Clinton suggests she may release tax returns

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/02/26/art.clinton1.ap.jpg caption=" Clinton indicated she may release her tax returns before the end of the primary season."](CNN) - Hillary Clinton suggested Tuesday she may release her tax returns before the Democratic primary race is over, a seeming reversal over her long-standing position that she would not release the documents unless she is the party's nominee.

"I will do it as others have done it upon becoming the nominee or even earlier," Clinton said at Tuesday's debate.

Pressed if she would do it before the March 4 primaries, Clinton said she didn't have the time to get them together, but said, "I will certainly work toward releasing them, and we will get that done and in the public domain."

Obama released his tax returns late last year, and suggested Clinton do the same. He stepped up his criticism of the New York senator for not doing so earlier this month when it was revealed she loaned her campaign $5 million.

"I think the American people deserve to know where you get your income from," Obama said then.

Hilarity Clinton WON'T release them until she gets the nomination.
    Anything else is a LIE.

Is it just me? or did anyone else just notice that Hilarity just steped all over the First Amendment rights of People?????

The Lewis Farakon discussion where "people shouldn't be allowed to say......"

Oh my my my. If I had ANY doubts about Hilary they are all resolved.

ANy Democratic candidate that says 'people shouldn't be allowed to say' is NOT the candidate that cares about peoples right.

She's trying to get them together but she's too busy? Are we actually supposed to believe that? People have been calling for her to release these tax returns for quite some time now. She clearly has something to hide. HILLARY BELIEVES WE'RE ALL A BUNCH OF FOOLS!!!

    Just a comment.
Clinton claims experience and ready from day one.
Both Obama and Clinton have the same resume ie us senators.
Clinto has added only that she was with the other Clinton in the white house. Well so was Monica.
And as for accomplishments the only thing i know of that Mrs. Clinton tried was Health care. Didn't she fail?
The only other indicator is her campaign. That sure was mismanaged.
As for character, she seems like a mean spirted person.
    Thats all folks

She's certanly not the candidate that represents change: "I will do it as others have done it..." She represents secrecy.

I know Obama took the high road and my number one point is that " if Hillary thinks reject is stronger than denounce, then i will reject and denounce" That was unbelievable

I shut off the debate because I am sick and tired of the media always questioning Hilary and never her opponent – I can't even speak his name!

Honestly, who cares about her tax returns?? There are much more important issues to debate.

The debate seemed to be more of an interview of meet the press. Why was this question even asked?

Does this mean that he also rejects/denounces his church and pastor of 20 years? He could have always gone to any other church!

Laura Johnson, Did you watch the debate tonight? Even if Obama were the nominee, the Republicans can't wait to get a hold of him. Bill Cunningham started the attack today. I just wonder if Obama will agree with MCcain.

A person's tax returns say a lot about them.

Hillary says she's for the working american ... but yet, she makes a lot of money *consulting* for the *big companies* ... The two don't mix because corporations don't care about the poor and blue-collar americans.
