Clinton: Obama 'complaining' about debate

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/04/18/art.clintoncomplain.ap.jpg caption=" Clinton said Obama is complaining about Wednesday night's debate."]

PHILADELPHIA (CNN) - In her first comments about the Wednesday evening’s controversial debate, Hillary Clinton accused Barack Obama of “complaining” about the broadcast and hinted her rival might not be equipped to handle the rigors of the Oval Office.

“I know he spent all day yesterday complaining about the hard questions he was asked,” she told an interviewer Friday morning on WTXF in Philadelphia. “Being asked tough questions in a debate is nothing like the pressures you face inside the White House.”

In campaign stops in Pennsylvania and North Carolina yesterday, Obama criticized both his rival and the debate format, accusing the moderators of focusing on trivialities and saying Clinton was “in her element.”

Seeing an opening after what some pundits regarded as a poor performance by Obama, Clinton used the morning show interview to make the case for her own toughness and determination.

“When the going gets tough you can't run away,” she said of Obama.

Clinton said she had no problems with the debate, a face-off that some critics — and many Obama supporters — claimed was slanted against the Illinois senator.

“The special interests are going to be a lot tougher than 90 minutes of questions from two journalists,” she said, “and we need a president who is going to be up there fighting everyday for the American people and not complain about how much pressure there is, and how hard the questions are.”

I wonder if she will be able to defend herself with this article from the huffington post?....

"Quote" since leaving the White House, the former president, according to a review of his records, has earned $1.25 million for six speaking engagements from Chinese businesses and forums. Three of these events were hosted by a Hong Kong-based private investment firm, one by a private real estate company, another by a spirits manufacturer, and another by a group that facilitates business-leader dialogue. On several occasions, according to the Clinton Foundation website, Bill Clinton touted the benefits of an open economic relationship between American and China.

"Consider the global economy," Bill Clinton told China CLSA Ltc., the investment firm, in 2002. "I think the protesters against globalization are dead wrong when they say the global economy is the cause of the world's problems... The global economy has lifted more people out of poverty in the last 20 years than at any time in history."

OMG! Clinton complained everyday it seemed for months about the questions she received, being chosen first to answer, Obama being favored by the media, etc...we could go on and on.

Hillary really needs to give it a rest. Yes he was bothered by the stupid questions put to him because they had nothing to do with helping the American people. He could have went tit for tat with Hillary but chose to take the hire road. Hell, I don't wear a flag pin either, but that doesnt mean I don't love my country. That was stupid as was the other questions posed in the first 45 mins of the show.

Why doesn't she take time to fully answer the questions posed to her instead of laughing to cover the fact that SHE had no answer. I was a Clinton supporter but have long since move to Obama land.

    YES WE CAN!!!

    Obama supporters,

Obama needs to answer tough questions. If he cannot then he is not the best candidate for president.

Obama cannot answer tough questions and cannot make tough decisions.

    Obama should quit

She wants him to debate because she has no money left and needs the free air time. She complained about the debates before saying that she always got the tough questions blah blah blah and now she's complaining that 21 debates aren't enough, GO AWAY HILLARY. TIME TO WRITE YOUR NEXT BOOK.

It was Hillary who was complaining about the questions being asked to her first in a debate. The polls show that the debate changed nothing. The only looser is ABC.

Clinton needs to shot it down. Obama answered the questions and then showed he will not walla in the muck the two were trying to rake. I hope he just sticks to his plan and not get destracted. He should not have commented on the debate format. We all see how it went. Anything he says that is not part of his plan plays into the wishes of the witch.

Anybody in their right mind could see that Wednesday night's debate was a joke. Regardless of which candidate you're supportind. Why did both moderators spend almost fifty minutes on silly questions that have nothing to do with any real issues and that both candidates have answered over and over again? These were not tough questions that I care about. I just hope after all this is over with, we democrats can come together and take on McCain.

Hillary's never complained about a debate? Didn't she complain so much about the CNN debate that it became a skit on "Saturday Night Live," and then bring it up at the next debate as well? Ridiculous.

Obama's issue is not that the questions were tough...his issue is with their relevance. He can definitely handle tough questions...he just wants them to be relevant.

I noticed they didn't ask her about Mark Penn, her husband and the Columbians. And I do recall her and her husband whining about how biased the media is and that she always gets asked the first question.

Hillarys' definition of debate is a battle between husband and wife in a divorce court...she is totally out of line for a presidentship..please tell her to go back home and bake cookies..or with her views..to please become a divorce attorney...the last debate was pathetic...only focused on petty issues...nothing related to issues concerning the hard struck people of this nation...she was so focused on degrading Obama..it was killing to see that debate...she is beginning to make us sick in the stomach everytime she opens her mouth....we know nothing sensible will come out of her. anymore...please Mr dean...send her home

I feel that anyone who watched the debate should complain about the superficial questions for the first 45 minutes. The American people want to hear about the issues not "bashing."

Clinton gets mugged in almost every debate and Obama says "don't blame the refs." Obama gets some of the same and complains. Obama is the one who wanted judgement an issue. ABC makes the first 45 minutes about judgement and suddenly that is the wrong thing to do.

Obama = not ready for the general election

On day 1 of the campign the Clintons have complained and bashed the media for being too critical of them and now guess what-

Obama is attacked for saying the ABC debate had focused on gaffes and trivialites than substance.

When will people get it that the Clintons are not worthy of trust?

Ha! This from the "the media is being mean to me" candidate from a few months ago? Know what, Senator Clinton? A good president has to have a memory, too.

Ed Rendell, Clinton's chief campaigner in PA, expressed the same disappointment as Obama did about the "Gotcha" type questions asked in the first 45 minutes of ABC's debate. Obama has no problem handling pressure, he is just pointing out ,like Rendell , how hallow these over-asked questions are. Over 4,000 American lives dead and counting, over 60,000 wounded and counting. Many Americans, not just Obama supporters, were of the same opinion as Ed Rendell and Obama.

The debate was clearly an ambush for Barack, however, don't you think that as a fellow Dem candiate he can not go but so negative toward her, look at the past debates. He is trying to be respectful to her and that is why he wants to debate on issues. Clinton does not care she wants to win (bless her heart) Whatever, that man does if he says one wrong thing it is negative toward Clinton. And the media really wants this to keep going for their ratings not for the American issues. Please get it people. Some times you need to do your own research instead of listenin gentirely to what is said on TV.

  25. LT for Obama

I recall Hillary complaining the morning after a debate, "Shame on you, Barack Obama" over some mailers that told the ugly truth about her. After that, I really lost a lot of respect for her. She was angry and showed just how much she was scared and has been running scared every since then. Now she wants to "twist the knife" even more.

Yes, she is going to say he is complaining about the hard questions because she was not asked about any and she along with her friends, George and Charlie, came after Barack over and over again while all she had to answer to was sniper fire.

By the way, how come no one talks about the fact that she admitted to lying about Bosnia twice during the debate? An admitted liar in the white house? Think about it people.
