Air-America suspends radio host for Clinton comment
[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/04/04/art.rhodes.gi.jpg caption="Rhodes has been suspended."](CNN) - The liberal radio network Air America suspended one if its most popular radio talk show hosts Thursday after a video clip surfaced on the Internet in which she used derogatory language to describe Hillary Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro.
The comments came during a San Francisco appearance in late march sponsored by a local Air America affiliate. During the event, Randi Rhodes referred to both Clinton and Ferraro as "f-ing whores."
Video of the comments surfaced earlier this week. Air America issued a statement Thursday saying it had suspended Rhodes for "abusive language."
"Air America encourages strong opinions about public affairs, but does not condone such abusive, ad hominem language by our hosts," the statement said.
Speaking with the liberal Web site Huffingtonpost.com, Rhodes said she is upset with the radio network.
"They are in breach of my contract and have damaged my hard won excellent reputation in the broadcast industry..." she said. Rhodes also said she had originally received praise from representatives of the network for her appearance at the event.

Aplogize or else you will cause Hillary or Barak to lose a winnable election. Win Hillary and stay strong no matter what the media or polls say...there are more people behind you then what is reported.
This is the kind of thing that makes me hate democrats. We seem to turn against our own so easily. That is why the Republicans have been so successful over the past few years bc democrats will turn against their own. It is as disqusting as a mother that hurts her child. As much as some of you hate the Clinton's do we really think that they are as bad as the Republicans? NO!!! This is a competition and let's just let them compete and whomever wins lets support. We will need the Clinton's big time to win this election. Let's stop being traitor's!!!

Young lady your reputation was shot when you opened your mouth and used such language. If you need to use that kind of language then your message is weak and you only look stupid. Go back to school, try spending more time with educated people and try again.
Rhodes, you are an absolute moron...I have no fondness for Clinton or Ferraro but you have no right whatsoever to say what you did...And now you are upset you are suspended???...Without a doubt, you should be fired...(Imus comes to mind)...At the very least, you should be sued but I'm sure neither one of these women would think you worth it.
She should be suspended for not chosing some other words with the same meaning to describe HRC. She was saying loudly what a majority of people think but she forgot she was the host.
She did not make these comments on the air... I fail to see why she was suspended. Unless of course Air America has become the corporate outlet for voices they should return her to the air right away. Part of what makes this country great is that you can say things about public figures that others may not agree with and still not be persecuted... At least I thought so.....
I listen to Air America regularly and am a fervent supporter of the Democratic pary but this incident with Randi Rhodes is a total letdown with regards to us proporting to not be like the lunatic fringe of the Republican party. C'mon Randi, do you want to be known as the Ann Coulter of the Democratic party? Apologize and remember what you are supposed to be standing for.

This is a screenshot of THE “sold-out” event at which Randi Rhodes uttered those disgusting remarks. It was an event SANCTIONED by the Obama campaign as a fundraiser. The event where the utterly disgraced Randi Rhodes, now suspended indefinitely from Air America Radio, uttered the vulgar and hostile remarks about Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton.
I hope you are back to work soon Randi. I miss you and your show.
