(CNN)— General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker painted a sobering picture of the U.S. strategy in Iraq Tuesday, under questioning from the next president. All three presidential candidates took part in Iraq war hearings on Capitol Hill, offering some tough criticism of the current strategy in Iraq, and of each other. In the latest installment of CNN=Politics Daily, Senior Political Correspondent Candy Crowley reports on Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama’s reactions, while Dana Bash covers John McCain.
As foreign policy once again took center stage, controversy still loomed over the campaign trail regarding Barack Obama’s claims of having better credentials on that front than either Clinton or McCain.
