The popular vote debate

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.l.cnn.net/cnn/2008/POLITICS/04/24/campaign.wrap/art.clinton.vote.gi.jpg caption="If Michigan and Florida are counted, Sen. Hillary Clinton is ahead in the popular vote."] (CNN) - Sen. Hillary Clinton is arguing that she is ahead of rival Sen. Barack Obama when it comes to the popular vote.

"I'm very proud that as of today, I have received more votes by the people who have voted than anyone else," Clinton said Wednesday, one day after her decisive win in Pennsylvania.

Not so fast, says Obama's campaign. Clinton's count includes her wins in Michigan and Florida, but the Democratic presidential candidates agreed not to campaign in those states because they violated party rules by scheduling their contests too early.

One reason I support Clinton is that when she makes a statement,
I get what she is trying to say. When she states: So far, "I have RECEIVED more votes, etc. if counting Mi and Fl, blah, blah", that is exactily what I hear. She did NOT state: I am AHEAD in votes. She was CORRECT in the first statement. How can that be parsed any other way? If one is taking the implication that she's saying she's winning or ahead, they are making that because they disagree with her being ahead in the contest (and so do I.)
She wants people to know that she is a choice of the people, as much as Obama, if not a couple more.

She is making this claim because Obama is afraid to have a re-vote. But she is technically correct. Of all the people that voted, more people voted for her. I don't think there should be any deputes in Florida. Nobody campaigned. People voted. Period.

Michigan is another story and there should be a re-vote. But I don't get the argument Obama's team is making. That they were not even on the ballot.. Well it was his decision to remove his name from Michighan but not from Florida. He was playing politics. He was using the two states as a test. What would happen if there was no campaigning? and Florida was the control group...............

the dnc has to realize obama can't get the seniors, or blue collar votes. he can't win big states. he can't put 2 sentences together without ugh ugh in between his words without a teleprompter. after his disasterous debate performance americans see who the stronger candidate is. not to mention his domestic terrorist friends, and racist reverend. he will not beat mccain in november. hillary can, obama can't even win against hillary in the big states.

So now, when she find it to HER advantage, wants to dis-enfranchise Michigan's Obama voters. How are we expected to take anything she says seriously.....like she really means what she says? Not I.

I guess the sleep deprivation has finally made this woman delusional? She agreed to the rules before the race began and now since she doesn't like the impending outcome, insists on changing the rules.

Not the type of decision making or character you need in a president not to mention her allergic reaction to telling the truth.

    Get to the chopper!!!

Her Royal Clintoness tires easily, causing her to lie about her name, her daughter and 9/11, Bosnia sniper fire, Rose Law Firm files, opposing the pre-emptive war with Iraq before she voted for the bill, how she made a lot of money on Wall street, her brothers being paid to get pardons, opposing NAFTA, accepting "donations" greater than the legal limit from Peter Paul, …

Maybe she should quit now and take a nice, long vacation and get some rest.

Giver her a gift – time off!

First they both agree not to campaign in those states; now that she is behind all of a sudden she has become so concerned with those poor voters..................Billary politics at its best. Anything to try to get the nomination. She should be struck by lightning for even saying that. You cannot change the rules in the middle of the process just because it suits you. It is tactics like this that has driven a wedge between the supporters of both sides.....and the reason that McCain has a "VERY GOOD" chance of winning because contrary to what is said about the party coming together: "IF MY CANDIDATE LOSES....MCCAIN GETS MY VOTE". Many of us feel that way and will definitely carry that plan out.

D-E-S-P-E-R-A-T-E little cheat that she is. Imagaine that! Looks like the mutual attraction of lying and cheating between her and Slick Willy is intact. That seems to be the basis on which they breathe and operate. They deserve each other.

Spin spin spin. She doesn't have the popular vote, a) because she was on the only ballot in Michigan, and b) because Florida and Michigan don't count right now.

Lets the "pundits" argue who has the upperhand. She's trying to capitalize on trivialities to seem superior. It's that type of spinning, and distortion that turns people off.

For all of his faults (and everyone has them), Obama has never intentionally brought up race for gain, spun statistics that were lies, and destroyed the party for personal gain. He's trying to hang out, but she's throwing rocks at a man just trying to move forward.

Congrats Hillary on pulling ahead in the popular vote. Every day it becomes more and more clear you should be our nominee. We will lose with Obama and his loose cannons as the nominee. Keep fighting!

And I am the president of the US. Hillary continues to be delusional. Scary to think a presidential nominee is so out of touch with reality. Then again, this is the person who would be happy to "obliterate" Iran including all of the innocent women and children who reside there.

OK, so votes in FL and MI...2 big states don't count. Know what? Stupid caucus votes shouldn't count. That's why he is ahead. Here in TX , she won the popluar vote. Then, the few fanatics who can drive and stay up past midnight got to determine 1/3 of the total delegate votes ultimately alloting Obama more delegates that her.

So, bottom line. People who went to the polls said WE WANT HILLARY. That night using a system that is poorly understood by most he stole the votes.

She makes me so mad. She is turning this Florida and Michigan thing against Obama. She agreed to not count their votes in the beginning just like everyone else in the democratic party. Now that it is affecting her win, she spins it off like she really cares. Lets just make the rules to fit the Clintons. Wake up everyone. Hillary will do anything to get what she wants. Imagine what will happen if she is given the kind of power a president has. I'm Scared!!!!

She is trying to trick you in to voting for her.. we don't need 25yrs of Bush Clinton.. Too much.. that's not good.. time for Change and it's NOW
