Obama: I'd take a vow of silence if I could

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/04/10/art.obama0409.ap.jpg caption="Obama said Thursday he’d lay off the speeches for a while if he could. "] LAFAYETTE, Indiana (CNN) - Democrat Barack Obama told an Indiana audience Thursday afternoon that he doesn't like hearing the sound of his own voice as much as some people might think.

After first mentioning that there was a time when presidential rival Hillary Clinton was "really hammering away" at him by saying he was more of a talker than a doer, the Illinois senator said, "She's not doing it as much now. I guess because it wasn't working."

But, said Obama, it's "not just because I like hearing myself talk."

"I promise you, after 15 months (on the trail so far) I would be happy to take a vow of silence and not say a word. I'd be happy just to sit in an office somewhere and solve all kinds of problems without ever having to give a speech."

Keep on talking and don't let your henchman do the dirty work for you. Stop playing the bad cop good cop routine. It is getting old.
What are your plans for my country. That is what I want to know., before I give you the keys to the Whitehouse.

There just so many "inspiring speeches" you can listen to. The euphoria will soon wear out and people will start seeing Obama for who he really is. He will implode on his own. Get real, Obamamaniacs- would you have attended Pastor Wright's church for 20 years??? If you were honest, you would admit you would NOT. But you choose to look the other way. Yes, Hillary will stay in the race until the end, in spite of media, and Obama supporters demanding that she quit now. Of course they want her to quit, as they know she can win when the truth about Obama comes out. GO HILLARY!!!

Anna, I totally agree with you. The Gallup poll shows Obama is 50% ahead of Clinton who is at 42% for today. Hillary supports are not ready the information correctly or they're just don't want to acknowledge the fact that Obama is ahead. Look Hillary supporters its a done deal. Obama is going to be the nominee, period. Just pack it up and let's join forces to beat McCain. Maybe 2012 will be Hillary's year. O.k. Let's stop the fighting against each other and become real democrats to go after McCain.

Obamaniacs need to take the blinkers off and start learning the truth about their "messiah". Let's face it, Obama gives empty speeches and his supporters don't know why they are supporting him. Is this how we are going to elect our next president? want the U tube generation to choose our next president? think they've done their homework? of course not, they're just infatuated him him. That's all. This is scary. But Hillary is strong and will hang in 'till the end – and WIN, once the Obamamania wave crashes.

  14. IN for Obama, because McCain might not remember

    Wow, Can Hillary say this

    Barack Obama's Record

Housing: In the U.S. Senate, Obama introduced the STOP FRAUD Act to increase penalties for mortgage fraud and provide more protections for low-income homebuyers, well before the current subprime crisis began.

Predatory Lending: In the Illinois State Senate, Obama called attention to predatory lending issues. Obama sponsored legislation to combat predatory payday loans, and he also was credited with lobbying the state to more closely regulate some of the most egregious predatory lending practices.

American Jobs: Barack Obama introduced the Patriot Employer Act of 2007 to provide a tax credit to companies that maintain or increase the number of full-time workers in America relative to those outside the US; maintain their corporate headquarters in America; pay decent wages; prepare workers for retirement; provide health insurance; and support employees who serve in the military.

Another thing people don't understand is that when he speaks, it is with sincerity and purpose, that's what separtes him from Clinton and McCain. Please America, grow up and vote this inspiring man in!

This is especially for Sen. Obama Supporters. Please read the previous ticker McCain raises fundraisers.

Hillary Clinton's billionaire friends are zeroing in on Sen. McCain, but they are very specific, this is not their only focus!!!!!!!!!!!1

I am positive most of these billionaires $ will be aimed at Sen. Obama. Please donate as much as possible, because this does not sound good!! Check it out for yourself! I am not even going to hazard a guess as to who this billionaire group could be. You guys will have to follow it up yourselves.

    GOOD LUCK!!!

Hey Jeff Spangler, if you don't know where Obama stands on the issues you have no one but yourself to blame. In addition to his speeches, most of which are available on YouTube, there's barackobama.com/issues. He discusses issues the other candidates haven't even started to think about.

That you are having to be strung out alludes to the fact that you aren't super qualifird. Don't let your guard down. Stay the course. Even when you can smell the victory, don't stop campaigning. Your advantage as the underdog is trusting you forward.

America is being purge from within because of you. Never allow the commonality of you be exploited. It is not so easily defended.

Michael: Free Trade is not the evil agent you believe it to be, nor is NAFTA destroying this country. Everyone agrees that NAFTA needs a lot of reparations, but once the problems are worked out it will actually help our economy.
