The Boss backs Obama

(CNN) - Rocker Bruce Springsteen has endorsed Barack Obama for president.

“At the moment, critics have tried to diminish Senator Obama through the exaggeration of certain of his comments and relationships,” said the New Jersey native, in a statement posted on his Web site Wednesday. “While these matters are worthy of some discussion, they have been ripped out of the context and fabric of the man's life and vision… Over here on E Street, we're proud to support Obama for President.”

In February, Springsteen had resisted making a choice between Obama and Hillary Clinton, telling USA Today that "there are two really good Democratic candidates for president. I admire and respect them both enough to wait and see what happens."

But he praised Obama, who cited Springsteen as the person he would most like to meet in an interview with People magazine.

"I always look at my work as trying to measure the distance between American promise and American reality," he told the paper. "And I think (Obama's) inspired a lot of people with that idea: How do you make that distance shorter? …”

Springsteen backed Sen. John Kerry's unsuccessful 2004 presidential bid.

Better than Elton who is not even a citizen.
For all of you haters who say he is an elitist. Let me see, the other two candiates – Made $109 Million in the last 7 years. McCains's wife is worth $100 Million and Obama made a few millions from his book last year. hmmmm Get real.

It doesn't matter how many people endorse Obama. The people of Pennsylvania are too smart to be swayed by endorsements. They know the best candidate is Hillary Clinton and they will prove it to all these elitist on April 22nd. Go Hillary.

I won't buy your albums ever again Bruce...
"Barry" Obama is all foam no beer.
I'm also disappointed that Colbert gave his proud wife a free ride on his show.
All who support BHO are nuts and should all move to Berkeley, put on a fairy costume and dance in the streets chanting "yes we can" while high on weed.

How dare he...isn't this the same Bruce Springsteen who fired his union roadies and brought in scabs when he didn't want to pay union scale. He is not the working man's friend and neither is Obama. Conservatives like Obama because they know they can beat him in the general election. We know nothing about Obama, we may not all be in love with Hillary, but look what happened the last time we elected someone because we liked them on a personal level. Have we learned nothing from the current Resident? He was so down home and even though from Conn. souded so southern and normal. We ignored the mess he made as Texas gov. We ignored he is the only person ever to go bankrupt in the oil business. Wake up people!!!
