Easley on Clinton: She makes Rocky look like a 'pansy'

CNN

Watch Easley's comments Tuesday.

(CNN) - North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley formally endorsed Hillary Clinton's White House bid Tuesday, saying the New York senator "gets it."

"It's time for somebody to be in the White House who understands the challenges we face in this country," Easley said at a rally in Raleigh with Clinton at his side. "They are significant. I never ever thought the United States of America could get in as much trouble as we have over the last 7 or 8 years."

Easley, a popular two term governor who is unable to run for re-election because of term limits, also praised Clinton for her persistence.

"I've been accused of being persistent, and down right aggravating…but this lady right here makes Rocky Balboa look like a pansy," Easley said.

The endorsement gives the New York senator a symbolic boost in the state she is trailing Barack Obama by double digits. Easley is particularly popular with white, working class voters - a constituency that has favored Clinton in other primary states. He is the second superdelegate from North Carolina to back Clinton. Six North Carolina superdelegates have endorsed Obama.

Easley is a former backer of John Edwards' White House bid.

A recent ARG poll shows Obama leading Clinton by 10 points in the state.

I think Democrats need to seriously consider a ticket of Clinton and Obama ....together...this
might be a good way to overcome the devisiveness that seems so persistent now...and give the ticket a "double whammy" .

I HOPE THE SUPER DELEGATES LOOK LONG AND HARD BEFORE CASTING THEIR VOTES – IF CLINTON IS NOT THE NOMINEE I BET THEIR WILL BE A REP IN THE WHITE HOUSE AGAIN – OBAMA IS A LOT OF TALK AND NOTHING MORE – HE HAS A BIG EGO AND NOT MUCH SUBSTANCE – I WOULD NOT VOTE FOR HIM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES – SO SUPER DELEGATES PLEASE CONSIDER VERY CAREFULLY THE OPTIONS BEFORE MAKING A CHOICE – VOTE WITH YOUR HEAD AND NOT YOUR HEART.

Makes Rocky look like a pansy? Will the same Dems who jumped on Schwarzenegger for using the term 'girlie men' and accused him of being homophobic jump on Gov. Easley now?

What a pointless endorsement. She will still lose the state by a bigger margin than Obama lost in Pennsylvania. She would rather be endorsed by someone who matters in North Carolina, like Ric Flair, Michael Jordan, or Dale Jr. LOL

Clinton gets another big endorsement. While endorsements don't always mean much of anything, I think this one will go a long way to increasing her appealability to the voters of NC. Hillary's the only one who can fix this country anyway, so he jumped on the right ship!!

Well at least someone is awake.

Hopefully NC will wake up like Pennsylvania did and she can cut the lead.

BTW, we haven't seen a recent poll in NC.

    YES SHE WILL!

Clinton has no chance of winning unless she uses corrupt Delegates to stael the nomination and promise them cash donations and jobs in the white house. That means your vote did not count at all.

The Governor backing her has been promised a job in the white house, that you can bank on.

    They are crooks.

Will Bill be able to keep his pants on in the whitehouse.

    He did'nt as President

The best endorsement that Hillary has gotten is Rev. Wright's endorsement of Obama. Every time that man opens his mouth he drives voters who aren't members of the "black church" from Obama to Clinton.

Not only does Hillary get the nod form North Carolina's governor, she also has received the endorsement of radio host Howard Stern!

Let's elect someone with a bit more credibility than another Clinton.

Fifty year old college educated white Texan for Obama.

    This is HILARIOUS!!!

Rocky was smart but he was a good guy. He had heart.
Hillary is an intellegent ruthless bull dog who doesn't give a second thought to the people she hurts whether they've helped her or not. She has no ethics. Just ask Peter Paul...

Is Hillary the only candidate who understands the "challenges" we face? Is that the best answer he could give. Now I know it's not about choosing the best candidate for the job, but what's in it for me, right Easley?

Yes, she truly is a fighter. The type of fighter that would start more wars and easily trigger nuke standoffs. Yes, we definitely need her after 8 years of bush fighting.
