Clinton will visit Michigan to press for re-vote

MILLERSVILLE, Pennsylvania (CNN) - Hillary Clinton has scheduled a last-minute campaign stop in Detroit for Wednesday morning, a move the campaign says will spotlight Michigan's efforts at a primary re-vote and keep the pressure on Barack Obama to consent to another election in the state.

The Wednesday morning event is billed as a routine "Solutions for America" campaign rally, but Clinton spokesman Mo Elleithee said the trip is intended to put the focus squarely on Obama, who has resisted agreeing to re-votes in Florida and Michigan.

"The ball is in Obama's court," Elleithee said. "Senator Obama is in the way, so she's going to go to Michigan to press the case personally." In a conference call held earlier in the day, Clinton aide Phil Singer also said the ball was in Obama's court.

"Why doesn't he go ahead and say, 'Let's do this'?" said Singer.

A draft proposal currently under consideration in Michigan calls for a new Democratic primary to be held on June 3, to be paid for with private money. That plan would have to be approved by the state legislature. The state Senate Majority Leader, a Republican, has said he will not give his support to any plan that does not have the consent of all the parties involved, including both presidential campaigns.

The Obama campaign on Tuesday again accused the Clinton campaign of attempting to change the rules late in the electoral game to garner delegates, saying it continued to harbor "valid concerns about the proposal" to hold another primary in June.

"We have raised these concerns, as legislators in Michigan did today, and we're waiting to see if these issues can be resolved by the legislature," Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor said in a statement.

I think we all know why Obama is afraid to let Michigan and Florida re-vote. If we just took the Michigan and Florida votes as is, Clinton would be in the lead now by 20 delegates!

Wow, taking time away from Pennsylvania to go to Michigan. It's not gonna work. If Florida decided not to do a re-vote (IT'S FLORIDA!!!!) then there's no way Michigan will.

Just step aside Hillary. Face reality, look at the numbers even with Michigan included, your chances of stealing this nomination by pandering to superdelegates are slim to none. Hasn't the party been through enough crap? Let's get behind Obama and focus on defeating bomb bomb bomb Iran McCain for the good of all mankind.

Here she goes throwing her weight around. This is exactly why I changed my mind and voted for Obama. She is so darn pushy in everything. Sometimes you have to know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em.

As much as I would love to be able to show support for my candidate and have Obama win Michigan in a fair election, I don't believe it is in the best interest of our democracy. The DNC gave rules to follow, whether they are fair or not, and Michigan knew what it was getting into when it moved it's Primary up. And so did the candidates! HRC and Obama both agreed to strip our state of our delegates. Now we should be following the consequences put forth. End of story.

Amazing! Winning by any means necessary,,, unbelievable. There were rules,,,,, they both signed off on the rules. Why doesn't Hillary just chill and accept defeat. If this scenario were turned around and she was ahead in pledged delegates by only 1, she would be calling for Barack to conceded the entire nomination. She just can't accept that people 'the majority" don't want her. Imagine that!

Obama is a LIAR ! He lied about,

    1. He said all his church talked about was Jesus, then admitted that he had been present when the Anti-American statements were made.

    2. He said he rejected the statements but yet wont disown them (Maybe not a spoken but livin a lie)

    3. He lied when he said his campaign is made up of $25, $50 & $100 contributors – Oh, then he remembered the $150,00 Louis Rezko gave him. But then he lied about that too because it was actually $250,000 – that we know of.

    4. He lied when he said he would not require pre-conditions and meet with Dictator Leaders such as Rual Castro AND in the very next breath proceeded to YES, Outline PRECONDITIONS !

    5. He lies everyday he refuses to wear a US FLAG Lapel pin even !

Bottom line is he has NO CREDABILITY TO BE PRESIDENT and he changes his story almost Daily now. America has caught on and Obama is FINISHED. HELLO MADAME PRESIDENT CLINTON !!

Take note Obama and Obama fans...Michigan is likely to decide this election and is now listed as a Toss-up...ignore them to your peril. And again if Michigan or Florida has an approved do-over primary or caucus before June is within the rules and considered valid. People should read the rules before claiming someone is breaking them.

What on earth is the matter with the Clintons.
There are rules and procedures in place and people that determine how the process is supposed to go on from this point. She needs to step back and let the DNC handle it. I am so sick of her bashing Senator Obama every time she opens her mouth.

Enough is enough – the American people are sick of it!

Isn't is obvious? Obama doesn't believe in democracy unless it's in his interest.

Obama doesn't want the Michigan votes counted. He wants to continue to disenfranchise the state.

I'm sorry, they broke the rules. If we don't enforce the rules, we can cast order out the window. Split the delegates down the middle. It will allow the delegates to be seated, but will give the message that the states caused this themselves and examples must be made for future races.

If Obama doesn't agree, they should allow the previous votes and delegates to count. This 2 face obama needs to move on...

Why won't Obama let the people vote?

    What is he scared of?

Suppressing the voices in Michigan and Florida will not help him in November if he's the Nominee.

That's just not smart politics if you ask me.

It seems everyone should do things the way Hillary wants and WHEN she wants it! This was a problem in January why the chaos now?

Besides, is she williing to pay for the re-vote? Why blame Obama? Even if he agrees then there's the pronblem of financing a new election. Let the states deal with this.

shameless, nothing less to say, she is gonna pump the disenfranchised card no matter what the consequences. i feel sorry for clinton followers, for while her opponent takes the race issue head on looking very presidential, she is running around stirring the pot. which of these candidates is ruining the ideal of being a democrat.

I think she is adding fuel to the fire. Their legislature has said it is a slim hope. I think we all agree WHY WASTE THE MONEY, FOR A SLIM CHANCE THE DELEGATE COUNT WILL CHANGE?

To those posting angry comments, I want you to think about just how angry you are. Then remember, that things that happened to young black men in the 50’s and 60’s fighting for equal rights, being beaten, hosed down, spit on and publically shamed. Now to those who ABSOLUTELY refuse to understand why Barack did not disown, a man who brought Christ to his life, and who he had experienced in a better light, ask yourself this.

If you are that angry over words, imagine how angry Wright must be considering he felt the PHYSICAL PAIN of racism. What gives you more right to be more angry, than Wright!

I do not agree with Wright, nor do I hate him for his comments, but I understand!

That is what Barack is trying to have you realize. He did not make those comments, but he understands where they come from!

Stop the hate, and start thinking of what you can do to solve the problem!

Hillary, no matter how hard you try, the outcome is not up to you. It is up to the voters of Michigan and the state's Democratic comittee. Your presence is trully unnecessary. We understand what is going on. We don't need you to come here and tell us that we are "disenfranchised" voters, because we understand the circumstances, which is between us and Jennifer Granholm. She is at fault for moving the Michigan primary forward and breaking the DNC rules, which you, Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, and Christopher Dodd also broke by remaining on the original ballot. We understand that you are trying very, very hard to somehow have an influence on this outcome and turn this thing around to work in your favor, but really, it is out of your hands.
