CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands (CNN) - For three days, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is enjoying some private down time on the island of St. Thomas, a source close to the U.S. territory's Government House in the capital of Charlotte Amalie confirmed Monday.

The source also confirmed that Gov. John deJongh "unofficially" met with the Illinois senator and his family upon their arrival at St. Thomas' Cyril E. King Airport Sunday morning.

Obama campaign officials had been vague about the Obama family trip.

The senator will resume campaigning on Wednesday in North Carolina.

Boy, the "casting" of stones!!!!! No one is asking you to vote for any of these candidates. Wouldn't it be great if everyone of us could actually start a constructive blog instead of destructive? Wouldn't it be nice if each and everyone of us could actually ask each other one question as to how we are going to get out of Irag or how each of us could address the economy and come up with some ideas?

But I guess that would be impossible, wouldn't it?

Great job, John. "Haters, sore losers, pointless fanatics." That's the way to reconcile Hillary's supporters to Barack.

And you wonder why we are willing to carry this to the convention floor – and beyond.

Glad the Obama family went on vacation – last week was tough, but he had to learn about media bias sometime. And he proved he could overcome it and then some. He deserves a rest.

I do hope that the people of St. Thomas are not fooled by the Governor entertaining Obama and Family.
It is a Democratic Society and yes, Obama can e entertained by the Governor – I don't think he is a Gov. Bill Richardson!!
People of St. Thomas, think about the future of your life and that of your children and children's children and vote Wisely – vote for the True Democratic Candidate who will address the issues which will improve the Economy for all – VOTE HLLARY – for Solution.

Obama makes the news when he's on vacation? Clinton gave a big economic speech today but somehow, someway we are wondering where barack is? shows how much Americans love this man, we always want him around......I see Hillary raising her hand again....."talk about me please, i am still in the race"

Talking about news..Tiger woods also makes the news this days only when he loses.....Hillary should learn something from that.

Hillary Clinton gives a major speech effecting the whole country on the housing crisis and our economy.
CNN broadcast parts of the speech, while MSNBC and FOX ignore it.
But all three neworks give wall to wall coverage of the mayor of Detroits sexual encounters.
Again what effects the country matters little to CNN, MSNBC, and FOX when compared to the sexual arousal story which will boost their ratings, and give them something to broadcast for days and days.

It is good that the Obama's are enjoying some well-earned rest. The good senator and his wife deserve and need a time out.

Senator Clinton looks tired, as well, and should take some time herself.
