Sirius Radio launches 'Client 9 Radio'

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption=" Spitzer resigned his post Wednesday."]NEW YORK (CNN) - For those who can't get enough of the sex scandal that brought down New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, Sirius Satellite Radio has launched what it is calling "Client 9 Radio," a special channel dedicated to covering all aspects of the Spitzer saga.

The new station began broadcasting Friday at 5 p.m. ET, the company announced. Programming will continue only until midnight on March 17, a statement from Sirius said.

Spitzer resigned Thursday after a federal probe looking into suspicious money transfers linked him to a prostitution ring.

He apologized for not living up to expectations, but did not admit to anything specific. Spitzer has not been charged with any crime.

The new channel was launched in response to strong interest shown by Sirius' audiences in the story, the company said.

It will offer a "forum for this national conversation," where listeners are invited to call in and discuss all aspects of the story.

Additionally, "Client 9 Radio" will offer segments produced with Sirius commentators and experts, such as Judith Regan and Bill Bennett, the statement said.

Clearly, a station set on doing something to help this country.

It's not like our economy is tanking or we are in a war that we can't get out of or gas prices are high or anything like that.

    Let's listens to some hookers!

What a disgrace. It's the steamrollers you have to watch out for, the uptight, hard right creeps that take no prisoners. They are secretly a bunch of letches. How many have fallen in the past two years, about 10 or so.

Why don't they just leave the poor guy alone.... He made a mistake and paid for it.

Why aren't they doing a wall-to-wall show about the continuing lies, corruption, and offenses of Bush, Cheney, Rove, etc..?

So that paragon of high roller morality Bill Bennett will be a commentator. Why am I not surprised. Even high rollers like Bill need a few bucks now and then. Oh Bill. If only we could all be as moral as the Vegas high roller Ed Czar. You are such a greal role model for all that is virtuous and upright about America. We need high minded models of moral turpitude like you to vanquish monsters like Spitzer. Long Live Bill!!! Long May He Roll!!!!!

The key line here is "Spitzer has not been charged with any crime." And yet Sirius is going to devote hours of air time for a "national conversation"? How about an ongoing dialogue on more substantive issues, such as our sinking economy?

    Tabloid Nation.

    That's us.

Come on. John McCain and Ed Koch have better things to do than tie themselves to the Eliot Spitzer debacle.

And what does it say about this society that Sirius Radio would think they could profit and draw customers by broadcasting this trash?

Americans would do far better to educate themselves on the real issues facing this country and not waste time on a has-been governor's tawdry sex life.

We have real problems that need real solutions – and we need them soon. Issues like our dependence on foreign oil, the state of the economy, the war in Iraq, and climate change. There is no way Eliot Spitzer's dallying can hold a candle to any of those problems.

And what will Americans do when the bills all come due on the real issues? Probably cry and whimper and blame someone else for their troubles.

Wake up, America. On all of the real issues, individuals can do far more to help our current state than an unwilling and preoccupied Washington.

Tune out the Client 9 channel and get busy working on things that will actually impact your lives and the lives of your children.

Unlike Bill, he was not doing his job while getting a job!

You would think that an ex-attorney general would know better than crossing state lines to get his jollies.

Whatever happend to "shop locally" – I'm sure the citizens of NY are peeved!
