing him, the talk-show host responded that he was "low class."

O’Reilly soon got Obama’s attention, and the two men spoke briefly.

"They shook hands and Mr. O'Reilly said that he thought Sen. Obama was great and that he loved him, and he'd love to have him on the show," Nicholson said. "And then the senator said that he would think about coming on the show after the primaries."

Then the Secret Service intervened to ask O’Reilly to step back behind the barricade that marked the press area.

Speaking later on Fox News, O'Reilly said he tried to "gently remove" the Obama staffer so his camera could get a shot of the Illinois senator.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

    Whooooa!!
It appears this board is totally biased.

Why is Obama affraid to come on O'Reilly's show?

Is he worried about telling the truth?

Or...affraid of being exposed for the radical liberal he is?

The way I see it, it's the "someone with experience" that got us into this mess the country is in. Time for some new blood in office.

As far as O'Reilly is concerned, he is a legend in is his own mind. Anyone with any sense would just dismiss him and that whole so-called "Far and Balanced" network.

This is what I've never been able to understand about news people and camera shots. I can stand wherever I please and if i'm in your shot, you should move to find a better shot. Why should I have to move for you? Does your right to have the perfect camera shot supercede my right to stand where I like? Welcome to a free America

I note from the above comments that the "Left" does not believe in responsible disagreement. Those of whom they disapprove are evil, stupid, or both. No compromises.

Oh you sorry left-wingers. Bill O'Reilly is the finest there is in TV news reporting. He has done more for pointing out the foibles of the far left-leaning (and totally un-American) media than anyone other than Rush Limbaugh. Wish his nightly TV time were trippled!!

Bill O'Reilly is a bigot and was there only to "Spin" something bad about Obama. The secret service should have put him down. O'Reilly is a terrorist and thinks the Bill Of Rights is mearly a "suggestion:

Fox News and Bill offer something very rarely seen on all networks: objective news and a perspective from both sides. Kudos to you Bill for getting a brief word with Obama. I happen to like Obama and hope that Bill will invite him on the show.

BILL OREILY(I SPELLED HIS SURNAME INCORRECTLY FOR A REASON),. WHY ? BECAUSE BILL O, IS "LOW CLASS", WHICH IS THE LABLE BILL USED TO DESCRIBE MR, NICHOLSON. BILL, IS A CERTIFIABLE RACIST, AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, ANYWAY. AND, JUST BECAUSE SEN. OBAMA IS BLACK DOES NOT MEAN BILL ISN'T A RACIST. MOST IRISH MEN ARE ! PEOPLE NEED TO START BOYCOTTING THAT FACTOR SHOW BILL HOSTS. IT'S COMICAL, TO ME, THAT BILL THINKS OF HIMSELF AS AN "ICON", AS WELL. TO ME AN ICONIC PERSON IS ONE THAT OTHERS ARE UNCRITICALLY DEVOTED TOO. MOVIE STARS, ATHLETES, ETC., BUT A HOST LIKE BILL AIN'T NO ICON. BILL IS JUST BASICALLY A MESSED UP PERSON. I WOULD HAVE BROKE HIS ARM HAD HE PLACED HIS PAWS ON ME, IF I WERE MR. NICHOLSON. SO BILL, YOU'RE A LUCKY MAN

It will probably just kill most of the people that post on here to know that I enjoy and admire Bill but I will be voting for Obama if he gets the nod from the Dems. I'm not going anywhere near Clinton or Edwards.

Give up Karen! Clinton's old hat, old news and wouldn't be here if she hadn't married Bill. The country's got "PCS" (i.e. Post Clinton Syndrome)

So O'Reilly can't get what he wants? Poor baby. He's had eight years of someone in the White House who is as rigid an idealogue as he is, and now he's facing the idea that some other point of view might prevail. No wonder he's pushy - he's in a panic that his time is passing.

The reason that liberals hate O'Reilly so much is because they fear him.His opinions are not politically correct and he doesn't care what other people think of him.#1 rated opinion show in america.

I would have decked Bill...not that I'd need much of an excuse. I have a feeling that just having him in your face is an exceptable excuse for assault.

Maybe they should put someone on staff that can put some old white man on his ass who might be trying to "get a shot" of the Senator. "No one is going to block a shot on the O'Reilly Factor." Let's test that theory, get someone who might actually push back. By the way Secret Service should investigate Bill's comments as a personal threat on the life of a presidential candidate.

Why is it that the conservative media does not think normal rules applies to them and they are above the law?

We have this guy O'Reilly who thinks that he is actually a media journalist and not a cheap entertainer roughing up people and laughing about it later. Then there are professional writers like Bob Novak who believe it is perfectly acceptable to publically out a CIA agent just to help the White House in childish politcal payback.

Why are the laws not being enforced? Why wasn't O'Reilly arrested for assault and battery? Why wasn't Novak charged with treason?

I see a lot of hatred being spewed out for Bill O. This will make his talk show even more popular. Making millions through hatred. Only in America.

Someone needs to take Mr. O'Reilly out back and gently remove a large chunk of his almost infinite arrogance and ego.

  24. Elizabeth,

I am the only person who will admit to liking O'Reilly's show. I don't agree with some stuff he says, but who could? When he says ridiculous things to warrant a responsible response out of one of his guests, I just think he is doing his job as a reporter. Allot of his commentaries are right on the money. He has been really big on supporting our troops regardless of political war fare, and has visited the areas hands on. How could that be bad? If you think he should stop openly supporting our troops and openly criticizing the areas of gov. where help is needed, then YOU are the ones who shouldn't be allowed on America's media front.
