Easley on Clinton: She makes Rocky look like a 'pansy'

CNN

Watch Easley's comments Tuesday.

(CNN) - North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley formally endorsed Hillary Clinton's White House bid Tuesday, saying the New York senator "gets it."

"It's time for somebody to be in the White House who understands the challenges we face in this country," Easley said at a rally in Raleigh with Clinton at his side. "They are significant. I never ever thought the United States of America could get in as much trouble as we have over the last 7 or 8 years."

Easley, a popular two term governor who is unable to run for re-election because of term limits, also praised Clinton for her persistence.

"I've been accused of being persistent, and down right aggravating…but this lady right here makes Rocky Balboa look like a pansy," Easley said.

The endorsement gives the New York senator a symbolic boost in the state she is trailing Barack Obama by double digits. Easley is particularly popular with white, working class voters - a constituency that has favored Clinton in other primary states. He is the second superdelegate from North Carolina to back Clinton. Six North Carolina superdelegates have endorsed Obama.

Easley is a former backer of John Edwards' White House bid.

A recent ARG poll shows Obama leading Clinton by 10 points in the state.

People are wising up. Watch out Obama, our Hillary is going to send you back to Chicago where they'll probably send you back to the private sector with Carl Rove. You make a better republican than a democrat anyway.

Thank God for Governor Easley. He is one above the other dumb,
ignorant legislators who are supporting obama because of the black votes. Now, come on John & Elizabeth Edwards we need your endorsement.

What CNN did not report in this post (as others have) that North Carolina has not had any recent polls and that double digit Obama has may no longer be in effect – Along with the national polls.

More and more are beginning to understand that Obama is a tarnished and unelectable candidate.

Unfortunately lying, cheating, and bad mouthing someone does work if you want to look strong and in control; and this loser bought into it. Hillary is a loser and will always be one in my eyes. Obama continuously takes the higher road, and in the end that is what will win the White House this time around. Change is coming, and its name is Barak Obama.

No, she makes the devil look like a pansy. Considering that she will probably join him, I guess that's a good thing.

    I hate her.

Why won't you debate OBAMA? Can't take the pressure. Don't want you in the White House.

if there is a divide in the democratic party, it is not the fault of the candidates – it is the fault of the media. Where is the will to expose the government that existed when Nixon was exposed? Where is that courage? The Clintons have pulled so much crap when bill was president – enough to land them in prision (or at least i would be in prision, if i had done it). Why do so few people of this country know about it? Why do we know so much about Obama's pastor, and nothing about what the Clinton's did to Jamaica (for example)?

The divide is there because the media has allowed everyone to think that Clinton should be a contender – thus, by popular (oblivious) vote, she is.

Idiot! He must support Hillary's "do anything to win" behavior. I can't believe people think that type of behavior is a "fighter". How is strong-arming, a.k.a. stealing an election a "fighter"? She's no different than what Bush did to Gore?
However, when it's all said and done and the smokes clears, she will still loose.

Thank you Easley, for reconizing a good candidate when you see and hear one. I hope all the other delegates will get on the wagon and support Hillary. I can't wait for her to get into the White House it won't be soon enough for this country.
You are already a winner in most people's eye's

Although I don't agree with who he endorsed. At least he showed some leadership. Come on superdupers get off the fence. Take a position especially those in states that already voted.

This wasn't a big deal. Not that many people was there. This was just to score some political points in the media for Hillary. While she's getting endorse her husband is doing the campaigning for her. It's at these times that Bill Clinton starts messing up again.

Hillary Clinton keeps proving herself to be a humongous pain in the butt! She and George Bush both share the same problem of not knowing the difference between truth and their own narcissistic beliefs.
What's wrong with those superdelegates - surely they can see what a jerk she is turning out to be. It's time they endorse someone who knows is familiar with truth and honesty is for a change. What a concept.

    This is for Greg:

Obama is the smartest and most exciting democrat we have had for years. He HAS won against incredible odds. As for the Hillary supporters and those who are crying for him to get out of the race, Hillary SHOULD HAVE HAD THE NOMINATION BY FEB. 5, BUT She couldn't do it. That says something incredibly loud about Hillary's leadership.
President Obama on January 20, 2009!

Lets make good sense of this endorsement. A term limit governor who has his eyes either on the Senate or Appointed position backs Sen. Clinton. We are surprised why? This is typical politics. The Lt. Gov. supports Obama.

You got to be kidding, right? What proof does the North Carolina governor have that Billary is tough other than the fact that she cusses like a sailor. Also, she doesn't have a pastor and goes to church only for votes.
