O'Reilly gets in confrontation with Obama staffer

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

(CNN) - Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly had a confrontation with a staffer for Barack Obama’s campaign that the aide and several eyewitnesses claim became physical.

The incident began when O’Reilly tried to get Obama’s attention after a Nashua campaign event. He allegedly began yelling at Obama’s National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson to get out of the way. O’Reilly then, according to eyewitness accounts, shoved the staffer.

Nicholson told CNN O'Reilly grabbed him by the arm and started "pushing" him. Nicholson also said that when he asked O'Reilly to stop pushing him, the talk-show host responded that he was "low class."

O’Reilly soon got Obama’s attention, and the two men spoke briefly.

"They shook hands and Mr. O'Reilly said that he thought Sen. Obama was great and that he loved him, and he'd love to have him on the show," Nicholson said. "And then the senator said that he would think about coming on the show after the primaries."

Then the Secret Service intervened to ask O’Reilly to step back behind the barricade that marked the press area.

Speaking later on Fox News, O'Reilly said he tried to "gently remove" the Obama staffer so his camera could get a shot of the Illinois senator.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

What an arrogant ass. "No one is going to block a shot on the O'Reilly Factor." I certainly hope not if we use the term "shot" as it was intended. O'Reilly needs to realize that no one died and left him "boss" of the world. He truly represents the attitude of the general populas of the GOP – filled with hubris.

O'Reilly is becoming more and more unstable. The man is now shoving people around and he excuses it by saying he's "sorry we had to have that little confrontation...but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen." Does he not realize that his actions are inexcusable? That he had no right to touch the staffer?! What shenanigans is O'Reilly pulling? There's something behind this facade of "I really think you're great..." He needs to spend a little time in a mental institution because apparently rehab caused him other problems.

I can't stand him and I truly do not believe he "loves" Barack Obama. This is just his sneaky and snaky way to try to get him on his show and if he does, I don't think he'll be able to manipulate or degrade him like he wants to – Obama is way too "High Class". OBAMA 08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O'Reilly needs to get his testorone under control. If this jerk can't get along with a campaign staffer than maybe he needs to get another job. Why is everyone wrong and Mr. O'Reilly always right. O'Reilly is exactly what this country doesn't need. His employer should fire him and bring somebody in with an open mind.

What a moronic statement about "no one on this earth is going to block a shot." I didn't know this jackarse was the almighty one. He is just a disrespectful SOB and the Secret Service should have arm barred his arse into the ground with a knee in his back. Go back to the Sit and Spin Zone loser.

I cannot believe that Bill O'Reilly thinks it is ok to be physical with someone who is just standing there. It isn't all about Bill and the "Factor". Common decency has obviously gone by the wayside, and I think this sums up what kind of person Mr. O'Reilly is. What's worse is that he tries to explain it away. I don't care if someone is in front of Obama, that gives you no excuse to manhandle the person. Can anyone say control issues?

O'Reilly, your days of getting attention by being an arrogant pompous ass hopefully will end soon and you won't even bear a mention in the history books. You truely are no more than a legend in your own mind.

Hopefully he will go on and not chicken out!!

Give O'reily on thing he is tough and does believe in what hes saying...

Finally somebody will have the guts to ask Obama what hes done in politics that warrents him being our next president president. No wonder he will only go after the primarys. If he actually had to talk policy and how he can get it done in Washington, hed loose.
1 for 91 in passing legislation in the senate!! He voted the party line 96% or the time. Instead he will just continue talking about hope (without substance) and change (without knowledge/ablitiy). Id like to see him talk about specifics on the issues instead of making references to MLK, Civil War, American Revolution, Civil Rights movement. Obama all those movements have defined goals your candidacy has hope without goals.

Bill O'Reilly represents everything that is wrong with journalism, and for that matter America. He should be one of the reporters out chasing Brittany, that's the level his reporting skills are at. He's just an angry guy, who's always blaming someone for something.

Hmmmm.....whose low class in this scenario?
Billbo is so out of line so often it become one giant blurr of inappropriate statements and actions. Who is he to be the "class" police considering his own sex scandals and inability to censor himself in the slightest like any decent mature adult should!

This is outrageous behavior by Bill O’Reilly. We have enough violence in this world without Bill getting physical for the reason of “"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."”
If he thinks this is “good press” for his show, let me say we don’t need this kind of attitude. I listen to the B.O. show, and after this incident, I’ll be switching to “other” shows and will have nothing to do with his show!!! I hope his sponsors read a lot of these remarks and pull their endorsements. Kind of makes me think, if his sponsors like this bully, then I should take this B.O. boycott to a higher level and boycott anything sponsor that supports Bill O’Reilly…
