Obama: I'd take a vow of silence if I could

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/04/10/art.obama0409.ap.jpg caption="Obama said Thursday he’d lay off the speeches for a while if he could. "] LAFAYETTE, Indiana (CNN) - Democrat Barack Obama told an Indiana audience Thursday afternoon that he doesn't like hearing the sound of his own voice as much as some people might think.

After first mentioning that there was a time when presidential rival Hillary Clinton was "really hammering away" at him by saying he was more of a talker than a doer, the Illinois senator said, "She's not doing it as much now. I guess because it wasn't working."

But, said Obama, it's "not just because I like hearing myself talk."

"I promise you, after 15 months (on the trail so far) I would be happy to take a vow of silence and not say a word. I'd be happy just to sit in an office somewhere and solve all kinds of problems without ever having to give a speech."

A vow of silence would be good, especially for the wife, Mrs Obama. That would make me so proud for my country, not to have to listen to her pious garbàge (better known as B.S.) from someone apparently thinking she was manor-born.

Sorry, Barack. When you're President, it will be your persuasive abilities that will unite and spur this country to change. It will be February, 2013 before you can begin your vow of silence.

Wow some of the people here don't know what they're talking about.

I guess Obama ISN'T allowed to respond to any groundless attacks (more of a talker??!?!? come on Hillary you can make up something more substantial than that) that Hillary Clinton throws at him. Those Clinton supporters out there are completely right. He'd better just shut up and take the attacks without saying anything, so that Clinton can attack him even more by saying he isn't strong enough to stand up for himself.

I'm going to be voting for the Democratic nominee even if its Clinton, but some of the Clinton supporters out there really disturb me. You really should stop being so selfish and prepare to vote for the Democrat, who is almost certainly at this point going to be Obama. Don't be a bunch of sore losers!

I should have said February, 2017, because I'm sure you'll be elected to a second term.

Has anyone been watching "John Adams"? There was a lot of talking and pesuading going on to form our system of government. There is nothing wrong with talking to express ideas. How else are we to communicate Ideas about and solutions for our problems?

Talking about ideas is a lot better than demonizing everything about the candidate you don't support.

Obama is an empty Suit. He has no substance. He is an egomaniac. All He ever talks about is Himself. He and His Wife should go back to where They came from. Neither makes sense. If He gets in He will forget about the American People just like He did about the Black Forum in Louisiana and Martin Lutaher King's Birthday. His ego is as Big as George Bush's.

    Yeah Obama,

Do us all a big favor, and SHUT UP! Your so-called speeches are a big yawn, boring and self-serving just like yourself. How does anyone in his or her right mind think this man is inspiring? Yawnnnnn...zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Hillary as president would be a big change, real change as opposed to the make-believe change spouted by Obama for suckers. An Obama presidency would be a continuation of the good ole boys running ( ruining ?) our country, the lobbyists, press, corporate America, etc. Give a woman a chance to prove what she can do for all of us! Someone with many years of experience in the public arena, vote for the very best and most experienced candidate in the Democratic Party!

    Hillary 2008!

Obama, why don't you just take a vow of silence NOW? Please just shut up and quit acting so pompous, arrogant and self-conceited in front of the public! We are really sick of hearing you. We would like you better if you could just shut up and do something real for our American people. YOU LIAR!

    Obama.
People just like to hate on you, they try everything they can but you still standing. Like a Rock... I just hope people start seeing you for who you are and not what other say or what your friends might believe in.
Clinton is fake. She's just a politician, she says whatever just to win.

I just hope blacks and whites realize that we are one, some of us do have the same struggle and I don't think we will every get another President like Obama, down to earth.

    Obama 08.
PS. don't get quiet now!. thats what they want you to do. if it wasn't for those speeches I wouldn't be writing this message.
That's if it gets posted 🙂

She says she is against free trade and yet her campaign mgr. is negotiating deals with Columbia and Bill is making a ton in speeches for free trade with them.....Hilary and Bill politics as usual, status quo...Where is the change? No more Bushes and Cllintons....PLEASE....

It's not hearing him talk that bothers us....it's the constant lies that come out of his mouth when he does.

    " I didn't hear any controversial statements".....wait a minute "I did hear controversial statemetns"

"The only dealings I had with Rezko were 5-6 hours worth of work"

"Oh the earmarks...yes they were already released"....wrong...he didn' release them until several weeks later.

Lets not forget the Energy Bill, the Immigration Bill...Exelon, Nevada, etc....it just goes on and on like the energizer bunny.

Unfortunately the media likes to hide his blunders.

  22. No Billary you can't!

Billary supporters are hilarious....they are still bringing up the Wright issue...Notice Obama supporters don't bring up Ferraro anymore. Maybe because we all know Billary constantly puts her foot in her mouth and that there is a new controversy everyday.

Its quite comical when her supporters cry because she is losing and that they "threaten" to vote McCain if they dont get their way.

If that is the case then this is what they would like see happen...

    1. "Most" Clinton supporters are for the war in Iraq if they vote for McCain. A war that costs billions of dollars of taxpayers money each year.

    2. "Most" Clinton supporters love to have their homes foreclosed on if they vote for McCain.

    3. "Most" Clinton supporters love the scandals made by Bill and Hillary. (yet they have the nerve to call Obama dirty.)

    4. "Most" Billary supporters call African Americans racist because most would rather vote for Obama. Billary makes racists comments about blacks and expects them to vote for her in the end. Its not going to happen.

With that being said Billary supporters are actually the problem not McCain....So if their house gets forclosed on or one of their loved ones gets sent to Iraq, they have no right to cry and complain at all.

It doesn't make sense to me and their should have their voting rights revoke for being childish and ignorant. I guess the data is correct when college educated people tend to vote for Obama and the less fortunate want a

Typical of the Hillary supporters to have negative comments like these. That is why Barack is going to win the presidential election. He's not about fighting nor about pointing fingers, he's about unity, love, and hope. And if you have ever been on his website, you'd know that in his blue print that has been out for a long time, he states EVRYTHING and how he will do it. Typical of Hillary supporters to be ignorant and talk when they dont know the actual facts.

dale in indiana have you heard sillary talk lately? if you listen closely you can actually hear the imaginary sniper fire as she runs from her plane to the car with chelsea, sinbad and sheryl crow in tow as she bobs and weaves the sniper fire and stops bill from supporting nafta and the columbian free trade...all the obama haters out there are so wack...the hillary supporters are so tired....i couldn't vote for this woman if she was the only candidate on the ticket...how about hillary learn how to manage a campaign first...keep her staff from tearing each other apart, raise some money, get young folks involved and then let's talk...oh way...that's what obama did so no need to support the silly season aka bill and hill

If a president is going to be honest and truthful, he/she might as well be a priest. Truth and honesty are not qualities of a politician. In politics, you cannot be nice or you'll finish last. Politics is the kind of game where you have to fight for every last piece. Obama says he is going to be honest. I say NAY. If i want to hear and truth and honesty, I might as well listen to a priest or a pastor. All I hear from Obama's speeches is I will do this, will do that, will, will, will. He has never once mentioned that I have done something. Also Why would anybody want a president who's mentor hates Americans? I know I wouldn't.
