WASHINGTON (CNN) –- President Bush will hold a Rose Garden press conference Tuesday morning to discuss the nation’s current economic situation and address “Americans’ understandable anxiety about issues affecting their pocketbooks,” White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said.

“He will also call upon Congress to send him sensible and effective bills that will help Americans weather this difficult period and keep our country moving forward,” said Perino, adding that Bush will urge the House and Senate to approve legislation to help ease energy prices, and address the mortgage crisis, rising food prices and student loans.

The news conference is scheduled to take place at 10:31 a.m. ET.

Yada, yada, yada. Blah, blah, blah.

This economy is broken since we have exported the good jobs. To make it worse, there are no more USA companies–they are global with no interest in the USA, save there bottom line. Bush and Congress cannot fix this without some seroious changes. They do not have the anatomy to do this.

From the USA industry to the USA citizen...SCREW YOU.

In the landmark civil fraud case against Bill Clinton in Los Angeles, where the former President is charged with defrauding a Hollywood dot com millionaire to help Hillary Clinton obtain more than $1.2 million from him for her 2000 Senate campaign, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aurelio Munoz ruled on Friday, April 25 that Hillary Clinton would not be required to testify in a sworn deposition as a material witness in the case until AFTER the November election!

Why wont CNN be fair… hillary clintons pastor just was charged with child molestion for touching a 7 year old girl her pastor name is Rev. William Procanick …. and why isnt cnn reporting the peter paul vs.. clinton case…. 17 million dollar law suit that they have aginst them…. in cally…..

It seems every time he opens his mouth it makes me want to shake him so that he wakes up from whatever dream world he is experiencing.

He can't even be consistent in his claims for the duration of a single press conference. Additional oil in the supply coming from drilling in ANWAR will cause gas prices to drop but additional oil in the supply from suspending strategic reserve purchases won't? It would be comical if it weren't so sad and there weren't millions of people swallowing it wholesale.

I guess people truely don't know that the president is just a puppet. Look who controls the houses. They could over throw him at any time they only want themselves to look good. Wait until we get a Democrat President. We really will be hurting.

lol xtina – 50 cents/gallon?? The federal gas tax is nowhere near that. Try 20 cents/gallon. Also try avoiding the potholes in the roads that start showing up, since that money is used for highway maintenance. In the end it will cost you more for car repairs from bad roads than it would in gas tax you save.

Can you believe this guy , after destroying the economy. Now he pretends to care. But in reality he can afford the gas prices , because we pay for it. We pay for his food and his traveling , and even for is clothes. This is by far the most insincere president ever to breathe air. Its republicans fault that we as normal people have to endure this mess of a government.

    xtina in chicago,

The Federal Gas Tax is nowhere near 50 cents! Try 18.4 Cents.
Buy 10 Gallons and you save a whopping $1.84. You could buy a box of Rice-a-Roni!!

Reality King you fail to mention that the approval rating of the Republican portion of Congress is even lower that than of the Democratic portion. Without a 60 vote majority the Democrats are
unable to overide a veto by Bush, but you knew that didn't you? Please go ahead and continue to polish this turd and call it a diamond.

    April 29, 2008 11:52 am at 11:52 am |

It is your fault that the economy is in the Shi_ _ y state it's in now. You need to give up your Oil money and Salary to the people of America to make up for the mess that you've put us in. You really should step down now! Before the new President gets in because I'm sure that you and your Administration will be brought up on Charges and you and them have a lot of charges to be brought up on.

I guess whenever one sees Bush, uneducated, stupid and idot should come up.

Did you hear him today..." We are fighting people who will strap a bomb to themselves and blow innocent people up" – idiot, didn't you know this before you went into Iraq... oh, I forgot you had never traveled outside of the US before becoming President and you do not like to read....

America, we need someone who is educated and can be level headed when dealing with situations. Barack Obama is that person////

    Obama '08 and '12

Get rid of Bush, McCain and Hillary or we will have the same thing we have always had.
