Obama shoots, but doesn't score

Watch Obama play basketball with some UNC players.

(CNN) - Barack Obama is known for his strong basketball skills, but the Illinois senator proved no match for the UNC Tar Heels Tuesday.

Obama practiced with the team for several minutes Tuesday morning, often struggling to keep pace with the Final Four-team and failing to sink a basket - at least when the cameras were turned on.

“These guys are a lot better than me,” Obama said as he was running down the full length of the court and trying to keep pace with the Division I players, including Tyler Hansbrough, the national player of the year.

At one point, Coach Roy Williams scolded his players for not guarding the presidential candidate.

“You guys are leaving the next president of the United States wide open,” Williams joked.

Obama took a couple of shots, but neither fell through. His campaign says he did make a three-pointer after reporters were escorted off the court.

You boys at CNN at fixated with Obama and basketball! Enough already! Why does playing basketball make on qualified to be President? Why don't you cover something more substantial, like his views on critical issues and his solutions to the numerous problems are nation is facing. I can't recall even one CNN piece where they looked at his stand on Iraq or the economy with any depth. A reporter's job is to get candidates to answer complex and tough questions, not coo as he/she yucks it up for the cameras.

First they called us Wal-Mart democrats.

Instead of peeling away the college educated, high income Hillary supporters, we saw through the hype of hope propaganda.

We strongly united behind Hillary, the champion of ALL democrats.

We stood in solidarity behind ALL democrats regardless of race, ethnicity, income, age, geography, gender or creed.

The strategy of hate while preaching unity will not fool nor win over voters.

Ya'll know white men can't jump, Obama can only half-jump
You guys quit picking on my man, Obama. We is going to the white house, where for the first time a black woman can legally sleep there. What kind of comment is that? I'm sorry, I'm such a racist. I just think with the right side of my brain? I walk to the beat of a different drummer? I'm not disfunctional, I'm just different. I am black and you white people owe me for all my suffering.

How is this news? Obama missed a couple shots on the basketball court? Are you serious? He's running for president, not the NBA.

McCain recently argued that we throw Russia out of G8. Why don't you report on that?

hey, that first move to the basket wasn't half bad but I am surprised he made it out in one piece when he was on the court with Tyler.

  14. McHillary

Hey CNN, why don't you do a story on OBAMA's LEAD and the FACT that Hillary will have to win the remaining contests by 70% to catch him?

Oh wait, Clinton News Network. You've got to do everything you can to keep Hillary in this. How about another GUTTER BALL story or Barack can't win WHITE people story. That should help. If not, there is always Rev Wright. He strikes FEAR in the hearts of old White people. Yeah, that should do it.

The next president of the United States is John Mc Cain. Obama will make Mondales defeat look mild. Expect most swing states to go Mc Cain. While Obama barely wins CA and NY. The Dems seems destined for defeat every time.

    Gore=Kerry=Obama= LOSERS!

I agree with you wholeheartedely Darth Vadik... the sorry state of the mainstream media today is downright depressiing, as is the ignorance of so much of the American public who buy into this crap. It's true that if you don't inform yourself about the issues, you deserve what you get. It's too bad that the small percentage who do take the time out to educated themselves have to suffer becuase of those who don't.

And yet he's still beating the pantsuit off of Hillary.

Nice bias, CNN. It's amazing that the mighty media can get manipulated by a hasn't-been-relevant-for-decades show like Saturday Night Live.

  24. White male for Obama

Hillary should challenge you Obama to a basket Ball match up. How about that for spin?

Despite the black mailing the media have had on Obama, reasonable people still search through the rubish and find their guy.

    God bless America.
The Media want to tieRen. Wright to Obama at all cost instigate confructation between the candidates.
Or trying to prolong Democratic race for their own benefit. The longer the race drags on the more money the Media get on ads.

Who is stupid? Most of us blogger buy into it by writing what they want to hear .hate. insulting words, negative attacks whereby tearing the democratic party apart.
say no you negative posting or blogger.
    God Bless you all.
