O'Reilly gets in confrontation with Obama staffer

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

O'Reilly got into a confrontation with an Obama staffer Saturday.

(CNN) - Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly had a confrontation with a staffer for Barack Obama’s campaign that the aide and several eyewitnesses claim became physical.

The incident began when O’Reilly tried to get Obama’s attention after a Nashua campaign event. He allegedly began yelling at Obama’s National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson to get out of the way. O’Reilly then, according to eyewitness accounts, shoved the staffer.

Nicholson told CNN O'Reilly grabbed him by the arm and started "pushing" him. Nicholson also said that when he asked O'Reilly to stop pushing him, the talk-show host responded that he was "low class."

O’Reilly soon got Obama’s attention, and the two men spoke briefly.

"They shook hands and Mr. O'Reilly said that he thought Sen. Obama was great and that he loved him, and he'd love to have him on the show," Nicholson said. "And then the senator said that he would think about coming on the show after the primaries."

Then the Secret Service intervened to ask O’Reilly to step back behind the barricade that marked the press area.

Speaking later on Fox News, O'Reilly said he tried to "gently remove" the Obama staffer so his camera could get a shot of the Illinois senator.

"We're sorry we had to have that little confrontation," O'Reilly added, "but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

That is a very unfortunate confrontation. I want to hear what Bill O'Reilly has to say before I pass judgement.

He's lucky I wasn't the staffer. I'd have knocked on his mouthy ass.

The arrogance of Bill is quite something. ..."but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O'Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen."

I'd like to see what he says if the Secret Service, or anyone in the military tried to block a shot.

Apparently Mr. O'Reilly is not a monotheist, he probably feels he is a God, too.
If nobody on this earth can block a shot for the O'Reilly Factor, then Bill must assume that he is supernatural by some means.

Way to go Bill! I detest rude behavior. Apparently Bill does too. If Obama wants to win the best thing he could do is get on the Factor every chance he gets. I would suggest this to all the candidates.

Given that O'Reilly was the perpetrator of physical bullying here, it hardly seems fair to headline the piece "O'Reilly gets in confrontation with Obama staffer", a headline which incorrectly implies that both O'Reilly and the staffer were complicit.

Bill O'Rielly is such an idiot. It's the people who can't manage to drum up the creativity or reputation to get an interview that needs to resort to this kind of cheap crap. You wouldn't see Anderson Cooper have to shove anybody to get a shot. Obama would have posed for him...

Despite the fact that he rightfully laid into Fred Thompson's wife yesterday for wanting softball questions on his radio show, Bill needs to calm down. Just because you're 6 foot and are big enough to push people around doesn't mean you should. Can't wait to see what Colbert does with this one.

What is curious to me is what was Billo doing in Democrat country? Did the Whitehouse authorize this? How odd that a Faux News Network EMPLOYEE being able to cross over! He should have been arrested!!! Poor Bill – trolling for ratings? Is Keith Olbermann making him have to WORK and sneak around behind the Bush Co???

O'Reilly pushed a staffer for a picture, and the Secret Service had to intervene. Surely a "culture warrior" knows better than to physically bully to get his way. Is it any wonder that the Democrats boycotted the Fox News debate, when they have clowns like O'Reilly lowering the level of the civic debate?

Bill O seems to have some serious social disorders and possibly a problem with pathological obstruction of the truth. If some one had done that to him...no doubt, a larger fuss would have been made of the situation. In my opinion he is nothing but a thug.... and shouldn't be allowed the honor of a press pass.... he has a history of being physically and verbally threatening to people whom don't see things his way. That is not some one whom who is fair nor unbiased... or mentally balanced.I do not feel we need Bill O in the media at all. He reminds me of a neighborhood bar room loud obnoxious drunk.
