Major union nod for Obama

(CNN) - One of the country’s biggest unions - the United Food and Commercial Workers Union - voted Thursday to endorse Barack Obama.

Obama’s Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, had also hoped for the union’s nod.

The union, which has more than a million members, is very active in Ohio and Texas - both contests the Clinton campaign is counting on to help her regain momentum in the Democratic presidential race.

It is also very strong in Pennsylvania, another major contest looming on the horizon, and is a major force in voter turnout in all three states.

The union represents workers in the meatpacking industry, in supermarkets and food processing.

Didn't a powerful union in Nevada endorsed him too but he still lost? Las Vegas workers choose to vote for Hilary.

    My question to Hillary Supporters!

Hillary talks about her 35 years experience but she can't even run her campaign! She raised $140 million and with out of control spending she have to loan her campaign $5 million. IF SHE CAN"T EVEN RUN HER CAMPAIGN HOW IS SHE GONNA RUN THE COUNTRY!

Also John Mccain has to get a loan to run his campaign after a disastrous start.

These two talk about experience but can't even run their own campaign.

Hahah... Hillary is shedding some real tears now. Her tears are different this time though... these don't evaporate and they can burn through steel.

NOT suprising because Obama is for amnisty and, as Lou Dobbs has pointed out, a lot of their membership is illegal aliens. UFCW is just another group of scabherders like the Service Employees that are more worried about collecting dues than protecting American workers.

No-one tells me how to vote, not a union, not a church, not the myriad of people who are making their silly endorsements. I vote for the person that I think will make the best President of this great country.

Unfortunately it means nothing. people vote based on their conscious. What would be the reason to endorse Obama over Hillary?

Please don't leave silly comments here. this means Obama has more support from the Union than Hillary. It doesn't mean he has won Ohion, Texas and PA....even though we are going to do just that in a couple of weeks, not because of the union but that nobody wants Hillary!

Hillary is out of touch with the average american. She claims to care but how can she when she voted for medical bills to show on one's credit report. People should take note to her way of thinking and realize that all her talking is just that, talk.

    Unions for Obama!

Hillary had her chance to provide affordable health care.. she blew it..

I'm not giving her the job again.

I'll bet the healthcare industry is a BIG SUPPORTER of hers.

Way to go UFCWU (United Food and Commercial Workers Union). Making the right choice at the right time. Obama is the only candidate who can help our country the best way better than any body else running today.. This will be looked back in history..
