O'Reilly gets in confrontation with Obama staffer

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

(CNN) - Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly had a confrontation with a staffer for Barack Obama’s campaign that the aide and several eyewitnesses claim became physical.

The incident began when O’Reilly tried to get Obama’s attention after a Nashua campaign event. He allegedly began yelling at Obama’s National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson to get out of the way. O’Reilly then, according to eyewitness accounts, shoved the staffer.

Nicholson told CNN O'Reilly grabbed him by the arm and started "pushing" him. Nicholson also said that when he asked O'Reilly to stop pushing him, the talk-show host responded that he was "low class."

O’Reilly soon got Obama’s attention, and the two men spoke briefly.

"They shook hands and Mr. O'Reilly said that he thought Sen. Obama was great and that he loved him, and he'd love to have him on the show," Nicholson said. "And then the senator said that he would think about coming on the show after the primaries."

Then the Secret Service intervened to ask O’Reilly to step back behind the barricade that marked the press area.

Speaking later on Fox News, O'Reilly said he tried to "gently remove" the Obama staffer so his camera could get a shot of the Illinois senator.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

Someone needs to take Mr. O'Reilly out back and gently remove a large chunk of his limitless arrogance and ego.

Maybe O'Rielly was telling the truth. If he was a liberal, you all would be saying he was just trying to do his job. I can see by the other responses that all you fools can continue to do is call people names and cast insults. Try doing an honest, non emotional evaluation of the issues and how those issues are best represented by the different candidates. Think about your country and your constitution. ( if you can !)

The only thing that would be easier to believe about phyiscal actions by orielly would be that the recipient was a female that would object to his phone proclivities. Foz puts up with him because they can't get any legitimate T V/RADIO person that would be willing to take his place. Maybe ann coulter or dick morris are the types that would fit Foxes needs. orielleys days are numbered . then he and his clone.hannity can hold hands and tip toe through the tulips

I am amazed that there was not one intelligent, profound comment made up to this point. Without the intelligence or education for a proper response, most just resorted to name-calling.

Bill is a great person and his show is the most watched on all of cable news. But I do like Hannity better. Look at the ratings. Fox is a great news channel. ( I wonder if they will post this on CNN. We will see. Vote for Hillary.

What a jerk. What else can you say? Except that it's pathetic that anyone at all still cares what BIll O'Reilly has to say about anything. He is, and always was, an ass.

Your comment that most Irish men are racist is completely incorrect and without basis. You should be ashamed for saying such a thing.

Yes, BO is arrogant and often radical. Why people get so riled up by him is beyond me. You are reacting exactly like he wants you to. Just ignore him, he'll eventually go away!

Sounds to me like O'Reilly, needs some real good phycothreapy... Why does this guy have to be so pushy and demanding?...Anyway, unlike Clinton, Obama talked to the man that was man handling his staff member, and took control of the situation.... I guess it does show who is better to be President of our country, Clinton or Obama..... I'm staying with Obama all the way..... I would love to see a wh ticket run with both Obama and Edwards on it..... NO MORE CLINTONS OR BUSH'S......

Hillary Clinton is the only obvious choice for President to get us out of the crap hole the "shrub" has gotten us into. O'Reilly is nothing but a Puke like that hypocrite "Rush". Obama doesn't deserve the press that CNN is giving him. Please pull all yer heads out and realistically look at who is best to turn our great nation back around. Hillary Clinton is the only choice.

I was at that event, and O'Reilly was on the scene with his camera, getting in people's faces about what they thought about Obama's speech. "Were you impressed?" he asked. I'm a bit shocked (actually, come to think of it, not at all shocked) at his callousness with regard to "blocking shots" of the O'Reilly Factor (given the fact that his camera was on a guy's shoulder, couldn't he have had his cameraman simply step slightly to the left or something?). It sounds very much like he went after a confrontation. Because, from everything I've seen of him, confrontation is his way. Not debate, not reason, not thought, not progress. Simple confrontation with the ultimate aim of bullying everyone else into aping what he says or "getting out of the way." His show ought to be reclassified as a black comedy.

Wwwahhhhh I got pushed. Stop crying and move on.

Did you ever stop to think that if there was a risk of a rap in the mouth, poeple in this country would be nicer to each other?

this man is a jerk, he is your typical right winger. he thinks he knows everything & has the right to do what ever he wants to do....there is no way in heck this man is a fan of obama, he just wants him on his show to humilate him and if obama agrees to do so he will get what he deserves...had someone treated o'reilly like this they would have been arrested...the right wing gives him all of their support and are his fan base so he gets off on pushing people around and making the headlines...

I agree Corey, O'Rielly should not have been given all this 'free' publicity. You don't shove, push, or put hands on anybody, especially a security officer. I'm sure this press time could have been spent on a better topic – Clinton/Obama /Edwards or Huckebee/McCain/Romney.

I used to watch Bill O'Reily, everyday. I did for the content. But slowly, I'm losing interest. I still watch his show occasionally, but not as regular. I still do so, but not for the content anymore, but just to see what kind of stupid things he would do such as this....it's entertaining....that's almost what he is good for...he has lost a lot of credibility. He is in the same category as Rush Limbaugh. I tune in to him occasionally just to be entertained. But I now take everything they say with a grain of salt.
