O'Reilly gets in confrontation with Obama staffer

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

(CNN) - Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly had a confrontation with a staffer for Barack Obama’s campaign that the aide and several eyewitnesses claim became physical.

The incident began when O’Reilly tried to get Obama’s attention after a Nashua campaign event. He allegedly began yelling at Obama’s National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson to get out of the way. O’Reilly then, according to eyewitness accounts, shoved the staffer.

Nicholson told CNN O'Reilly grabbed him by the arm and started "pushing" him. Nicholson also said that when he asked O'Reilly to stop pushing him, the talk-show host responded that he was "low class."

O’Reilly soon got Obama’s attention, and the two men spoke briefly.

"They shook hands and Mr. O'Reilly said that he thought Sen. Obama was great and that he loved him, and he'd love to have him on the show," Nicholson said. "And then the senator said that he would think about coming on the show after the primaries."

Then the Secret Service intervened to ask O’Reilly to step back behind the barricade that marked the press area.

Speaking later on Fox News, O'Reilly said he tried to "gently remove" the Obama staffer so his camera could get a shot of the Illinois senator.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

What a laugh... Bill O'Reilly calling anyone "low class". There is no one on this earth more rude, obnoxious or low class than Mr. O'Reilly!

Why does Obama have Secret Service watching over him? What happened? It doesn't hirt to look more presidential.

Can you get this story any more wrong?!? As long as it makes Fox News and Bill O'Reilly look bad, this is wonderful news for CNN but good grief, guys, it's obviously a lie! Too many FAIR newspeople have reported this and what you said is NOT what happened. CNN is obviously not to be trusted.

Oh, my! It's always a little funny when people who are so full of themselves do something so stupid...but with Bill-O, it's pretty much constant! If it wasn't so embarrasing that adults behave this way and have an actual forum to spout their stupidity, it would be hilarious. Anyone who takes any of Bill O'Reilly's comments (or anyone on Fox News) as believable needs help....I hope they all get it!

I always looked upon O..Reailly as kinda creepy. He sure does not have a "likeable" personality, as the current favored term in politics seems to be.....Otherwise I don't watch his program..and consider him a little affected...and touched in the head.. whats his beef, being a millionaire is tuff?

You guys leave Papa Bear alone now. 😉 Let Stephen Colbert handle this, hopefully, tomorrow night at 11:30 p.m. ET. Yes, I'm sure Keith O. will take him to task. Yes, I agree that Bill is way out of line. No love lost hear for the egomaniac. But, I also heard, several months ago, that Obama is great but some of his staffers are extremely difficult people and not pleasant to work with. That may not be relevant in this situation but it crossed my mine.

O'Reilly is an arrogant and now irrelevant clown. Obama can only sully himself by deigning to appear on the same stage as this moron.

I stopped watching Bill Oreilley's show over 2 yrs ago because of his uncouth attitude. He comes across as a very unhappy man with a bag of emotional problems. Sure he has a lot of money so does milions of others but that's no excuse for his rude behavior. The way he carries himself is only showing that he's missing something either in his personal life or business life that he can't achieve. I hope he has a therapist because if he doesn't he should think about one.

    Karen,
Are you kidding? You really can't be serious. You actually made this statement, "VOTE FOR HILLARY CLINTON who IS an agent of change and WILL repair the damage and reputation our country has fallen upon during these 8 miserable years of the shrubbery administration."

Why in God's name do you think Clinton will do any better than any of the other candidates? Is it because she's a woman? I can't believe that any clear thining individual would vote for someone simply because of race or gender.

Whom ever gets into office after the mess Bush has made of our country will do BETTER in the short run. We have to look further down the road for a decent recovery, and pick the person who can work with congress and get the USA back on track.

I don't see four more years of a Clinton White House being that cure....

O'Reilly should just go on Oprah's show, she is Obama's campaign manager.
Funny how Obama states that he would not allow lobbyists, but he accepts millions from Oprah. She is leading the serge against Hillary, and its also telling that Oprah's fans are 95 percent women, so instead of backing a woman, Oprah is backing a black man because he is black. Never mind that he has no experience, and we all know what 8 years of inexperience has taught us.
But, people are swayed by all the Obama-Oprah hype and advertising dollars, they are assaulting women's needs, women's intelligence and women's rights in our country. Go ahead, vote for Obama and get another George Bush that doesn't know his head from his back side. Yes, lets blunder again.

I commend the staffer because I was always taught to let people talk and say what they want but if somebody put their hands on you, you take them down.If Bill O'Reilly would of "gently" put his hands on me he would of drew back a knub!!!!!

I hope Richardson, Clinton, Edwards and especially Obama who all run on having foreign policy experience from somewhere realizes the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 and no longer exists. It is called Russia now boys and girls.

Yeah that speaks volumes for the Dems on foreign policy.

Only one candidate in last nights debates has more than an iota of intelligence and that is Ron Paul.

The rest are idiots that act like spoiled rotten little kids that need their butts spanked.

Vote Ron Paul for intelligence, honesty and integrity.

ps. it wont be long till the Dems and Repubs steal Ron Pauls platform completely.

Bill O'Reilly probably should have been more polite, but he was just trying to do his job. Many people in his situation probably would have been more rude. Especially all of you Whiney Democrats leaving comments on here. You people don't sound nice at all. You all probably would have punched the guy.
