Norris, an ardent supporter of Mike Huckabee, told reporters he believes serving as president accelerates the aging process 3-to-1.
"If John takes over the presidency at 72 and he ages 3-to-1, how old will he be in four years? Eighty-four years old - and can he handle that kind of pressure in that job?" Norris said, as Huckabee looked on.
"That's why I didn't pick John to support, because I'm just afraid the vice president will wind up taking over his job within that four-year presidency," added the action star.
Huckabee himself avoided offering his own opinion on whether McCain is fit for the presidency, saying "Only John McCain and his hair dresser know for sure."
Norris, who has been at Huckabee's side for weeks as the former Arkansas governor campaigns for the presidency, is hosting a fundraiser for the Republican White House hopeful at his Texas ranch Sunday.

What's ironic about Norris's statement is the fact that Chuck Norris will be 68 years old in March! He's only four years younger than John McCain.
Maybe Norris is seeking much-needed attention, given the fact that he is a HAS BEEN in the entertainment industry.
Who cares what a 68 year old, former movie star thinks? If McCain is too old, Norris is too old to take seriously. Too funny.
As, far as I am concerned Mr. Oh so Holyly Mr. Huchabee should apologize for Chucks comments, I know alot of older Americans that are a heck of alot older and they are as healthy as some people alot younger and look at Senator McCain's Mom, she I think is 93.. I hope this backfires on Huckabee.. What would him and Norris want to start Euthanizing the Older Generation. Again shame on them
Does Mike Huckabee really want Chuck Norris speaking for him? What a stupid comment. If too old is a disqualifier, than too stupid certainly should be a disalifier. The truth is that Mike Huckabee can not beat the Democrates. McCain is our hope of keeping the White House.
Real class act that Norris! He and the Huckster should do a comedy act together – jeesh what a couple of idiots.
Amen, this guy is way too old to run for president and besides has some crazy solutions to problems.
This comes from a guy who is a geriatric karate star. His carear peaked what, like 30 years ago?
I think Chuck's to old for Karate.
If McCain ages 3:1 in terms of wisdom and experience, then he's the best guy for the job. We know that the job is stressful and tiring. But with all the medical breakthroughs, one can still work with a sharp mind at the age of 85 these days. And what does Chuck Norris know about the ability of older people to lead? McCain might not be able to deliver a good roundhouse kick like Norris. But then again, that's not what is required of the presidency.
Chuck Norris is using up his "cool points" one by one on the whole Huckster thing. I'm not really sure why he choose a Lib in Cons clothing to throw his support behind, but if wants to step into the ring, then he can't claim neutral star status.
huck looks like gomer pile in this photo...go repubs
B, Reagan signed into law an amnesty bill as well as 8 straight deficits. At least McCain tells it how it is. You'd never get that from any other pathetic Republican.
Taking political spin from a guy whose IQ equals his belt size isn't exactly a point of advantage for CNN reporting. Chuck Norris is what he is, and fake imagery is definitely not what American needs to be digesting during this political season. How about letting us know where Huckleberry stands on the gay people he regularly demonizes?
..... I just can't vote for someone whose higher education consists of 2 1/2 years of Bible School.
No wonder Huck's not up to speed in international affairs. Maybe too busy deciding how he's going to rewrite the Constitution, while waving the Confederate Flag, rounding up people with Aids, pardoning rapists, publishing his "wish list" so supports know what gift to buy or naming the pheasants he shot after presidential candidates or defending himself against numerous ethical violations as governor... or encouraging churches to vote their values (wink, wink, wink,) being careful not to loose their tax free ride as they meddle in politics.
Narrow minded people, whose only issues are the Confederate Flag (and where to put the pole – I've never heard a pastor talk like that before) abortion and gay marriage need to realize there are many, many other truly important issues: looming recession, housing market, war, health care, immigration ... and on and on ...
For God's sake, and America's, send Mike back to the pulpit – that's where he's qualified to be.
I dunno about having him as a president, but for 72 he looks gooooooood!
My friends, let's not be too hard on Chuck Norris for his idiotic comments... This guy has taken more blows to the head than the Three Stooges
Republicans need to figure out the McCain is the only candidate that can win the general election. Like the Election of 1976, the bad taste of the Republican leadership as left a bad taste in everybody's mouth, and people want a change at the top. McCain has the appeal and integrity on the issues to capture independants and undecideds. Huckabee and Romney would lose big in the general election. So even if its only for one term, you have to vote for Senator McCain if you actually want to stop the Democrats in 08.
Ron Paul has more carisma than the Huckabee because Ron Is the only candidate that can read and understand the U.S. Constitution.
I'm not really a McCain supporter here...but C'mon Chuck...age discrimination is still discrimination...
Basically what he just said is the only reason he didn't support McCain was because of his age? Who's reason is he trying to appeal to here? Lets vote for Hucabee because he is younger than McCain? That's just stupid. Kind of like saying, since a man is not a woman I'll vote for HRC, or a since a man is not black I'll vote for Obama, or since a man is not a Christian I'll vote for anybody but Romney. This kind of ignorance will not advance the cause of freedom and democracy or do any good for our country. Just another example of a celebrity opening their mouth and looking stupid. I guess they are not really much different than the average person.
Can we get past the discrimination thing already...it's getting old, pun intended.
Once again the "positive" Huckster stands there while his bad facelift sidekick says horrible things about an opponent. This hypocrite must be stopped.
i'm tired of hearing about who chuck wants for president. who does ted nugent want, that's what i really want to know...
McCain's,
too old
too nasty
too trigger happy
too soft on illegals
and too much a Washington insider!
Norris is too old to continue making bad movies...
"Chuck Norris is too old to be on tv or in movies."
Foolish generalization. Just like his ageist comments about McCain. There are plenty of reasons to dislike McCain but his age isn't one of them.
People age individually. They shouldn't be stereotyped.
Age brings great plusses–more experience, greater wisdom, etc.
Ageism is as repugnant as discrimination based on gener, race, faith, etc.
he looks like the Lion on the Wizard of Oz - just google it. It's uncanny.
Reagan was 77 when he made the tear down the wall speech.
McCain is 71 and is holds the most campaign events of any candidate. He is very active.
Ron Paul is actually older than McCain. Ron Paul is 72 and no one asks him about his age.
Chuck Norris is 68 so he is about the same age as McCCain.
McCain's mom is 95 and travels around europe with his 98 year old aunt.
McCain's grandfather lived to 98. He has good genes.
