Girl in Clinton ad supports Obama

Watch Casey Knowles on American Morning Monday.

(CNN) - Casey Knowles has graced the airwaves this month as the unwitting star of a headline-grabbing campaign ad for Hillary Clinton. But the 17-year-old is hoping to grace the small screen this campaign year for another presidential hopefully: Clinton’s Democratic rival, Barack Obama.

Stock footage of an 8-year-old Knowles sleeping – shot when she worked as an extra in TV commercials - was used in Clinton’s “red phone” ad, which asked “Who do you want answering the phone at 3 a.m.?” in the case of a foreign policy crisis.

But the high-school senior – who will be eligible to vote in the general election – is actually a passionate supporter of Barack Obama’s, and has been volunteering for the Illinois senator’s campaign.

“I think it would be wonderful if Barack Obama and I could get together and do a counter-ad,” she told CNN Saturday.

Appearing on CNN's American Morning Monday, Knowles said she was shocked to discover she was in the commercial, and said it made her feel disloyal to Obama.

"It makes me feel a little disloyal and kind of," she said. "It hurts that footage of me would contribute to a candidate that I'm not necessarily supporting. Hopefully Mr. Obama would forgive me. "

Knowles, who lives in Washington State, also said she plans on helping Obama in Oregon ahead of that state's primary in May.

"They want to get me down there and hopefully get me to help support and get campaigning going on down there," she said.

In Wyoming on Friday, Obama told voters at a campaign event that people shouldn’t worry about what he’d do if an emergency 3 a.m. call came into the White House when he was president.

“What do people think I’m going to do? I’m going to answer the phone,” he said.

I think it's pretty funny, the 3am gilr wants Obama to answer the phone. The girl's got a good head on her shoulders. Not because she's an Obama supporter, but because of how she carries herself in the media. How would you guys act if your image showed up in an ad for someone you didn't support? Some of the responses here make me shake my head in disbelief.

    Ms Knowles, you GO girl!

Another example of meaningless news to divert our attention off the substantive issues of our day. If it tickles our ears it becomes a news story.

"Realitycheck," check your facts: "Obama Girl" didn't vote for Hillary, she skipped her state's primary entirely! The NYTimes covered the story at the time.

Once again, CNN is airing free press in support of the Obama campaign.

Perhaps Ms. Knowles ought to think twice before speaking out about her political support to Obama, especially if she receives residuals for the television footage. It just may come back to haunt her and hit her in the pocketbook. Just ask the Dixi Chicks or Whoopi Goldberg, both of whom were subjected to backlash for expressing their political beliefs.

wow this is what its come to the level of these so called educated Obama supporters is very low. can we talk about an issue that will benefit this nation pls.

1-Obama and camp throws dirt its ok, but hillary throws dirt she's washington as usually
2-Obama and camp call hillary a monster its ok and repeated by most supporter its ok, but she is acused of being the racist.
3-Hillary makes a 3am readyness add she's fear mongering, but Obama makes sAme 3am fear mongering response ad, SILENCE he's let of the hook for the same thing Hillary did WHAT CHANGED WORLD IS THIS!!!!!!!
All i want is lets have the same standard for everyone

A few people have stated she can't vote that isn't true. She is 17 will be 18 prior to election day, and 17 year olds in Washington can particiate in the cacus as long as they turn 18 prior to election day. She not only supported Obama in the Caucus, but was a precinct captain for her cacus.

most of hillary's supporters keep on derisively calling obama as saint. i'd say between the two of them, if honesty, fairness and being dignified (the requisites to being a true leader of our country), then so be it. he's so much more a saint that either clintons.

what a smart girl after all...

barack obama is able to enthuse such young voters - that's a big deal for the democratic party.
and it's an even bigger deal for the youth who have finally found interest in voting.

Any would-be President will tell you that they will be President for ALL.
Whether you are Republican, Democrat, Independent or whatever.

Perhaps OBAMA aspires to be President to only those who support him.

    What a pity !!!!!

Couldn't Hillary have gotten volunteers from her own campaign rather than using stock footage? Seems a little dull witted and uncreative to me.

Why am I not surprised that someone who needs to be in front of the camera would support Obama? Obama is one big media creation

I can't believe people are saying they "don't care what she thinks". She's a voter. So her opinion matters just as much as yours does. the only twist is that a video of her was used to promote a candidate that she doesn't side with. If you can argue that it was a valid statement to use an video of a innocent child sleeping to shake up some votes (and I can't understand why they would use this video in the first place, other than to pressure people into voting their way); if this tactic is "okay" with you, then it should also be "okay" that the people who are actually in the video get to say what they couldn't say in the ad. This one just ends up biting Clinton in the behind. She (Clinton) reminds me so much of Wiley Coyote. She is always plotting and then BOOM.. it backfires on her (esp. true when they debated). It's actually comical.

Does anyone listen? So judgemental! She WILL be voting age at election time. You people better wake up and pay attention. She is an intelligent girl and part of the future of this country. Her opinion DOES matter. Quit discounting the brains of the young. They're not all saggy-pants-wearin, superficial morons as most of you elude to.

    Go Barack!!

Since we all know who doesn't have anything to worry about supports Clinton.
People who needs health care, strong economy & world peace supports Obama.

He has more legislative experience than Hillary does.

    Smart young girl!!!!
Folks, Hillary is not as smart as you and I. It is all an act.
Now do you really want her to be President of the U.S
If she is so great, why does she have to pull out all the

Obama 2008 for President Only. Not to V.P. under the
    Clinton lying regime.

I have been contemplating what i would do if Clinton win the Dem Nom. I started asking all of my friends and family that are Dems what they will do and my family is big along with all my friends. we decided to start a poll of all our friends and family here are the numbers of what we decided
out of 1000 people 50 say they would stay with Clinton 200 were already Clinton fans and 750 would not vote for the Dems but vote for Mchain to show how much we distrust the Clintons.

Senator Hilary Clinton accused Senator Barrack Obama of plagiarism for using words that had been used by someone else, who happens to be afriend. Is the use of someone's picture without her permsision not plagiarism by Senator Hailary Clinton?

This is rich only the Clinton's would try to spin there losing into a disaster. No one I've spoken with would be surprised if this wasn't a back up plan all the while. Sen. Obama's the front runner like it or not and he has stuck to the rules of not only the DNC, but his own campaign. The Clinton's are so despite to get back in the White House not only would Hillary lie, cheat, steel or undercut her opponent. She'd try to rip the Democratic Party apart while endorsing Sen. McCain, because she's losing. This behavior doesn't make her tough, but it does make her a degrading human being. She's obviously in co-hoots with so many that a dream ticket would go against every thing that Sen. Obama represents. The DNC needs to do the same thing that the Republican Party did. Take control and endorse Sen. Obama while they steal have a party to work with.
