CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands (CNN) - For three days, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is enjoying some private down time on the island of St. Thomas, a source close to the U.S. territory's Government House in the capital of Charlotte Amalie confirmed Monday.

The source also confirmed that Gov. John deJongh "unofficially" met with the Illinois senator and his family upon their arrival at St. Thomas' Cyril E. King Airport Sunday morning.

Obama campaign officials had been vague about the Obama family trip.

The senator will resume campaigning on Wednesday in North Carolina.

Did he use some from Rezko contributions to his campaign? Is this one of the charities he gave the campaign contributions to??

We in the Virgin Islands are so proud to have the next president visit . Over 1.2 million people visit the Territory each year. The Clintons visited twice during the 1990's and were welcomed as well. But make it clear, the Virgin Islands is Obama country. We gave hime the highest vote total during the primary. And for the idiot who made mention to our black population, the white voters voted for Obama too.

From the looks of things, it appears that most of the people posting here are democrats. Instead of this bickering between allies, lets forget about this non-story, let the Obamas enjoy their privately funded vacation and figure out a way to stop the Republican propaganda machine from brainwashing the country into another 4 or 8 years of misery. I am most definately voting for either of the candidates over the new face of the Bush regime. Why are Clinton-ites bashing Obamanics and Obamaniacs bashing Clinton-ites anyway? The candidates are so similar to each other, its like Bush calling Cheney an unscrupulous individual,- that is if he could say it.

    Sometimes I don't understand Americans...

Our fathers and mothers, in one way or another, fought for our freedom to vot, and have free speech and we waste our free speech on tearing down each other being overly critical of each other's RIGHT to choose who they–not you–want to vote for.

Please people, stop. Be glad you had a chance to vote for any candidate, accept (when the time comes) the result, and accept that every other american had a right to choose too, and that their choice is theirs... and should not be your excuse to destroy them verbally and with hateful remarks.

Good for him; he knows how to run a campaign and still have some money left to go on vacation. Clinton is cash-trapped and cannot take a vacation. She should try and have experience on how to manage and run a campaign.

Obama; Why didn't you take your "Pastor" with you to give you some
advise on Easter. You missed the black religious experience in
church on Easter: new insight on your 10-point Vision's of the Trinity Church of Christ. Maybe on #4 A CONGREGATION WITH A NON-NEGOTIABLE COMMITMENT TO AFRICA. not a commitment to the country that you want to be president of.....Richarson should go to that church also...maybe he would get more than 1 or 2 percent of the Mexican vote.

You want to know what fuels the Clinton supporters? It's knowing that Obama is nothing but a farce. No substance and a liar, possibly a closet racist. That is what fuels us. Have a nice day

There go your donations Obama fans. Meanwhile Ron Paul is debating Ben Bernake in Congress and fighting to restore our liberty. Despite staggering odds he has even opened a campaign office in PA. I'm voting for a true statesman not an opportunist.

Let the DNC chickens come to roost !

Black America should open their ears and eyes
They are doing it again, the good old boys.
Who believe is their inherent right to run this country
Who Control the boardrooms of Corporate America
Who Control the media and try in an overt way to shape our lives
So they have found the perfect excuse to derail a perfectly good Candidate
Over their dead body a black man rules America
If and the DNC somehow, Purposely or overtly pick Hilary, I say let the Chickens come home to roost!
If this Scenario plays out, I say stay at home to protest come November
I say it again do not vote, do not vote; let the DNC know YES WE CAN!
And after the chickens come home to roost, maybe, maybe the black vote and sentiments will be taking seriously!

Maybe he can make a quick side trip to Florida and explain to the Democrats here why he will not allow our votes to count.

He can relate to the average black man, yes he can. How many of us average, typical white people can afford a vacation on St. Thomas? How many average black people can afford a vacation to an Island paradise? He can do it, yes he can........

Now that is what I call a vacation. Barak needs one after the week he just had. But don't worry his hacks are doing the work while he is gone. Governor Richardson will answer all questions. So start asking them. I want to hear from other HIspanics on the subject of
whether you think Richardson should have supported Hillary.
