Richardson: I never promised Clintons
(CNN) - New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson on Wednesday sharply disputed Bill Clinton's reported claim that Richardson promised not to endorse Barack Obama's bid for the White House.
"I never did," Richardson told CNN. "I never saw [President Clinton] five times. I saw him when he watched the Super Bowl with me. We made it very clear to him that he shouldn't expect an endorsement after that meeting."
Bill Clinton's comments reportedly came during a recent meeting with some California superdelegates. The San Francisco Chronicle reported the former president got "red faced" when the subject of Richardson came up and said, "Five times to my face (Richardson) said that he would never do that."
In the interview Wednesday, Richardson acknowledged he was "very close to endorsing" Clinton, but decided not to after the campaign got "nasty."
"I held back. I waited. I felt the campaign got nasty. I heard Senator Obama; he would talk to me continuously," Richardson said.
"The Clintons should get over this," he added.
Richardson, a former U.N. Ambassador and Energy Secretary in the Clinton administration, endorsed Obama late last month.

Well its crystal clear why Governor Richardson endorsed Senator Obama and ditched Clintons because he saw the chance of getting a VP ticket. Everybody knows Senator Obama needs Hispanic votes desperately in November which he has failed to get upto this point in Primary season and Governor can bring that on presidential ticket for Senator Obama. Governor fits Judas role perfectly.
Richardson not only let the Clinton's down, he has let the entire state of New Mexico down. He purchased the plane with state tax money, so he could go and do as he pleased, all the while forgetting the people of New Mexico who had supported him, and we in turn were forgotten about during the election. Had he been taking care of New Mexico citizens, instead of trying to feather his own nest, it would not have taken our citizens more than a week to count the votes. He is a no good Governor, as he is a no good friend to anyone. He not only betrayed the Clinton's for all the years of friendship, but betrayed our state. We who need to have the confidence of our Governor, how can anyone trust him?
Bill Clinton needs to get over HIMSELF. He thinks everyone needs to bow down to him like he is some God. Bill Richardson has ever right to support who he wants.
So one of the Bill's must be lying. Hmmm...remind me again which one is the one how got disbarred for lying under oath?
Hillary says that the Richardson endorsement wasn't important.

I don't know if Richardson can be compared to Judas, but one thing's for sure: The clintons desperately wanted his endorsement.
Now that they didn't get the endorsement, it tells them that even their closest supporters are jumping ship.

I do believe that Richardson and others who were Clinton supporters are turncoats, opportunists, and spineless. What happens if McCain beats Obama in the general election? All of these relationships will be damaged forever because of this disloyalty, jumpship mentality. If I were the Clintons, I would defect from the party and become Independents. They would have more power and could leave those turncoats behind.

If you are in doubt about what Richardson is really all about, just ask any New Mexican about what a self-serving cockroach he is. You don't know this man at all, regardless of his connections with the Clintons. He is at war with the New Mexico elected officials working in Santa Fe. New Mexico is rated 3rd highest state with most crime. Prisons are over crowded. Kids school grades are terrible.....and the list goes on. In the mean-time, he is out negociating releases of captured people in Colombia or somewhere. He is just on an ego trip for the media as a "wanna be savior".....guess he gets a high off of this because at working for the people of his state, he flunks.
So...it should not be news to us that the Clinton's are AGAIN lying!

I thought this was a fair election. I didn't think the Clinton's should put any pressure on anyone to support them. They don't have any right to think that America owe them any votes just because Bill Clinton was our President. They both have proven that they are bullys who will stretch the truth.
Good for your Governor Richardson. You made the right decision endorsing Senator Obama. As a woman I would love to see a woman become President – what a great role model for my daughter and other young women in America, however Hillary Clinton does not fit the bill. Oops, no pun intended.

Richardson is so annoying. He would have played to either leading candidate. He is ONLY chasing is own political aspirations and kissing BoHacks butt. If we knew all we know now about Obama and his circle of friends, we wouldn't be bowling for delegates literally. Superdelegates need to sit down and shut up. Let democracy play out naturally, and quit playing poker with the fait of this coutry.

Obama did not specifically contact Bill Richardson......he was just one of the many superdelegates Obama was trying to get to back him. Richardson is trying to make it look like he had a special talent or place with Obama. I think Obama is just using BR to get to the latino vote....a mistake on his part as I don't feel BR has much influence there overall.
This talk about the Clintons feeling entitled to the nomination was started by BR. I feel Bill Clinton's outrage at BR breaking his promise is genuine because I feel the anger and disbelief.

Clintons and their supporters, dirty people. Call people mean names when they don't agree with you. Obama is in the gutter when he bowls, the Clintons are in the gutter in everything they do.
The Clinton's obviously feel that they are "owed" an endorsement for political favors. He did get appointments, but he did a fine job for our country. When it all comes down to it, Richardson is an American citizen just like the rest of us and he doesn't "owe" his vote to any man or woman. Last time I checked, no one owns the right of another to express his opinions in the politcal arena.
The anger of Bill Clinton shows just how deeply they have come to benefit from political cronyism. At least the Clintons don't have the hypocrisy to pretend that they still believe that each person should have the right to express opinions by casting a vote!

1. Like Richardson, endorse Obama and say "nasty" words to Clinton;
2. Stay quiet until someone wins the nominatioin;
3. Endorse Clinton.
