Clinton: NCAA result is 'my kind of outcome'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/04/04/art.candid.gi.jpg caption=" The race appears to be narrowing in Pennsylvania."] WASHINGTON (CNN) - Crossing paths with rival Barack Obama at a union event Tuesday morning, Hillary Clinton compared herself to the come-from-behind NCAA champion Kansas Jayhawks.

“A few of you were up late watching that game last night,” she told a gathering of the Communications Workers of America in Washington, D.C. “Great comeback, right? My kind of outcome.”

The Jayhawks tied the Memphis Tigers with just 2.1 seconds left to go in regulation before scoring an overtime victory Monday night.

She said that the union members knew what it was like to go up against big odds: “You know what it’s like to be told to go away, to quit. I know a little something about that too,” she said, to cheers from the crowd.

Both Democratic candidates, who got a warm reception from the labor corwd, were addressing a union audience Tuesday for the first time since Clinton’s chief strategist, Mark Penn, resigned amid controversy, after helping Colombian leaders push for a free trade agreement she opposed.

The New York senator focused most of her fire on John McCain as she looked to reassure them that she opposes a potential free trade pact with Colombia.

There can be "no trade deal with Colombia while violence against trade unionists continues," she said, adding that she would continue to push Congress to reject the deal.

Taking the stage after Clinton, Barack Obama - whose economic adviser Austan Goolsbee, grabbed headlines for allegedly assuring Canadian officials he was not as opposed to NAFTA as his campaign trail rhetoric suggested - also vowed to fight the deal, and pointed to a host of other trade agreements he had publicly criticized.

“What I refuse to accept is that we have to sign trade deals that put the interests of multinational corporations ahead of the interests of American workers. I refuse to accept that we should sign trade deals that lack enforceable labor and environmental standards,” said Obama.

The 700,000 member strong CWA is the largest remaining unclaimed labor prize, along with the United Auto Workers. The union decided last fall that it would not back a candidate during the Democratic primary process, although it freed its member unions to make their own endorsements.

I am simply perplexed with all this sarcasm she and her campaing dishes out (to the other parties) but can't take it herself. Why don't she stop it out before she loses all of her supporters?

You think she really watched the game?

    Here is the answer:
Did she really read the documents that lead to her vote to agree with Bush to go war with Iraq?

Answer is, NO she did NOT read the documents!!!

We need a leader that does not lie like Hillary did about Bosnia!!!

So PA will go for Clinton even though Barack is "outspending her
5-1." Ever wonder why Obama has been able to raise more money? not had such high turnover within his staff? not gone into huge debt? has the tightest organziation of the three candidates concerning his campaign manamgement? Yeah, he's all talk (insert sarcasm!), thats why his campaign runs circles around the others.

Even if somehow she manage to get the nomination (which I seriously doubt) she will not win the presidency. So, anybody but McCain keep feeding false hope into all these Clinton flunkies on here. If she is the nominee, I gaurantee it will be McCain for president.

Jan....FYI: Hillary is also a "junior" senator. Please learn what the term means.

The Clinton campaign is quite adept at changing their whole world view – now Hillary is the "underdog". From Queen-select to underdog in just 3 months – amazing!

One special interest group against another – no unity in the dem party, only blood. Go for it guys!

Except that Kansas didn't have to cheat to win. They got their points fair and square. Now, if they got points that were actually scored by Memphis because those points weren't actually 'pledged', or if they were able to buy their points, or if they got more points for baskets because they felt as though their shots were more important–then of course Hillary is just like them...

I think CNN should find a better picture of Sen. Clinton, and discard the "Bitter Beer Face" photo they're going with now. It's just not appealing.

Mark Penn isn’t the only Hillary Rodham Clinton supporter on the wrong side of the Colombia trade agreement.

The Democratic-leaning advocacy firm the Glover Park Group, former home to Clinton campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson, signed a $40,000 per month contract with the government of Colombia in April of 2007 to promote the very agreement that Clinton now rails against on the presidential campaign trail.

First, she identified with the New York Giants, now the Kansas Jayhawks. Next comes the NHL and NBA playoffs, so I'm sure she'll be making a weak comparison to the champions of those leagues as well when the time comes.

Right now, her supporters want to brag about how she is doing better in Pennsylvania despite being outspent there (by ever increasing ratios according to those supporters). What they don't want you to pay attention to is how little support she is actually getting. Make no mistake, she would match Obama dollar-for-dollar if she had the money. She'd love to. After having a 20 point lead (what a month, 2 months ago?), her lead is down to five or six points in Pennsylvania.

I don't believe for a second that Penn would have resigned from Clinton's team if he hadn't been caught. Everyone likes to point out perceived deficiencies in the people Obama surrounds himself, but they then neglect to take Clinton to task for her advisors.

Hey, the Ohio story is true. Just not at that hospital. The sheriff, not Hillary, got the facts mixed up.

Hey, it wasn't even a real bowling ball, watch the show. Just goes to show she is a great sport!

Pa. voters, beware, he is saying what he thinks you want to hear. Has he told you yet he is all for your right to own a gun? NOT TRUE, check out his stance on that. Obama insults the intelligence of the american people on a daily basis and there are some who swallow it whole; hook, line and sinker.

This is what makes her look bad. She is truly destroying the “Clinton” legacy. Cheap remarks like this will not get her any additional votes. Who in their right mind would vote for her because she compared her self to Kansas? This woman is sick you guys. She really needs help.

Secondly, in her speak in Montana she stated she is glad they are making the decision. She also stated their vote would be very important. Isn’t her camp who is always saying the small states don’t matter?

This woman and her camp have done nothing but constantly talk out the side of their necks. They will say anything to give her what appears to be an advantage. The Democrats and super-delegates need to bring this to an end soon before they hurt the presumptive nominee, Barack Obama!!!

I honestly feel she is doing this because she doesn’t want him to win in November. This is not about America for her, this is about her and Bill. She would rather Barack lose, because he has beat her for the nomination.

As a Republican, I am glad to be an “Obamacan”. He will get us back on track for the next 8 years.

Hillary this isnt a game or sporting even nor is it a movie or whatever else you plan to compare it to. Lets see just recently you have been a bowler and Rocky and Paulette Revere. You have dodged sniper fire and now you are dodging the realization that you can not mathmatically win this election, at best you can steal the nomination.
This does not mean that you will win in the general. Currently you are just trying to destroy the democratic party and millions of youths that for once in their lifetime are excited you are destroying thier dreams and a better future. Shame on you Hilary!

I was leaning Hillary but not anymore. I think funding for breast cancer research is great but she made no such suggestion for prostate cancer with men, which is a major medical issue for men wit recommended screenings just as wit breast cancer. This makes me think she is a sexist and more about women than all of the people.

CNN is Protecting Hillary Clinton with lies coverup:

When the Rev. William Procanick put his hand on the Bible during his sex-abuse trial in Oneida County Court earlier this year, he swore to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

But as the former Clinton pastor was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for inappropriately touching a 7-year-old girl at his home last March, Judge Michael L. Dwyer said Procanick sacrificed his honesty the day he testified.

“As A jury found Procanick guilty Jan. 22 of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
