McCain: Chuck Norris might have to deal with my mom

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.l.cnn.net/cnn/2008/images/01/21/art.mommccain.gi.jpg caption="Can Roberta McCain put Chuck Norris in his place?"]
MIAMI (CNN) - Sen. John McCain on Monday dismissed concerns about his age raised by action-film star Chuck Norris, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee's most famous backer.

Norris, who has cut tongue-in-cheek campaign ads for Huckabee, told reporters at his Texas ranch Sunday that serving as president accelerates the aging process 3-to-1.

"If John takes over the presidency at 72 and he ages 3-to-1, how old will he be in four years?" Norris asked as Huckabee looked on. "Eighty-four years old - and can he handle that kind of pressure in that job?"

McCain sighed theatrically when asked about that remark Monday.

"I'm afraid I may have to send my 95-year-old mother and wash Chuck's mouth out with soap," he said.

McCain, who won Saturday's Republican primary in South Carolina, was on the stump in south Florida.

Thats funny I thought this was about the DEMOCRATIC DEBATE not McCain or Chuck Norris. Correct me If I'm wrong.

McCain is a survivor- never underestimate him. Norris' comment is blatant ageism. Ronald Reagan was one of the greatest presidents and he was in his 70s. Winston Churchill was in his 70s when he led the fight against the Nazis.

    Chuck is stupidly funny...
    McCain is purely funny.

Chuck should know all about the aging process, ever watch the progression of stunts on Walker, Texas Ranger? He looks like he has stunt doubles doing his 'action' sequences, either that or his martial arts are just really bad these days.
Btw, Chuck, McCain would be 76 in four years after he becomes 72.

Chuck Norris can be credited for tilting dependable senior citizen votes towards John McCain. Thanks Chuck!

Mr. Norris's paid opinion should not be taken into account. How old was Pres. Reagan? The "comment" should be disregarded as coming from a loser. McCaikn is a hero, a leader and a manager who will bring Americans together with great insight on foreign policy.

I take it that the line "Chuck is too ugly to be on TV" went around McCain's campaign bus, but they decided not to use it.

I like Obama more every time I listen to him!!!! If we are to truly have a change from the same old "Washington politics" I sincerely believe he is our next President. I'm saying a prayer for him every night!! I am 56 years old with 3 beautiful grandchildren whose futures I am afraid for. We have to get our country back to the strong role model for the world we used to be. We have to concentrate on keeping America great; focusing on the needs of our people and not what we need to do to ensure the growth and prosperity of others over and above our own people. America's "little people" can contribute greatly in this world if we are just given a fighting chance.

McCain will bring renewed energy into government as a Reaganite. Let's not forget that NAFTA, which is being cited by the three stooges on the dais, was passed under Clinton. Remember?????

The economic bonanza during Clinton's first period was inherited as a result of Reaganomics. Remember?????

During Carter's admin. there was double-digit inflation and interest rates. PanAm had to buy 747's at 20% interest. Remember????

The Vietnam war happened under the Kennedys. Remember?????

Mr. Norris's comment shows he has no idea what service to his country is nor the real cost of freedom.

Chuck Norris should resort to martial arts and not stick his nose into politics unless he wants to plunge into like Arnold S and work for society.

Mr. Norris needs to stick with action movies and exercising programs. Age ain't nothin but a number.

Norris should shut up and stick to his infomercials selling excersie machines. Nobody should talk about a hero that served our country for years and willing to spend the rest of his life serving it again, if the Dem party nominate Barak I will vote for McCain in the general election (hope he gets nominated).

I would not like McCain as president, but I have to say I think he is very "likeable" and has a good sense of humor.

Wasn't Regan beginning to suffer from Alzheimer's disease near the end of his presidency? Age is an issue. . .

Sorry, but I agree that McCain is a true hero, but honestly, he is too old for the presidency this time. His best chance was in 2000, but he couldn't beat Bush. Too bad, we probably would have turned out for the better if he had.

This can't be about revenge voting tho', if McCain's too old for 2 full terms, he's too old to be running. You do the math.

McCain means it too – remember he set his mom out against Romney, calling him out for his Mormonism. So Chuck Norris better watch out!

McCain is seven years older than Ronald Reagan when the Gipper ran
his second time for president. Are the Republicans willing to risk
losing the youth vote to someone like Obama by choosing McCain?

Robert Dole was too old and look what happened in '96. He was an
even greater war hero than McCain is and foght in a popular war we
won...not lost. Voters are not as concerned with a war record anymore.
