AUSTIN, Texas (CNN) - CNN's John King asked Clinton about a Senate vote that isn't likely to play well with the Latino community: her support for a border fence between the United States and Mexico.
But Clinton quickly reminded voters Obama also voted for the fence. She doesn't want to be on the losing end of this issue.
Does she still continue to support a boarder fence? Clinton didn't really say: her position seems to be that after a careful review, it may work in some places. She is clearly backing away from this vote.
Meanwhile Obama quickly said he agrees with Clinton on this issue, and that fences may work in some areas.
Neither candidate wants to be on the wrong end of this hot issue in the Latino community.

The moderator cuts off Senator Clinton–has not yet cut off Senator Obama–my stop watch says that there is a major difference in the debate...what is going on at CNN?!?!
If Obama can't debate Clinton I can only image how McCain is going to chew him up.
It's not that he's copying everything she's saying, they just agree on alot of the same issues.
I guess Hillary Clinton's advisers have told her to attack her opponent, I would like to know about her plan and how it would work. How would hospitals be paid? How would hospital personnel be paid? Where would pharmaceutical companies fit in this? Would doctors have the final say in treatment as opposed to insurance companies?
Be gracious and get down to real business and do not look for audience reaction of hand clapping? Lets be mature! Be presidential!
Don't snipe at each other. Newscasters are showmen and show women.
Did Hillary just bring George Bush in on her side? I swear she does not even listen to herself as she talks.
Seems as though policy issues are quite similar, and the question comes down to leadership; Obama seems to have momentum in getting people involved in their government. I think this may be the key differentiator between the two. Hillary wants to "lead" by doing, and Obama wants to "lead" by doing and engaging.
I sur wish someon would explain how they will cut taxes on one hand and put all these agentson the border and give everybody heathcare. do they have a secret money tree besides my paycheck?
why is Hillary so contentious, one wonder why she is loosing answer the damm question. i do not like her
IF THEY CANNOT AFFORD IT – OTHERS WILL END UP PAYING THEIR HEALTH CARE
i've yet to hear Campbell Brown stop Obama but constantly stops Hillary . that's why i stopped watching cnn even Olberman and Cooper whom I used to adore.
The whole media is agaainst Hillary and I resent you all.
They are both only interested in themselves. They'll promise everything to everybody.........for free. Who's going to pay for the billions (trillions?) they've promised? JFK: Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. Sounds like a Republican to me. Do any Democrats understand this????
This debate shows one simple fact. Obama is the right candidate for the nomination of the democratic party. Hillary is old school and old policy while Obama shows intelligence in his ideas and is the right choice for us.
If virtulal fences work that seems to be okay with me. I don't think they are backing away from anything. I want the illegals kept out!!!!!
Clinton CAN NOT answer the questions in full as long as the CNN corresponder KEEPS interupting her !!!!! The debate needs to be timed.. and not allow Obama interupt without him not being stopped!!!!!! LET US HERE THE ISSUES !!!!!! PLEASE....
Hilary already failed at healthcare. How many chances does she expect to get? She didn't even regroup and try again, she just let the issue dissolve. How important is it to her, really?
Health care: Whats the problem the UK has universal health care
Clinton is so superior to Obama in every way....but one. He does have charisma...but she has smarts, knowledge, know-how and is incredibly articulate. He's been stuttering a bit and doesn't seem to have facts about anything, as she does.
For some reason, even though she looks better than she ever has, she still appears a little off-putting, but I find her more sincere.
I find her very commander-in-chiefish in demeanor and appearance.
Too much to cover. 1 how do you get jobs in Mexico when we don't have them here. 2 language this is America not ameramexico. Why is Mexico not teaching English to their citizens since many come here! and to be bilingual should that be Japanese ,russian, Chinese, or other major countries?? 3 whats wrong with a fence? it' called a road ,with ports of entry. Little background on me came here from Germany in 1965 learned English before coming here, served in the military for 8 plus years. I had to do it the right way. no one is willing to do it the right way it's all about the vote and telling who the audience is, what they want to hear.. They need to stop dancing around and say the hard cold facts.
Why does he keep posing all the questions to her? She never answers them.
On the issue of English, the fact is that all the other American nations have a national language, including Mexico. Will our country become largely bilingual?...of course. Do we need a common language, just like every other American nation...of course.
Are these the people the left really want in charge?
Is it true that the clintons receive around $10 millions a year from saudi , maybe thats why the coal fields have dwindled. Keep buying that oil keep the clintons rich.
that's when politicians play their demagogical game called politics. Reword and review the posotions according to the audience.
She is avoiding questions and rudely interrupting with her little last words
The fact that Hillary has experience does not mean it is good experience. Obama has lived a very educating life unlike Hillary's silver spoon upbringing. Now that is real experience!
