Clinton holds emotional meeting at Yale

Watch Clinton get emotional at a campaign stop.

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut (CNN) - Hillary Clinton became teary-eyed during an event at Yale University Monday - a moment that harkened back to her much talked-about display of emotion on the eve of the New Hampshire Primary.

Holding a campaign meeting at the Yale Child Study Center, the New York senator welled up as she was introduced by Penn Rhodeen, a public interest lawyer who worked with Clinton when she was in college.

Rhodeen praised Clinton's efforts as a college student and said, "Here is the abiding truth we know - you have always been a champion for children. Welcome home, dear friend. We are so proud of you."

Though it is difficult to see her reaction in footage of the event (see her reaction by clicking the play button on the right), Clinton's eyes appeared to grow misty during the introduction, according to CNN producer Sasha Johnson. When it was the senator's turn to speak she said, "Well, I said I would not tear up; already we're not exactly on the path."

Clinton's last teary moment on the trail occurred after an undecided voter asked how she was holding up. The moment instantly became the most-covered event on the campaign trail on the day before the critical New Hampshire primary, drawing both praise from some who said Clinton had finally bared her true self to voters, and criticism from those who thought the moment was calculated.

I find it dubious timing that once again as the polls turn on her she suddenly finds a wellspring of emotion. Though I believe Senator Clinton is a powerful force in politics I have a hard time believing she is truly here to promote anything but her own agenda, and time and time again she shows exactly how calculated she is in pursuing it. Once I suppose I could believe, but twice at such opportune moments really makes me question her sincerity.

Of course, CNN will spin this.....
Heaven forbid and Old friend treat Hillary like a human and speak well about her....one who holds old photos and memories of her from YEARS ago...he knew what she was capable of and saw a remarkable woman with a bright future.

Please let this man's memory stand as proof of the person she is......

Please stop reporting on the ocular secretions of Ms. Clinton. She's either calculating the tears once again before a primary day (in which case your reporting is playing into her tactic) or she's displaying human emotion (in which case your reporting is pointless).

The crocodile tears worked last time – why not try it again? What an obvious politically calculated ploy. Despicable.

Oh Lord... another calculated emotional moment. Has anyone realized that she always does this a day before the most important primaries? Don't be fooled, Hillary Clinton is not emotional.

The crying gag is getting old ! She'll really be crying after she gets the results from Super Tuesday. Crocodile tears may have worked before, but to "cry" a second time on the campaign trail is too much to take. Is she going to cry if we go to war ? Will she cry if we're attacked ? Give me a break ! Crying is not Presidential , it's simply an attempt to get sympathy votes, plain & simple ! Go Obama !

Does no one else see this as insanely manipulative? The only two times we've seen Hillary act like a real person have both been the day before big elections. Are Americans too naive to see through this? I hope not. Obama '08

Again with the crying??? C'mon already. Is this emotional and unstable behavior a sign of what is to come if she is to be elected to higher office? We need a strong leader who is not going to start crying at the drop of a hat.

Ohh, she must be reacting to the latest national Polls….

So she cries…again, the day before a HUGE election…hummmm…Nice way to show you're a "strong woman"!

Its a new age, a new time, for a new generation!

Look at the timing–getting teary the day before a major primary battle, again. How can this NOT be calculated?

Guess she know's she's in trouble again looking at the polls, time for some more "crockadile" campaigning.

Not again! The day before another voing. Yeah, right!
I really don't believe her now!

Not this again, the personality transplant. She's been described as shrill and calculating for decades. Why are we to believe that she's now sensitive? Ridculous. Why does it take 60 years for her to find her voice? Her opponent apparently found his a long time ago.

I feel pretty strongly anti-Clinton at this point, but this is just not a story. She was being introduced by a friend who's known her for 40 years, and she felt the emotion of the moment. No more, no less. Let's move on.

She cares and has always cared. At the same time is tough as nails. Exactly what we need. Obama is a nice guy and smart but he has no idea what he is stepping into. Hillary is fully aware of the presidential game and how to do the job.

This is honestly very, very pathetic. We can't afford to have a president who cries everytime she feels the emotion. Seriously, how will it look if she starts crying at the G8 Summit??!!??

Hilary, you're only undermining your power and losing credibilty among the American voters. The presidency requires a certain level of stolidness.

Interesting timing. Can this possibly work again? Her juvenile mud-slinging is exceeded only by her infantile cry tactics.

Once – OK a real person, a touch of humanity. But twice? Maybe contrived?

Come on, this is getting outrageous. Everytime she is losing she cries?? When will people wake up and see how fake she is. Is she going to cry every time in the Oval Office? We need a leader who is honest, not fake, and can keep his emotions in check.

Oh great. Here we go again.
Her first tear-up incident was belivable...until she slipped in a stab at Barack Obama in the middle of it.
Now, she does it again...the DAY BEFORE SUPER TUESDAY.
She cries about her campaign...while some families in this country are torn in half because they have loved ones in warzones.

She is really a trooper – teared up again. I hope the population can see through the mist and recognize it's all part of the grand plan. I wonder if she loses momentum after Super Tuesday whether or not Bill will come to her rescue again with his hatchet.

They worked before, claim her team, and it looks like Hiallary has brought the tears out again...for one final attempt to stop the Obama wave that is destroying her and Slick Willy's chance to get back to the White House.

"Boo Hooo, vote for me, I am a lady in emotioanl dsitress booo hoooo"
