Clinton: 'Not relevant' last time I went to church, fired gun

Watch a clip of Sen. Clinton's Sunday press conference.

SCRANTON, Pennsylvania (CNN) – After a weekend spent making direct appeals to gun owners and church goers, Hillary Clinton said Sunday a query about the last time she fired a gun or attended church services "is not a relevant question in this debate” over Barack Obama’s recent comments on small town Americans.

“We can answer that some other time,” Clinton said at a press conference held in a working class neighborhood here. “This is about what people feel is being said about them. I went to church on Easter. I mean, so?”

Clinton described the furor surrounding Obama’s remarks as “about how people look at the Democratic Party and the Democratic Party leadership.”

“We have been working very hard to make it clear that we have millions of Democrats who are church going and gun-owning,” she said. “And we are tired of having Republicans, or frankly our own Democrats, give any ammunition to Republicans because what happens then is Republicans take advantage of the situation.”

She called the current imbroglio “an important moment for Democrats” and challenged Obama to further explain what he meant by his comments, which she reiterated were “elitist and divisive.”

Pressed on whether she truly believes Obama is an elitist, Clinton called him “a good man,” but recalled the narratives of the 2000 and 2004 president election.

“You don’t have to think back too far to remember that good men running for president were viewed as being elitist and out of touch with the values and lives of millions of Americans,” she said.

She cannot even answer a direct simple question! This woman is preposterous!. Please look at anderson coopers 360 and read the Carl bernstein article. It is quite eye opening. She still flips flops on everything and is still counting the number of angels on top of a pin. A vote for her is a vote for politics as usual!

For Hillary it's always ANOTHER PLACE, ANOTHER TIME!! She probably has a hang-over from her "Night in Indiana – Bellying up to the Bar"!! What an example to set for the American people!! What a video!! WHAT A DISGRACE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!!! I sincerely hope that BARACK OBAMA WILL GO AFTER HER TONIGHT about going to church, using guns, Bosnia, NAFTA, and Penn!!! Her campaign started such a fury about his church and what is the old saying - What's good for the goose is also good for the gander!! Bottom line is, no matter WHAT she says or does in these last few weeks of primary elections - SHE IS ON HER WAY OUT!!

Obama is the only candidate left who did not grow up privileged. He is the only candidate running who has lived among the world's poorest people. He is the only candidate who grew up poor, and worked directly with marginalized communities and stood up for their interests. Obama's comments, when examined in their entirety, in fact show a great deal of empathy for rural Americans, and reflect what voters have been telling him as he interacts with people in these economically distressed communities. The fact that Clinton and McCain, and their supporters, just like Bush did before them, have taken his remarks out of context, and spun them in the worst possible way, is truly sickening and frightening. It also amazes me that Obama has not used this controversy as a rallying cry to change the way we do politics in the United States. There is no way that I will vote for either Clinton or McCain in the general election. They are both no different from Bushco. Please print this CNN!

Not relevant? give me a break. Hillary is insisting in how relevant this issue is.... but when it comes the time for her to give some answers she does the same old political trick of not answering the question.

She is so full of it...

This lady is nuts and needs to go.
How can anyone buy this stuff she is trying to sell?
If she wins the nomination, I will be ashamed of America.
She is the most manipulative person out there in politics right now (other than our own current President).

As a white woman around the same age as Clinton, I say SHAME ON YOU!! What an absolutely ridiculous point to debate and even more ridiculous to call Obama "elite". We both know we never have faced the difficulties Obama has faced on the way up the ladder and you know, as well as I, we never will, so I don't think I'd call him one of the elite rather one of the successes of America. Do you think asking Obama to explain what he means by the word bitter will deflect attention from all the lies you have told throughout this campaign? I surely hope not. Talk issues not language interpretations. Put to rest the silly politics time please.

If you went to Church or paid attention to the message during your yearly visit you would know that Obama's message was scripturally correct..

    James 2:5-6

5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
6 But ye have despised the poor . Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?

This is not about Hillary. This is about the man cnn loves so much and his big mouth. Its evident that Obama will say and do anything to receive big bucks from his elite friends. This time his ignorance about small town, hard working people will cost him the nomination.

Isn't it just like the Clinton's to parse words. Do you remember "It depends on what the definition of is, is?" I want a presidnet who doesn't have to parse all the words. It would be more productive for Hillary talk about her policies rather than choose which one of Barack's words she wants pervert the meaning of for the sake of fireworks. I guess she is short on content to talk about.

This woman digs herself deeper and deeper into that hole.

    1) Obama doesn't need to issue any further explanation. His original comments were clear and concise – and more importantly, true. Spin it all you want, it's fact – kudos to him for having the guts to come straight out and say it.

    2) Could she be any more of a hypocrite? Can't even remember the last time she fired a gun or went to church? She's not an elitist with her $109 million over the last several years?

Another nine days and she's done...I can't even wait.

The end of HIllary is only the beginning of a beautiful 8 years with Barack Obama.
